Why does everybody assume there's lobster palming going on? The second trick requires no sleight of hand at all, you can just have the lobster in the top part of the cage.
if u look hen hes holing it and its like folding in half theres a stick with a fake hand so it looks lik hes holding the blanket with 2 hands when ones fake and hes tkaing the thing off with the other hand
First one was easy to work out. got it first time. there is a rigid bar in cloth that teller gets out - notice it folds perfectly in the middle, when stretched out it hold the cloth rigid. teller's left hand glove is fake/attached to the cloth. he takes he hand out of the glove and takes the bands off the lobster with his now free hand. once they're off, replaces his hand in the left glove and folds the cloth away, which again, folds very unnaturally, like it has a hinged bar across the top.
The little one (I can never emember which is which...) is so freaking CUTE! He's like a Munchkin! And even though he's silent, he has the best expressions!

The trick appears to be performed by someone standing behind the curtain who reaches out keeping his or her arm in alighnment with the back of the lobster trap so the audience does't see it. the lobster is swapped by some sort of opening device at the back of the trap. you can see teller holding he trap at one point and then moving the boiling water to line up better that's where the switch takes place with the corn in place of the lobster. the rest is obvious.
Mmmm. That's a really interesting theory. I was thinking about it, but did you ever think of this one?
The lobster calls upon the power of ancient lobster gods, teleports out and then teleports the carrots into the trap just in time. I like your idea, but I think mine is more realistic, because to think that the lobster might have been taken out is just absurd.

Evidently I'm not allowed to speak I suppose. At least when I post a comment I'm not forced to be honest to the point were I have to sign my posts with a word or phrase describing my intellect. I think it would be big headed if I signed my posts with "intellectual free thinker" at the bottom. On the other hand I admire "lostkafei" for being honest with us by signing his or her post with "dumbass". Lostkafei I respect your honesty and courage for admitting the obvious when you signed your post.
If you're trying to expose all of penn and tellers tricks, they've already beat you to it. Nobody tells you how penn and teller tricks are done more than penn and teller themselves
Hey! I like lobsters! But I'm sure as hell no psycho Peta member or something, I just would never eat or kill a lobster just because I can (I don't like their taste.)
i didnt see him remove anything- i think the chain is attatched to the floor of the box and raises the lobster into the concave roofspace when they hang the box. then they just lower a substitute lobster down at the end of the clip
well i looked at it again..at 4:21,as mentioned above..and you can clearly see tellers empty hands, both, the whole time..besides that, it seems to be alot more practical to have a trick box, rather than trying to use sleight of hand to remove the lobster (pt1)
If you look, you see Teller only put on one glove. then he picks up the blanket which obviously has a fake hand with a glove attached to it. So It's Teller taking the rubber bands off.
Naw, he just got old. He's 52 or 53 so I'd say he looks pretty damn good for his age. This was 15 years ago, kinda hard not to change in fifteen years.
That lobster is probably dead now!

The lobster is in the top of the cage, I am guessing. The lobster that appears over Dave's head is a second lobster.
