my subaru just blew another head gasket. and im getting tired of tearing the heads off to fix it. so im thinking of doing something like this.. my dad has a few old 350 4 bolt main motors from back when he was drag racing.. how would i get one of these to work in my subie..

in my honest opinion i think an lsx motor should only go into cars that have weak motors to begin with. the sti motor is a beast if you pump it up, so with that said, you should have
spent the money on upgrading the stock motor. but on another note, sounds great!
@1HOTLS1 The motor that was in this car was done for. From what he told me about it that the boxer engine had seized up when he bought the car. So pretty much he just bought the shell and a dead motor for cheap.

@1HOTLS1 all he'd need to do is throw on a turbo or two and with no other internal work whatsoever he could have 800-900whp. These LQ4's are perfect for boosted applications due to low compression and being an iron block. Making even 700whp with a EJ25 would be a project costing 10's of thousands of dollars. EJ's are no match for LQ or LS. Yea it's 3 times the displacement but so what? why even bother tuning 4 cylinders when you can have 8 for less? Parts are abundant for these motors

@codyalamodie why is it dumb?..cause he took out that poontang ass 300hp forced induction 4 cyl and put in a 600hp naturally aspirated V8?...it would have taken probally more money to make the original 4 cyl have the HP that LSX has (they come with 600) than what it cost to put the LSX in ..if he puts boost on that thing he can make 1000hp very easily and the LSX has been taken up to 1700 hp with just fuel and boost..he doubled his HP potential when he doubled the amount of cylinders...physics!
@computer188 a 4 cyl..is kinda gay even the turboed ones usually make only about 300hp stock. and LS1 comes stock with 350hp at the crank..i think this one in this vid is an LSX..if it is the actual LSX then they make 600 flywheel hp..slap about 18 psi of boost on it and well..u get the idea...physics will teach u that no 4 cyl has the all out potential that a V8 does...fastest 4 cyl in the WORLD runs 6.9 in the 1/4th..fastest V8 top fuel dragster runs about 3.4 at over 330 MPH...physics is key

@codyalamodie why is it dumb?..cause he took out that poontang ass 300hp forced induction 4 cyl and put in a 600hp naturally aspirated V8?...it would have taken probally more money to make the original 4 cyl have the HP that LSX has (they come with 600) than what it cost to put the LSX in ..if he puts boost on that thing he can make 1000hp very easily and the LSX has been taken up to 1700 hp with just fuel and boost..he doubled his HP potential when he doubled the amount of cylinders...physics!

@computer188 a 4 cyl..is kinda gay even the turboed ones usually make only about 300hp stock. and LS1 comes stock with 350hp at the crank..i think this one in this vid is an LSX..if it is the actual LSX then they make 600 flywheel hp..slap about 18 psi of boost on it and well..u get the idea...physics will teach u that no 4 cyl has the all out potential that a V8 does...fastest 4 cyl in the WORLD runs 6.9 in the 1/4th..fastest V8 top fuel dragster runs about 3.4 at over 330 MPH...physics is key

@computer188 hey man..when u are right..then u are right...the points u made are very true...power to weight is a huuuge key..but now ask yourself this...have u ever seen anyone say.."man fuck this V8 ima take it out and slap a 4 cyl in it"?..but u will find vids up all day long off ppl doing V8 swaps on EVO's STI's RX7's ext...but i doubt u will find many..if any ..of someone doing that to a car with a decent V8 in it..u cannot make a 4 cyl (mods maxed out) have more HP than a V8 (mods maxed)

Physics aren't key. A fucking mechanic that knows everything about everything concerning a car is the key. And half the world today, Doesn't know shit about building a big block, A legit mechanic can build a 400 small block to knock the brakes off a built 454 by a dumbass that doesnt know shit about machine work nor American muscle. ANY logical person that knows ANYTHING about horsepower knows there is no replacement for cubic inch. ESPECIALLY with longevity. fucking idiot.

@ilovechevy1 first off i hate honda personally, but there is actually a 4 cylinder, yes only 4, that runs a 3.39 1/4th, not sure what the overall MPH were but i about crapped myself when i found that out..... so long story short there are some badass gearheads out there

I was just curious about why this specific engine runs UNEVEN, and yes, i know good what a cam is, and what an OVERSIZED cam is, but this engine is not running well, and not sweet. But thats MY opinion, can you respect that....? I think not. Have a nice life over there, in america-land!
