i have some reoccurring problems with my ions. When i'm playing it will randomly say re-connect controller and i will have done nothing to them. another problem is when i'm playing it will just randomly count a note on the drums when i haven't hit that note. these are very problematic as they usually reset my multiplier and gain me a score much lower than what i should have got.

If anyone knows what is wrong with them please let me know cause i really have no idea why it would do such a thing.

Watching this, the sensitivity does not seem "really good" like he said. lol Like when he dropped the stick, he hit the red pad like 5 times and none of them registered even though he had a decent hit. I own goodwoodmods for RB kit and they are extremely sensitive. I was thinking about getting Ions because...well they are Ions. But because the price and because some of the bad reviews I seen it seems like not such a good idea. I'll stick with my GWM for $100 a set for now.

Really would like to play on an Ion kit, but no one has one anywhere around me so the only way to see would be for me to buy it and I think I will be smart and not spend another $200 on ANOTHER drum kit. lol

IONs suck ass. I paid $250 and they already started bubbling, so I tried the Vic Firth mute mod and it just made the pads more mushy than before. Nothing seems to be working to fix the issue. I paid $250 and this is what I get? I like the RB2 stock with Xcell pads better. Guess I'm one of the few unfortunate ones.

you obviously never used a real drum pedal with beater at the time of the video because that ion pedal doesn't even come close to the action of the pulse pedal and others. and cymbals are meant to be hit u know with a fair amount of force so for them not going off on the slightest of touches/hits is nothing to worry about.

i had the same problem and really cheap easy fix is to just put a towel over your pads and yes this sounds really dumb but trust me just try it works really good and will also cut back a little of the noise

I really really don't see why anyone would want to spend £250 on a pretend drum kit when you could probably get a real one for a bit cheaper which you can play without having to stare at a screen...

But whatever floats your boat. I'd just stick to the original drums :)

Yeah, I understand that it can help a lot, and it probably helps more if the kit you use while playing is more realistic, but I don't think that justifies buying a super expensive one. Also I've heard you CAN connect a real drum kit to Rockband? But it takes a shitload of work and it probably isn't cheap.

Anyway, yeah, I have nothing against you if that's what you wanna do with your money, I'm just providing my viewpoint :)

because i never drop mine ever.

i know that they're smaller, but i never hit my sticks together. it's usually the rim, and that doesn't happen much either.

So I just got this ion drum set and i absolutely cannot stand the foot pedal. when I play, i dont hold the foot pedal down, I hover my foot above the pedal waiting to push down. but when i let my foot off the pedal the spring pushes it up making the pedal like bounce again and this is exremely loud and very distracting... any suggestions? The noise theory is really good its kinda like how people say the xbox is loud trust me on this you will almost never hear it if you are having a regular conversation on live with the headset on and the noise from your tv its almost impossible for me to hear(Maybe its cause I play my tv loud 26 out of 50)

honestly, guitar hero's drum gameplay isn't very good. definitely rock band 2. and i owned world tour with the drum kit and i was pretty disappointed. plus RB2 has incredible DLC, your playlist will not get old. Rb2 > GH
