Anette isn't a bad singer, she's pretty good, but she just isn't what made Nightwish memorable. Tarja's unique singing style is what made Nightwish such a unique band. We were all used to Tarja's voice but now Nightwish has Anette.
Though I will never buy any of the new Nightwish albums, I will still say that Anette isn't a bad singer. The phrase at 4:11 shows what she can really do, and there aren't many vocalists that I know that can do that. We all miss Tarja, but this is Nightwish now.

I've always loved Tarja's voice, but wasn't a fan of how she allegedly conducted herself. Nightwish is NOT Tarja, as some have claimed, particularly since she didn't contribute much more than her voice on most occasions. Anette isn't a bad singer, but definitely lacks some of the skill that Tarja blatantly possesses. Anette is more pop, whereas Tarja had more of an operatic, classical spin on it, something many fans loved (including myself). All we can do now is mourn the loss and reminisce.

Annette is a good singer and all, but this song is majestic and she just isn't good enough to sing it, end of story. Her performance on The Poet And The Pendulum is great, she should stick to the newer stuff which was written for her.

When I first heard this song I was scared that she would mess it up like "Wish I had an Angel" but I was pleasently surprised, I really like it. It's just two different versions and I can listen to either and be happy. I really like Anette and Tarja, I don't think Nightwish is dead,they didn't want an Opera singer they took a different direction and I support them. I just wish she sang Wish I Had an angel more close to the original.

This song has just lost its power with Anette's voice. There was a power to it. HOnestly, this sounds like what I do when I sing this song and I'm not quiting my day job for a music career any time soon. They made their choice on singers and lost a fan base that was loyal to them for years. I just can't get into Anettes voice, no biggie. I have other CD's and can follow Tarjas career so I'm happy. :) I can compromise hehe. It doesn't mean I gave up on Nightwish I'll just wait it out.

Sounds like a karaoke version. She's not a bad singer, but she should stay in her depth where she is capable and competent. With this song she is way over her head and as we can read the sharks are striking.

This song wasnt written for annete so its quite hard for her to sing it. My favourite isnt annete or tarja it was always the whole band.

Anette isn't a bad singer, she's pretty good, but she just isn't what made Nightwish memorable. Tarja's unique singing style is what made Nightwish such a unique band. We were all used to Tarja's voice but now Nightwish has Anette.
Though I will never buy any of the new Nightwish albums, I will still say that Anette isn't a bad singer. The phrase at 4:11 shows what she can really do, and there aren't many vocalists that I know that can do that. We all miss Tarja, but this is Nightwish now.

I've always loved Tarja's voice, but wasn't a fan of how she allegedly conducted herself. Nightwish is NOT Tarja, as some have claimed, particularly since she didn't contribute much more than her voice on most occasions. Anette isn't a bad singer, but definitely lacks some of the skill that Tarja blatantly possesses. Anette is more pop, whereas Tarja had more of an operatic, classical spin on it, something many fans loved (including myself). All we can do now is mourn the loss and reminisce.

(acho que a voz dela tinha muito mais a ver com Alyson Avenue, mas enfim, foi ela a escolhida, e temos de lidar com isso, paciência. isto é que é inadmissível, LOGO A SLEEPING SUN, que é sem dúvida das melhores músicas dos NW.)

Not that I disagree (100% tarjaholic!), but lets not be rude. it's useless, they chose her and we have to deal with it.
OH WELL. As I said a lot of times, I think they didnt really need a female leadsinger. they'd do well with MARCOOO'S (L) vocals (: and that's what marco started doing first when joining a band: screaming. bass came later.
Anyway, I love tarja, I love NW, and I'm really sorry our hears have to handle this.

They are trying to adopt Tarja's songs for Anette. Anette has good voice for pop singer but her voice is not capable to handle Tarja's songs. Nightwish does not exit for me after Tarja ... now it looks like a joke on the original band.

It sounds horrible with her....I'm a male and i'm pretty sure they would be better off doing the song with me...because i dont Sing like Some Pop country garbage vocalist....The song sounds like Dirt now...when they play it to...I noticed Tuomas made a few mistakes hit a few flats and Empuu just isnt into it listen to his tone...None of them are really into it...because the lead person in the band sounds like shes been singing for 10 days..sounds like she isnt Trained at all shes Horrible.

I don't care if I get thumbs down but this is my opinion.
When I first heard this song I was scared that she would mess it up like "Wish I had an Angel" but I was pleasently surprised, I really like it. It's just two different versions and I can listen to either and be happy. I really like Anette and Tarja, I don't think Nightwish is dead,they didn't want an Opera singer they took a different direction and I support them. I just wish she sang Wish I Had an angel more close to the original.

This song has just lost its power with Anette's voice. There was a power to it. HOnestly, this sounds like what I do when I sing this song and I'm not quiting my day job for a music career any time soon. They made their choice on singers and lost a fan base that was loyal to them for years. I just can't get into Anettes voice, no biggie. I have other CD's and can follow Tarjas career so I'm happy. :) I can compromise hehe. It doesn't mean I gave up on Nightwish I'll just wait it out.

nightwish will never be the same without tarja but eh times are a changing, anette shouldnt sing the older songs designed for tarja's operatic voice because it highlights the flaws of her voice.
but still this could have benn better, but it could have been ALOT! worse.
