@jeffreypang911 Yes. As a matter of fact, the rubbing alcohol turned the ferrofluid into a hard, crumbly mess at the bottom of the bottle. Not really sure how long this took to happen but it was likely over a few weeks, versus just a a few days. Although, results may vary I suppose.
Id love to set that exact thing up at home, but am nor really sure what to go about getting the ferofluid, iv heard some say you can make it with toner and oil, and others say thats crap. I saw a video saying you need a surfactant to bind the Fe molecules to the oil molecules, So my guess is it isnt quite something you can make on your own...
It's better if you just buy it. With the cost of toner and with the other methods, you're better off just going on ebay. Plus, if you make it at home, there's the chance that you mess up or the quality isn't what you'd like.
Sorry, one more question. Is it possible to separate the ferrofluid from the alcohol so that you can use it alone as well? Maybe by heating it up enough to evaporate the alcohol, but not the water or whatever else is acting as the carrier fluid?
Wow, I think I actually like it better with the ferrofluid dispersed in rubbing alcohol. Looks really cool! By the way, do you guys stock ferrofluid on your site? Because I don't see it anywhere. I really think you should start selling it. I would buy some in a heartbeat, and I bet a lot of other people would as well! :)
hmm am i the only one that get's a flashback from spiderman?

How much ferrofluid did u pute in there?
RoyalTCrown 2 years ago
Not very much. Considering the glass bottle is about 20-22 oz. Maybe an ounce or two? A little goes a long way!
