hmm i find the game interesting but a little different in comparison to some of the other games in the franchise, mostly the fixed camera and her acrobatics, some of which reminded me of games like god of war. all in all it was an interesting game that when i get a wii i will buy, along with the prime trilogy!

Her voice needs more personality, too. It's almost always a neutral, flat tone, even when she uses sentimental words. Get rid of Concentration. Make Samus search and scavenge for supplies.
Samus is too sentimental in this game. I don't like her "Pride and Prejudice" personality. I expected her to be part Xena (warrior princess), part Wonder Woman, part Voltron, & part Wolverine in outer space.
The next Metroid game should be another platform game like this game, but let the player manually aim in both 3rd person & 1st person viewpoints w/ the latter giving higher accuracy or better damage attacks while forcing the player to stay put. Add multiplayer, too.
@Mechyuda i think if it has to have multi-player, other characters would have to be playable too. such as anthony perhaps. but yes, 1st and 3rd person is the way to go for the next game.
hey capoland...just before I entered this new area, I was looking at the hallway ahead of me. (near the main sector before blowing the final power bomb door) There was a blue dot (item) in the middle of the hallway, but I couldnt get to it, because the elevator wasnt working. So you searched an entire ship, composed of three different natural climates that are still inhabited with killer beast, fought a random space alien, and raced a killer countdown, just to recover a helmet?! A very special helmet, true, but still kind of awkward to think about.
@marsiification K.G. wasn't found because there's nothing left of him - he was the one thrown into the lava. And by process of elimination that leaves James. If you think about it, who was it that snuck up on Melissa, only to be found dead later in the same spot? =)
Wait, isn't Phantoon a monster that was controlling the spirits of the dead on the crashed ship on Zebes and working with Mother Brain? Why is there another one? And in space?
Because of the story line of metroid fusion, this game is outside of timline unless another part is made to the series where adam sends her on one last mission.
@capoland suposedly Adam died in this one. He's suposed to be alive at the begining of fusion or seam to be. In the fusion story line she goes on another mission where she meets the x virous and when she's on BSL she finds out that he'd dead.
@capoland before metroid fusion? if i remember correctly, wasn't the infant metroid still alive in metroid fusion so it could provide a cure for the X parasite inside samus in the introduction?
All they mentioned in the intro is, that somehow, the Galactic Federation must have managed to get their hands on some cells of the last "baby" Metroid (meaning the one that safed Samus in "Super Metroid") and were able to convert them into an Anti-X-Paraside-Serum - which obviously worked and saved Samus's life - but at the same time, triggering the events of "Metroid 4"; for only very view knew, what the Galactic Federation planned on doing with those cells...
My question is why, in every game when the area self destructs, it already starts blowing up small chunks of itself? Did the engineers just go, "Ya, Bob, just cramp more C4 into the walls." Sortof goes against the point to have a timer, and a warning system if you're just gonna blow it up prematurely anyway.
Who thinks Samus should have been an agressive mostly silent, emotionally immature, cunning, hot tempered, stubborn woman instead of a whiny, easily controled and manipuled, emo girl?

This game is great and I love that they made this game faster and harder! The Prime games were easy though annoying (Relics...). The bosses weren't hard because you had inSane amount of health that hardly ever deplete. This game makes you have to conserve health to beat it. And Samus actually runs! In Prime it felt like she walked everywhere and now she actually has the awesome bounty hunter moves we love. I say this game is either #1 or #2 of the Metroid series.
Very Smooth run my friend ya got my sub..Samus is defintly one my fav female leading heroines and this one shows she more of a real person and how a real person would react to stuff imo...nice to know she has some depth but I personally think Adam is more than just a father figure to her..thats just me..^_^

@Shaolingy I've played all 3 Prime games and Fusion. I also have studied the timeline of this back and forth. I also happen to know that Samus is more emotionally fragile than in the games before this because she knows that the events of Super Metroid were her fault. We've never really got a look into her mind, and this game gave an opportunity for that. So either you're an emotionaless wreck who is obsessed with female-terminator like protagonists or you don't like emotion at all >.>....
@Shaolingy Also people wanted two things from this game: To see the events prior to Metroid Fusion take place AND to have something similar to a 2-D side scrolling game like the original, MII and SM. Requirements to be a Metroid game: 1. must have Samus 2. must have at least 2 original bosses 3. must have explorable enviroment 4. must have a self-destruct sequence at the end.
@ProjectOmega05 Don't forget, 5. Must have Metroids, though that should be understood. As for #4, if I recall correctly Metroid 2: Return of Samus was the only game in the series not to end with an explosion.

@74videogamefreak I work for the gov. l so I know the procedure. Everytime we work with something alien or hazourd we have to have self destruction. However this is manual switch and not auto. Never heard about auto self destruction not even when breaching or fire.

I actually prefer it this way. I never really liked it as a FPS anyway. I think it adds depth to the experience having the view this way.I want to see the character on screen..... Maybe I'm just old school.

Newsflash. People don't dislike this game because it's not an FPS. They dislike it because it's the most linear game in the series (moreso than Fusion and Prime 3), which is NOT the Metroid formula. That is why people didn't like Prime 3 as much as Prime 1 and Prime 2. It was too linear.

@bronzeownsu It explains how Adam died for one, the other is probably how the Metroid Program at the BSL station originated, though they did scrap the genetic manipulation & just decided to use enhanced growth to make larva metroids into omega metroids in a matter of days when it naturally took longer than that.

The pretty much only thing I don't like about this game is that you have to move in third person. Don't get me wrong I loved the storyline but it just bugs me how you move; however, if it were moving in a metroid prime style I would have got this game the day it came out.
I am just curious as to how Phantoon came back and all that. Also why have I think 2 of the 4 gaurdians and not have all? I loved it though. So this question has been begging me since about half way through: Do the remains of the self distruction make SR? (Place in Fusion.) I saw many things that I didnt expect. I would have been happier if they explained how her father and mother got killed. I mean yeah Zero Mission kinda explains it but for people who didnt play that one it just would (NEXT)

@Skeletor303 I was actually worried when I heard Team Ninja was going to do this. I was worried they would make her all breasts and ass. I am actually quite disappointed myself being a girl that you dont get shit for an ending picture or anything. And the beauty mark bothers the piss out of me... @Myuutsuua Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of nintendo is also the creator of the metroid, zelda, and mario series. so being that this game is licenced by nintendo, i think he approved of it, but im not sure he had to much influence because hes not head of the corporation. Also Team Ninja does have a habit of making their characters a little more...endowed, but its not even her physical appearance that they messed up, its the fact that they made her into a whiny child rather then a kick ass warrior.
I would think the initial structure damage, or the Galactic Federation started the Timer.

Very Smooth run my friend ya got my sub..Samus is defintly one my fav female leading heroines and this one shows she more of a real person and how a real person would react to stuff imo...nice to know she has some depth but I personally think Adam is more than just a father figure to her..thats just me..^_^

@Shaolingy I've played all 3 Prime games and Fusion. I also have studied the timeline of this back and forth. I also happen to know that Samus is more emotionally fragile than in the games before this because she knows that the events of Super Metroid were her fault. We've never really got a look into her mind, and this game gave an opportunity for that. So either you're an emotionaless wreck who is obsessed with female-terminator like protagonists or you don't like emotion at all >.>....

@Shaolingy Also people wanted two things from this game: To see the events prior to Metroid Fusion take place AND to have something similar to a 2-D side scrolling game like the original, MII and SM. We got those, and what do you single-minded idiots do? You complain like 5 year olds who didn't get what they wanted for their birthdays. @ProjectOmega05 Don't forget, 5. Must have Metroids, though that should be understood. As for #4, if I recall correctly Metroid 2: Return of Samus was the only game in the series not to end with an explosion.

@74videogamefreak I work for the gov. l so I know the procedure. Everytime we work with something alien or hazourd we have to have self destruction. However this is manual switch and not auto. Never heard about auto self destruction not even when breaching or fire.

I don't know why so many people dislike this game just because it's not a FPS.
I actually prefer it this way. I never really liked it as a FPS anyway. I think it adds depth to the experience having the view this way.I want to see the character on screen..... Maybe I'm just old school.
I personally couldn't be happier with this game

Newsflash. People don't dislike this game because it's not an FPS. They dislike it because it's the most linear game in the series (moreso than Fusion and Prime 3), which is NOT the Metroid formula. That is why people didn't like Prime 3 as much as Prime 1 and Prime 2. It was too linear.

@bronzeownsu It explains how Adam died for one, the other is probably how the Metroid Program at the BSL station originated, though they did scrap the genetic manipulation & just decided to use enhanced growth to make larva metroids into omega metroids in a matter of days when it naturally took longer than that.

The pretty much only thing I don't like about this game is that you have to move in third person. Don't get me wrong I loved the storyline but it just bugs me how you move; however, if it were moving in a metroid prime style I would have got this game the day it came out.

I am just curious as to how Phantoon came back and all that. Also why have I think 2 of the 4 gaurdians and not have all? I loved it though. So this question has been begging me since about half way through: Do the remains of the self distruction make SR? (Place in Fusion.) I saw many things that I didnt expect. I would have been happier if they explained how her father and mother got killed. I mean yeah Zero Mission kinda explains it but for people who didnt play that one it just would (NEXT)

@Myuutsuua Yeah, I get you too, but that story is well explained in some comics by Nintendo Power and some other guys, you can find these in the internet, they do explain how Samus parents died in a rave attack guided by Ridley, how Samus met the Chozos and how they were killed by -guess again- Ridley and the space pirates... And the power suit too, Mother Brain, the Metroids and many other things (:

@Skeletor303 I was actually worried when I heard Team Ninja was going to do this. I was worried they would make her all breasts and ass. I am actually quite disappointed myself being a girl that you dont get shit for an ending picture or anything. And the beauty mark bothers the piss out of me... Everything else with this game was just beautiful. I wish that the original maker could see it. :(

@Myuutsuua Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of nintendo is also the creator of the metroid, zelda, and mario series. so being that this game is licenced by nintendo, i think he approved of it, but im not sure he had to much influence because hes not head of the corporation. Also Team Ninja does have a habit of making their characters a little more...endowed, but its not even her physical appearance that they messed up, its the fact that they made her into a whiny child rather then a kick ass warrior.
