  • One person isn't WILD

  • They were AMAZING....Nothing like this anymore....Thank God I was born in 1960! Yea!!!! Look at Jim's cool face!

  • Can't believe the cigarette commercial! Can you believe they're now advertising DRUGS!?

  • why is robby looking like somebody beat his face up?

  • @50pawelcent there were rumors about jim havin beaten up him but robby just had a car accident before

  • yesterday 15 dec.

  • Wow, I've been looking for a less harsh cigarette. Kool!

  • I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE IN AFRICA..DO YOU?

  • Hehe, I bet Jim got a "please be a good boy" talk before this show, love ya Jim

  • @Xcomtario I think the Smother Bros were high boys, they didn't care, lol

  • STRONGER THAN DIRT!!

  • YEAH WHAT WAS THAT PROMISE THAT YA MADE????

  • Jim

    Is

    Not

    Dead

  • @MrSistermaryelephant Oh

    Yes

    He

    IS !

  • love the evil laugh, pure jim

  • oh, and after that "phallic" symbolism which is overtly sexual

you get Jim Morrison being told not to say "come on, come on..."

it wasn't that he forgot folks. Can't you see him basically holding his

nerve a bit during the blank spot?

  • I wish there were still Cigarette commercials to laugh at with all the phallic symbolism.

That Kool commerical pulls out all the stops. wow.

And great Doors bit..thanks for sharing this.

  • Love this! Love the Kool commercial!

  • Ray at 7:08 :)

  • totally bizzare that this song was in the middle of fluffy happy tv

  • Go to 1:35, if you'd like to skip directly to the performance.

  • What does it mean when a video posted here has the cueing included? Is this video from a tv station...

  • lol @ the kool commercial.

  • Robbie has a black eye during "Touch Me" and Jim forgets to sing "come on come on come on" the second verse. lol. And Ray is looking as sexy as ever!!

  • @jasontwo2001 to what? all of it, or...?

  • @georgeharrison22543 comment about the black eye and Jim forgets to sing come on come on. This is a great performance

  • @jasontwo2001 There was a John Densmore video and he said those things, so it wasn't just me talking there.

  • Love those DOORS and I see why i smoked KOOLS!!!

  • The Doors were criticized by their hardcore fans when they recorded this for being

too soft and selling out even though the album was titled the Soft Parade and the

current popular music was extremely commercial and bubblegum and they were just trying to compete. It's funny how over a decade later and a much harder rock music scene did'nt criticize Motley Crue for"Home sweet Home" they were credited with giving birth to the hard rock ballad and all the other bands followed.

  • ne1 know how Krieger got the black eye????look he has a black eye.

  • @smurfman95

funny, i was just watching a densmore interview and he said krieger got the shiner from a car accident.

  • @theritualking I just watched thay yeah lmao at ppl thought Jim punched him out XD

  • This song and the album were inferior to what came previously--disappointing. Commercial. Sad.

  • I remember this show. Pretty funny watching Jim getting caught up in the unreality of TV

  • man i love those old cigarette commmericals

  • cool piano bass! it really sound like a electric bass guitar! who can tell me what kind of keybord bass ray use in thise video? please i need to know because i am gonna buy one!

  • @JonasVanRetro

Fender Rhodes Piano Bass. Search on eBay.

  • All the surviving Doors have said, to some extent, the movie was inaccurate - Ray Manzarek hated most if not all of it, John Densmore said a good portion of it was based on the "Morrison myth" and "muddled through the haze of alcohol". Robby Krieger was the least critical and basically agreed with Densmore but added "it could have been worse". All stated much of their advice as to what Morrison was really all about was ignored or distorted by Oliver Stone. Their word is good enough for me.

  • WHat an awesome set.. Sad though - the New World Order did them in..

  • awsome video great quality.

  • The master. Before it flew off the rails...

  • hah i like Robbie's shiner

  • what strange beings exist on these comment pages. the doors, great band

  • break on through means tripping on acid.. seeing things that he wouldnt normally see.. only things on the otherside..

    not his satanic side?wtf?

  • blow me guyNbluejeans

  • stop the show at 6;11 JIMS HAPPY FACE

  • @cbe1999 Oh, yeah!! ♥ I've always wondered if he was smiling for someone special =)

  • i feel like buying a Kool. thats what happens when you put lung cancer ads between Doors songs

  • Jesus Christ died for the sins of people so that those that believe in Him can have eternal life. He's giving mansions away and many, many other wonderful things of beauty, fun, and love for those that turn away from their sins and follow Him! And not to knock Morrison, but, he can't do any of those things for you. So please, people, do yourselves a fabulous favor and drop the weirdo Morrison and get with The One that'll make you shout for joy when your journey in this world is over!!:-)

  • @guyNbluejeans wow what a meaningless rebutile that messege can not be belived by a thinking person so please by all means you can praise your lord all you want but dont bother us with this nonsense im not try to get a reply from you ethier just keep it to yourself please

  • @guyNbluejeans why do you even bother preaching here when you know a bunch of people are just goanna tell you to go fuck yourself? you gotta pick the right crowd.

  • @bunchabullsheet Sometimes the best converts come from the darkest places. Besides, how many souls did the lizard king manage to have "break on through" (to his satanic side) due to his Pied Piper gig going over the airwaves for decades? So let's be fair; my little bit of preaching here and there hardly compares to what he got away with!

  • @guyNbluejeans can you explain to me how is he satanic?

  • @sheet Yes I can explain it via connecting a bunch of dots. Unfortunately, posting via YT won't do as there's not enough space. Sooo the best I can do is ask you to take another look at The Doors, The Movie and see if you're perceptive enough to see certain things in it. The movie, incidentally, IS regarded as being pretty much factual by the remaining Doors members save for Densmore, who's part of the satanic Inner-circle. So go ahead, find as many "dots" ..and report back here and lay 'em out.

  • @guyNbluejeans you must not know too much about the doors if youre basing your opinions off the movie which is from the directors point of view, and is not factual in the portrayal of morrison. Ever listen to any of his poetry or did you just go to your cult called the church and listen to other people calling him a satanist. And since you know so much about the doors, isnt it fair to say that john densmore and jim morrison had their differences, not joined together in a "satanic inner-circle?"

  • @bunchabullsheet Impressive that you seem to not only assume to know so much about me, but that you also seem to know more than Krieger and Densmore, they are on record saying the movie is pretty accurate. Fyi, the movie is based on Densmore's excellent book, "Riders on the Storm." Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

  • @guyNbluejeans i did not say i know so much about you, densmore, or krieger. i merely asked questions. you don't answer any of my questions, you just seem to beat around the bush. also i cant trust you, because its on record that the idea for the film was around since the early 80's. casting was thrown around and it wasnt released until 1991. john densmore's book was published in 1990. but how do you "know" such trivia about a satanist? isnt it against christianity to read "satanic" literature?

  • @bunchabullsheet You did more than ask questions. Reread what you wrote. I'm perceptive and have had a full life. Did I say I read satanic literature? Are you on drugs? Again, the movie is based on Densmore's book, for the most part. The lizard king said he could do anything. Why don't you conjure him up and get all your questions answered?

  • @guyNbluejeans well you must read satanic literature because you said "I know what I'm talking about." you werent born with knowledge on the doors, you would have to read something. it is impossible for the movie to be based on his book. i dont know how much you know about the movie buisness, but it will take more than 1 year to redo a whole movie that took originally at least 5 years of planning. was jim morrison technically a lizard?? or is that a poem, with an example of figurative language??

  • @bunchabullsheet I would like to think that our problem communicating is that we're on different wavelengths. Also, this commenting back and forth on YT is problematic in that to make my case I would need to cover a lot of ground that this method is poorly suited for. The best I can do is to recommend that you obtain a copy of the 1980 book Michelle Remembers (Pocketbooks) and give it a good read, 'cause then you'll have a decent idea of where I'm coming from. Good Luck and Take Care.:-)

  • @guyNbluejeans And the best i can do is to recommend you to forget everything you saw in the oliver stone movie and read a biography written by someone close to the doors. "no one here gets out alive" by danny sugerman is a good choice. also to read "The lords and the new creatures" by jim morrison and you will hopefully know what i am talking about if you have an open mind.

  • @bunchabullsheet Believe it or not, I read Sugerman's book when it came out back around '79 and, too, I have Morrison's book of poetry. The poetry the man wrote was flat-out awful, though I'll admit I'm not any expert on poetry. For me it was painful. There's a lot I could say about all of this but, as mentioned, this tedious piecemeal method won't do. Read my suggestion and wonder......

  • @guyNbluejeans maybe you don't actually understand the meaning of his poetry ? just a thought.... I guess you want poetry to be just plain and simple which is boring and ''flat-out awful'' ... Anyway to fully understand what he says in his book you have to be on sth for sure ...

  • @guyNbluejeans How is a book about Child abuse, and memories revealed of a horrific past where you were forced to worship satan relevant to Jim Morrison?

  • @guyNbluejeans and also a sidenote, in case you were wondering the term witchcraft is labeled to a large chunk of people practicing a spiritual or pagan religion. Most of which are peace loving communities against violence. The media and church portray "witches" as evil maybe even "satanist" in the movies and books advertised. Just a small sidenote of something maybe you didnt know.

  • @guyNbluejeans Fuck God and Fuck You!!!

  • @jgraz42 May God have mercy on your soul for saying that!

  • Im soooooo fucked up right now!!!!!!!!!!!!! THis song is tight!!! Thanks for posting this video!

  • "This one taste harsh"

"Oh that's easy to fix, here try one of mine (ziiiiip)"

  • 18k views... should be one million plus

  • Looks like Robbie's sporting a black eye.

Very apropos as the song was originally about the domestic assaults he suffered at home from his girlfriend.

(I was in a marriage like that.)

"Touch me" was originally "hit me".

  • haha,Kool cigarette commercial

  • I absolutely love this vid! Jim looks incredibly handsome as well as the other 3. Thanks for posting this awesome vid!

  • Those were the days....Real talent and a cigarette commercial thrown in. The sixties were something else! The Doors are timeless.

  • I will tell you what, that sax player has made me want to start playing sax as well. It has a lot of nuts!

  • according to john densmore the drummer, guitarist robbie kriegers black eye was from a car accident....no seat belt laws then...

  • What happened to Robby's eye? Hahaha. Is it just me, or do Jim's eyes look extremely dilated? Also, what is that chiming sound in the chorus, i mean, what instrument is it?

  • you know its fuckin assholes like you that make people think that jim was a bad person when he was a very kind friend to everyone he's ever met.... DICK!!!!

  • How did what I said in ANY WAY imply that Jim was a bad person? It's common knowledge that he did all sorts of drugs including acid. People can do drugs and still be decent human beings. I was just poking fun at them. What kind of fan would you be if you couldn't take a joke?

  • ok well what kind of fan would you be if your going to poke fun at him and ya he did acid but not as much as you think he drank more than anything but if you wanted to point out how good a person he was you wouldn't say that they looked fucked up on acid

  • oh dear, calm the fuck down!!!if u know anything at all about the late great jim morrison you would know that he was not adverse to a bit of black humour

  • huh what does black humor have to do with anything i said?

  • wow that cigarette comercial really makes me KOOL

    luv the doors

  • i wish there was music still like this love the doors

  • @cuger420 i agree man! today's music is pure shit!

  • A Pirate Prince At Her Side, that's so fucking awsome, that's the reason i love The Doors, the lyrics, the music, all, this is the best part of the trip!

  • that was so good~

  • Cool...........

    Nice post.

    Thanks.

    Voltage

  • thought id seen all doors vids but never seen wild child cheers mate

  • incredibly awesome band:) great vid

  • THX FOR THIS!

  • Oh it's "the *hollow* idol's eyes" -- all these years I thought he was singing "Apollo idol's eyes"! I won't even go into what I thought the spoken portion was; suffice to say, I was way off.

Hey, the E! channel broadcast this at some point?! Since when do they show something so cool? Many, many thanks to Xandewolff for sharing -- this is awesome.

  • @HuntersMoon73 IT IS APOLLO IDOLS EYE...WHAT ELSE WOULD IT BE ..LOOK INTO IT ...YOULL SEE

  • @MERCURHILLMANIAC It's stare into "the hollow idols eyes"....

  • @jgraz42 SAME DIFFERECE ..IN OTHER WORDS .... whatever

  • @HuntersMoon73 HE SAYS HOLLOW HERE BUT IVE HEARD APOLLO BEFORE...THE DESTROYER!!! TO LOOK INTO HIS EYE IS TO TEMPT DEATH!

  • awesome video..thanks

  • wow the cigarretes are kools

  • Wild Child was great. You don't see the first performance much usually its touch me. Thanks for sharing!

  • Kuwait is eden, Africa is more origin of man.

  • ...and Jim lives on. Still ahead of the times.

  • The cigarette ad is more odd than watching Robbie's black eye. Anyway Lenny Kravitz copied this performance for his Ain't It Over Till It's Over video. Thanks for sharing both performances.

  • Yeah, Lenny. "Somebody wrote 'fuck' on his windshield... He's rich, gotta big car." Lenny is an industry brat, born and raised. Copies everything he likes. 'It Aint Over Till its Over' is one of the few well written ones. But it's still derivitive in 2 many ways.

  • Curtis Amy played the sax solo.

  • anybody know what remember when we were in africa means...does it reflect the garden of eden in africa issue... ?

  • I always thought it was a reference to our "wild" side, jungle and all that, like XTC's song "It's Nearly Africa" from the English Setttlement album.

  • i figured, thanks

  • Thanks a lot... I only have "Touch Me" from "Dance On Fire" DVD... this is awesome

  • very rare

  • the only thing more impressive than the doors was the cigarette commercial

  • why is soft parade so bad? I think its really good, expirementation, its a beautiful thing. And its a great album.

  • tobacco companies = legalised mass killers who now prey on the third world

  • Thanks for posting this. I watched it in968 when I was sixteen years old. Really weird to see the cigarette commercial. We've come a long way, baby.

  • well mother hubbard! spank my ass & call my judy! i love these songs & to be able to see them live again after all these years is just so..well...so...um...rightous man! groovy too!

  • Wow, I've never seen before this Wild Child -video. Pretty neat, pretty good...

  • He reminds me of Tom Jones on the song "Touch Me". I mean his style and the way he sings it. Anybody else think so?

  • charj67 no way!!! I think There will never be another one like Jim, ever! I also remember Tom Jones in his black/darkblue shirt with few open buttons, but that's all he ever got incommon with Jim. I think "Tiger" is not a man enough to beat The Lizardking...

But maybe Jim was his idol?? Hahaha!

  • Incredible piece of history in music, thanks for posting this.
