I was in Memphis last week, and was able to tour Stax Records (along with Graceland and Sun Studio). I swear, it was like a spiritual event. I had a lump in my throat the whole time. Visit Stax for the tour and see/touch some of the instruments used in these recording sessions, actual tape masters, and the history of soul music. And make sure to pick up some music at Satelite Records next door - great prices and rare albums!

I just bought the 2cd of the 50th anniversary of STAX.Although,OTIS REDDING,SAM AND DAVE and ISAAC HAYES were the big stars,others like WILLIAM BELL,JOHNNIE TAYLOR and EDDIE FLOYD had so much potential.Good trailer.I expect to get the dvd when it comes out.

i bought 2 albums of eddie floyd yesterday a greatest hits collection and knock the wood! i also have the 3 box sets of the stax singles. amazing music! soul music live on even here in Greece!
