  • Can anybody tell me what that little bit is at around 1:27? The song?

Caught some of this movie on TCM the other day (I'm a HUGE Garfield fan btw) and I really like that little song he plays. Especially when it the mood of the song changes around 1:40.

If anybody can help me out and tell me what that song is called, that would be great :)

  • This is my favorite Joan Crawford film. She and Garfield had such a great chemistry in this picture!

  • I LOVE this film. John Garfield was such an underrated actor. He was hugely talented and made a number of really good films.but fell victim to the Communist Witch Hunt in the late forties early fifties and this ruined a great career and led to his demise at 39 from heart problems. Garfield had contracted Rheumatic fever as a young man and it damaged his heart. A great loss! RIP JOHN.

  • MORRISSEY FAVOURITE FILM

    MASTERPIECE

  • I'm very happy! I have tried to find a montage sequence in youtube since long time!!

This is fantastic! Thank you very much!

  • I got this movie along with other Joan movies in a boxed set for Christmas. I think Joan's acting in this is better then in Mildred Pierce. :)

  • awesome way to narrate the setting

  • I have been trying to get this film for ages now.

  • Amazon -I just got it for $4.00 brand new. Go!

  • Great actor, but think Garfield was miscast. Hard to believe him as a violinist or sensative lover. Maybe Broderick Crawford would have been a better choice.

  • Can't get this fim in the UK sugar!!!!

  • So his furious violin playing is showing his thoughts of the chaotic city outside.

Using montage here is effective to convey his thoughts about the city.

  • And of course there is the delightful Oscar Levant -- the male equivalent to Eve Arden from Mildred Pierce.

  • Yes(!)Oscar Levant was a real hoot, both on and off the screen. I love the story of him telephoning his ex-wife (who was then on her honeymoon with her new husband, a movie-chain owner)and asking her what was playing at the local bijou. Funny!!

  • Of course you could drink martinis (and throw one against the wall) but you would never make it to the end of the film. Red wine is best for this one, especially if your crystal shines as much as Joan's!

  • I love this movie - try watching it with a good bottle of wine.

  • I love this movie...I know Joan fans love Mildred Pierce, which I do love, but Humoresque is my fave...absolutely love it...I'm going to try it with a bottle of wine next time...lol! Take care
