  • We have Terry and The Deaner from FUBAR to pick up the torch now.

  • 5:33 don chery in the pick up?

  • It's great it's white and it's in the north! So take off eh?

  • rick moranis is my uncle

  • @mrgibssssss as if. XD

  • Bob & Doug knew that flannel shirts were cool way before Seattle caught on, eh.

  • Thank you for posting. Great memories

  • Bring back Bob and Doug!!!

  • wonder if they ever thought it would of gotten so big and still popular now

  • Genious! Classic Timeless

  • Rick is so cute in this interview

  • Bob: "Good day, I'm Bob McKenzie and this is my brother, Doug". Doug: "How's it goin', eh?"

  • All of those people, on parade, and all of the people behind the scenes. Maybe one of them was fat! Look at them how skinny! Compared to today that would be mostly fat/obese people.

  • *bliss* Oh, I so love this.

  • :47 Will Ferrel?

  • Gotta love the mooner at 5:10 and the Q107 van at 7:35

  • 1:15 fail

  • @arrkon1 that was done on purpose

  • Its funny because its true. Our funny little neighbors to the north. Lol.

  • I think that the key for the McKenzie Brothers or Rick & Dave is spotenaity, and it works. It's the key in improv comedy.

  • I'm also amazed that Rick and Doug can think of that stuff on the fly. I guess spotenaity is the key for good sketches.

  • @76carmel you mean rick and dave eh?

  • Yeah, I mean Rick and Dave. You're right. Got my D names mixed up.

  • I was working with one of the early computer scanners back in the mid-late 80s and created "Official Canadian Beer Licenses" with Bob & Doug's image, pertinent info on the front and on the back stated that "The holder of this card is hereby decreed by Canadian Parliament to taste test the following malt beverages"... Once in the ADK's of NY, my friend got proofed. so he handed over the ID the clerk looked at it, read the back, looked at the 2-4's of Moly Canadians and proceeded to ring us up ;)

  • Don't squeeze Florida! That's America's wang!

  • Beauty!

  • great video, eh.

  • Back around 1985 I was working in a direct marketing firm. Basically we sent out junk mail and circulars and coupons and stuff by mail. I worked in the computer room, so I had to print up the labels for the mail. Usually the labels would say "RESIDENT" and have an address under it. We printed tens of thousands a day of these. To break things up one day, I substituted the word HOSEHEAD instead of resident. It was supposed to be for a test run but actually got sent out to over 10000 people!

  • Did I mention that my boss's boss was pissed! Actually the VP of the company. I can still remember himbringing n on the carpet saying "What were you thinking?', "What the hell is Hosehead?", Do you want to lose your job?

Funny thing was, back then at $5.50 an hour, NIGHT SHIFT, I don't think they could have done much about me!

God Bles Bob & Doug McKenzie and the memories they have made!

  • @fatdogtavern Beauty!

  • lol It has been so long since I have watched Bob & Doug! btw - does anyone remember the CBC reporter's anme? She is so familiar and I remember watching her but can't remember her name...it will be one of those things that bugs you eh?!

  • The reporter was Barbara Frum long time host of The Journal which was part of CBC's The National. She passed away in 1992

  • @aManOnaJourney Barbara Frum has a section of my old high school named after her, at Stamford Collegiate in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Barbara Frum Technology...err..Wing..I think. I forget. S'been awhile.

  • that barbara frum Poor lady died from luekemia. She was a lovely lady.

  • The heyday of Bob and Doug were good times. Up until the 1980s, my American fishing buddies knew so little about Canada compared to how much I knew about the US. When Bob and Doug came along and for that matter SCTV, the US media started to take some interest in their friendly neighbor to the north. Bob and Doug opened a long forgotten door where our two countries shared a lot common ground.

  • That was great. These guys were great

  • Beauty post eh!

    Thanks hoser!!

  • "Okay, welcome 2 The Great White North..."

  • I got to see Dave! SO EXCITING!! even though he's old now he's still freakin sweet eh

  • dave tomas was the 1 who put it together take off

  • and the republicans claim they don't have a good health care system? phooey

  • Hosers are OK, eh

  • Sounds like a herd of fricken cluckin' chickens...so stupid but funny....

  • This is Hilarious, what some people don't realize is it takes talent & experience to come up with the Improvised Material not just anyone can do it , didn't you guys hear when she said Dave Thomas has a Master's Degree in English Literature & Radio Experience & Rick Moranis has Radio & TV Experience so to pull off the Material on the fly is quite exceptional!!!!

  • i the usa we never seen this

  • Why am I just now discovering this?

  • These imposters stole their material from Skordy man. It's alright, they didn't get far. Yam Dankees

  • those shots of Younge St. look crazy!

  • beauty eh? was this a real news report or a spoof?

  • omg i think i saw my dad in that croud of people lol

  • Bacon grease spatula hot cheek.

  • Everyone drinks and drives for the parade, and its totally ok, thats awesome.

  • its great its white and its in the north so take off eh lol

  • take off you hoser!

  • is that a butt i see at 5:09? i didnt think canadians would have that on tv

  • We normally don't show our butts because it's too cold, eh? You know, like, we've learned that if you cover your butt, you won't freeze your ass off. And without an ass it's hard to sit down long enough to fry up some back bacon, eh.

  • I'm with you on that one, eh? I mean full moon. That's a way to take off literally, eh?

Tell that hosehead at 5:09 to take off, eh?

  • It is a butt you see.

  • why are Americans, the only azzes allowed on tv? rflol

  • Hah, see the funny thing there is, Canada has long been less prudish about nudity and language on TV than the US has.

  • Hahahahahahahaha.

    Love it!

One of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen in my life :D This reporter irks me. But Bob and Doug Mckzenzie... hilarious!

  • There's no gravity the beer would just go flyin' out

So you just hold your head over

    lol they're so funny!

  • eh..

  • Beauty.

  • Like, beauty, eh?

  • this is how waynes world got started eeh

  • Anyone notice that "the great white north" map is upside down behind the lady at 1:11

  • Canadian Television journalists, butchering Canadian comedy and culture by over analyzing it for decades. :-)

It was funny and still is because it was fresh.

    The CBC never understands comedy.

They need to air it and leave it alone.

  • I live right below Vancouver island and grew up watching Canadian tv. oh the sweet memories! I love Canada and Canadians but you're so right about the journalism. I don't think it's much different today either.

  • I love the part with the last guy at the end.

    - idiot reporter: "WHAT'S WRONG WITH CANADA?"

    - bob : "Nothing, It's beauty, it's great, it's white and it's in the north...so take off!"

    LOL!

  • TAKE THAT YOU STUPID HOSERS!

  • Look at all those stubby bottles!

  • dudes are my idols

  • LMAO they all sound like a herd of Wild Turkeys!!

  • Man, they were some damn good actors.

    lol

  • I wish they still did this stuff

  • Bob and Doug make me laugh, my Gramps used to call me hosehead

  • take off ya hosers,eh!!!!

  • These guys rock. I'm one of the few of my generation who appreciates the humour. For some reason, every other teenager I've met thinks they make us look like idiots and hate them. They're hilarious.

  • lol yea im 16 and i think they are funny shit too lol

  • Tell your friends thats the point. They created the characters in response to the CBC's request for more "identifiably Canadian content" so they created this guys to spoof the stereotypes, including the less educated, working class idea.

  • i want BEER!!!! Eh

  • Just look at those "stub top" bottles of beer!Good god, makes me wonder how old I'm getting(LOL)!!!

  • If ya wanna go waaaaaay back..Just buy some RedCaps..LOL

  • LOL I heard that,LOL!!!!

  • Take Off Eh! :P Love these guys!

  • hahaha wat a bunch of hosers eh

  • We drink more cold beer cause we're more fun lol Take off, Eh

  • take off you hosers

  • Of course Bob and Doug are ridiculous! But it's all in fun! Make no mistake about it, Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas are not idiots! They got a positive response from their McKenzie Brothers skits on SCTV and they ran with it! They make many people laugh. Those of you Canadians who feel offended, perhaps the McKenzie Brothers are hitting too close to home! Relax, the rest of the world still loves ya! Goo~Loo koo koo koo koo koo koo

  • ok... that weird noise they make, just makes us look dumb. So uncool. I'm embarrassed to own up to those guys. They can be so much more funnier than that.

  • whhhhhhat?!?!?!? im sickened by your words... im embarrassed that we've got you in our country.

  • take off eh

  • "Cannooks" do you have anymore clues do you even know what you are writing. Take Off, Eh

  • Goo~Loo koo koo koo koo koo koo

  • Hey, don't copy me, eh. Hosehead.

  • Take off!! This was my idea eh! Ha...

  • Oh, why you gotta do that, eh?

  • I loved watching SCTV, but hated these stupid "hoser" sketches. I thought it made Canadians look like total dimwits. People in the U.S probably thought we were actually like this. LOL

Loved SCTV the show though! Some memorable skits with John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Rick Moranis etc etc.

  • who Cares what the Americans think of us eh!!

  • agreed.. this is the best, if the americans thought all of us canadians were like this then they are the total "dimwits"

  • Yeh... I think they do believe we are like this. That we have no class and no manners. We are dimwits and back-woods, uneducated hermits in snow all year-round. But thats b/c they never learn anything about Canada and rarely travel. lol

  • > That we have no class and no manners. We are dimwits and back-woods, uneducated hermits in snow all year-round.

There's nothing to be ashamed of about that.

  • Are you saying you agree we are all of that? Or are you in a round-about way letting us all know you don't travel much and get to know the world outside of the U.S border? Both? lol...

  • Take off, eh!
