  • THE SEARCH FOR SPICS

  • So.. they throw spock out into space to find him again?

  • @kralle98 When Spock died in The Wrath of Khan, He got sent to Genesis Planet and in this movie Saviik and David Kirk's son went there and found Spock young, Sadly David died !

  • @Cpnowys1awsome I know i posted the comment after i saw all the 6 films

  • Unbelievable how they put the most UNEXPECTED moment (the destruction of the Enterprise) in this trailer...

  • all that they loved....all that they fucked for........all that they stood for...

WILL NOW PUT TO A TEST!!!

star trek III the search for spock

  • LOL the doc on back to the future

  • Is that Klingon Doc. Emmett L. Brown?

  • @MrConsiglieri Yes, Christopher Lloyd played that role as well as the doc.

  • 2 mans are Star Wars Fans!

If u like this push the like button!

  • Ah Memories!

  • I saw this on Opening Day. June 1st 1984. The 305 PM Showing. Iwas one of the first people in my state to see it. T'was a Fair Film with some good moments. But not a Great Movie. Hearing in the Dialogue that the Indestructible,Resilient and Legendary Enterprise was to be Deccomisioned and Retired was a Downer and Dulled out the Movie. Kirk's Son's fate was a No Gooder either. Trek took itself too seriously with this Film and Made mistakes. Coming back to Earth was a Huge Lack of Creativity.

  • 0:43 LOL..."The shield's non-responsive.....FUCK!"

  • @IdomiNate141 ......................

  • Search for Spock was actually quite good. Every1 goes on bout Wrath of Kahn and it is really good, I really do like that they bought bk a classic villain from the old series, but at the same time, Kirk and Kahn never actually do meet in that movie lol. The Klingon in this kills Kirk's son! Which I thought was really quite dark, and Shatner played that scene perfectly stumbling bk on chair like he did "You Klingon Bastards, u killed my son." rare moment where we get 2 see a very Vulnerable Kirk.

  • I heard he's fruity and a nutcake!!!!!

  • I did find this movie entertaining but that's all.The stupid "remember" thing kind of pigonholed the writer's.As it turned out not only is this one of the original crews worst films but one of the worst Star Trek films period.

  • @trekfanful Really? Come on now.

  • The trailer totally ruined it, they showed the Enterprise destroyed.

  • スタートレック3 -ファインディング・ニモイ-

  • 2 people got left behind on genesis

  • Final Voyage of the Enterprise (please don't get into semantics about technicalities) my ass 8 movies followed!!! I've never been happier to be lied to by a trailer.

  • I read a news article that VCR's are going to be obsolete soon... I just watched this movie with my 9 year old neice and she's like... "THIS MOVIE'S AWESOME!! WHERE CAN I FIND THIS ON DVD?" then I'm like "IDK... when u find one u tell me. but i've been searching for a long time and haven't seen a trace and I've looked every where for one..." she had to leave and lets just say I lost My VCR and all 5 of my Star Trek Movie's... But u know this is my most favorite movie of all time!!!!

  • @kjvrachel Well, you COULD order it on Netflix, they also send DVDs now, instead of just downloading (Did they always send DVDs?)

  • Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) Star Trek: Generations (1994) Star Trek (2009)

  • @Every1unitedable U missed out First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis lol. Or are those Trek films your favorites??

  • @RaikenXion oh I was only putting the movies that featured the Original crew of the Enterprise.

  • i felt they gave alot away in this trailer

  • 0001

  • Great movie with some nice action sequences.

  • I still haven't gotten around to watching this one :\

  • All credit to Channel 4(Television channel in Britain) to have shown all the feature films from the Motion Picture 1979 to "Nemesis" 2003 on 10 consecutive Saturdays.

Now this weekend, they are showing them all 10 films over 2 days!!!!

  • Also, it has probably one of the most heart wrenching moments in the early films. "Klingon bastards..." (not going to say the rest lest I ruin it for those who've not seen it... ;>)

  • This is actually my favorite "Star Trek" film along with IV, mainly because those were the two I remember watching when I was a little kid. God, I have so many memories of Trek from my childhood. I don't remember seeing the others that early on, but I do have vivid memories of watching the original Star Trek on Sunday afternoons after church. :)

  • Ive known this whole movie line by line its an awesome movie.

  • "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few... or the one" :)

  • Christopher Lloyd as a klingon ???? God dammit , Christopher Lloyd has had an awesome career , just look at all the epic characters he has played.

  • This is the movie where the 2nd left off. :D

  • iM 28, BUT IM WATCHING THE STAR TREK SAGA FOR THE FIRST TIME, I SAW THE "NEW GENERARIONSAGA AND IT WAS GOOD" AND JUST TODAY I SAW THIS ONE, AFTER WRATH OF KHAN AND THE "THE MOTION PICTORE!..SOOO GOOD, I LOVE IT.

  • @bearis26 Better late than never...

  • The most favorite and funniest part I liked was when mcoy arguing at that alien in the bar.HAHA! hilarious!.

Mcoy: " The place where we are goin is genesis".

    Alien: "GENESIS!!"

Mcoy: "yes genesis, how can you be deaf with ears like that?"

    LMAO!

  • I wonder how many other kids kirk got??lol.

  • alright all of you gay smurfs star 3 topples that new movie fad toy story 3 bitches

  • Why is Captain Kirk so kick-ass?

  • I found Motion picture , wrath of khan , search for spock , voyage home and final frontier when I was cleaning my attic I love these and I found the books of the films

  • Just watched the movie yesterday, for the millionth time... Of course, loved it, I just realized I loved the older much mature Kirk, he had a sense of compassion, purity look in his eyes, like he cherished every relationship and friendship with each one of the crew, I cried at the end, when Spock came back, told Kirk "I shall always be your friend!".. G-d I grew watching Star movies movies..

  • I actually liked this one better than The Voyage Home, honestly. I love them both, but this is the better Trek film for me.

  • 0:12

Sounded like the narrator said "All that they fucked for" lol.

  • I saw this in the theaters with my old man when I was a kid.

  • @dedricthere Then you had a wonderful childhood.

  • i remember reading on nitpickers about the impulse power 1/4 impulse power is a quater of the speed of light, so enterprise would have smashed in to space dock

  • Yeah, but it's impulse POWER not impulse speed. So it's like being in 2nd gear, but not pushing the gas pedal all the way down.

Just kidding I really do not care. I just like to pretend I'm back at a star-con. :)

  • 1/4 impulse is not a quarter light speed! full impulse is not even light speed. light speed is warp 1

  • Yeah they've never specified exactly what "impulse power" is. We would assume it's based on 1/X*c, but as far as I know it's never fully explained. We do know that technically you were supposed to use thrusters only in spacedock, but everyone and their mothers seemed to flout that rule :P

  • It's pretty lame that they gave away that the Enterprise would be destroyed in a friggin trailer :p

  • That's Paramount's doing ]:(

I think it was originally supposed to be a secret, but silly paramount always gives it away.

    Silly Paramount, tsk tsk tsk.

  • I was thinking the same thing.

  • @TheRamenAvenger agreed!. Could you imagine if they showed spock's death scene in the Wrath of Khan trailer?

  • @TheRamenAvenger Agreed!

Can you imagine if they did the same thing with the WOK trailer? lol

  • why did you watch it then?

  • This movie never gets the love it deserves - because it's so "dark." However, it's a fantastic movie! It's intense, and there are two significant losses - the Enterprise and Kirk's son. I don't think it's better than "Khan," but I think it's just as good.

  • GTFO my trailer thread. Bitchass. yeah. I said it.

    fag

  • 0:23, b-b-b-bird bird bird, bird is the word :P

  • "we're a sitting duck"

  • im going to ruin this film for all and say the enterprise is lost

  • Well, that was a wank trailer. Never been big on number 3 anyway, not after the brilliance of Khan.

  • I think that's why 2, 3, and 4 will always be my favorite. I wish Star Trek 5 would have followed 4 by basing the movie on the novel called Music of the Spheres. I'm pretty sure Music of the Spheres was supposed to be ST 5 but William Shatner's ego was too big.

  • can some1 tell how spork died? i have never seen any of the old movies, but i seen most of the tv shows

  • SPOILER

At the end of ST2, he

  • Watch Star Trek two

  • he dies from radiation poisoning, he saved a the ship from a huge explosion, but in doing so, the radition in the engine room killed him

  • SPORK?! hahahaha i think u meant Spock

  • @jiayingzhou if you watch the movie star trek the wrath of khan at the end, spock was risking his life to save the enterprise, by opening up some kind of...I am not sure what it was, but it was some sort of warp power container to get warp speed back after being inoperative in battle against khan, but to much radiation cuased spock to die. before khan(command the reliant) would activate the genesis device to explode, and the shockwave wouldve hit the enterprise killing the crew.

  • @Antimatter050 true. the novel says 'manual control' inside the object in the middle of the floor. and what gets me,most likely done intentionally, but no one seems to notice Spock just leaving the bridge. and later when McCoy tells him 'I think you better get down here.' Kirk sort of leaps out of his chair and heads for Engineering. when the line 'he's dead already.' This doesn't seem right. For a dead man,Spock seems to get up of course he wasn't dead yet.

  • @retro38 I think McCoy meant that Spock was already good as dead.

  • @retro38

He had absorbed so much radiation that he was the walking dead. That is what he meant.

  • So i was wondering, were they always planning on bringing Spock back after his death in Star Trek II or was it only after receiving a tumult of outrage and angry letters from fans demanding that they bring Spock back?

  • great sequel for Khan, a solid Star Trek movie.

And it has Chris 'Doc Brown' Lloyd as a Klingon, you cant lose!

  • 2 and 3 are for the most part, one movie

  • BEST STAR TREK MOVIE EVER!!

  • It is one of the best and most underrated Trek movies.

  • i am going to watch it tonight

  • I know it's objectively not the best of the Star Dreck movies, but I don't care--it's still my favorite.

  • this is a test for you

  • The guy saying "you do this and you'll never sit in a captain's chair again" sounds really bored, like a guy at a tollbooth. The narration is kind of weak, too.

  • This trailer doesn't do the film justice. Trek trailers had awkward stages. But the film is Star Trek at it's finest. Those first six are venerated classics (Trek 5 notwithstanding). I miss the models.

  • That's exactly what ran through my mind. This seems more like one of the classic trailers for the original series episodes.

  • Leonard Nimoy is a much better director than he's given credit for. The stealing of the Enterprise in this movie is a master class in how to build tension for your audience.

  • it's actually the klingon word for "fire" which spelled phonetically is pronounced "bach" as in sebastian bach

  • i think he said "spock!"

  • I still remember watching this trailer of the Enterpise blowin up and being devestated!

  • CHRISTOPHER LLOYD as THE KLINGON!!!!!

must be why I like this >=)

  • That klingon says fuck in the trailer! wow, I'm amazed. Goobly gobbly goop hey

  • That's what I heard.

  • Yea. Then kirk says they're a shitting fuck right after him!

  • Trailers frrom way back when (ha ha... I mean the 70's...) always seem to have the opposite effect. If I hadn't already seen this movie, I wouldn't want to see it after watching the trailer.

  • this was actually 1984

  • Man, they spoiled the Enterprise getting destroyed? Harsh.

  • good movie. bad trailer.

  • This movie definately doesn't fall under the "Odd number ST movies suck" rule. Great follow up to Wrath. It didn't have the action of 2 but it definately had everything else.

  • agreed. i think the II III IV run of trek movie is one of the best trilogies of all time.

and christopher lloyd's kruge was a prototype for EVERY klingon since then including gowron, martok, and some aspects of the worf character

  • As a kid, I was surprized to see that in the trailer, but I held out hope it wasn't the end. When seeing the movie it patially blew up, and I thought "they can still retreive it"... then it burned up in the atmosphere and I thought "Hmmm, that's going to be a little harder to fix" XD

  • i originaly thought the exelcior was their new ship

  • why would they show the enterprise being destroyed in the preview? Spoliers!

  • Perhabs to make the audience wonder if the Enterprise really gets destroyed and to make them see the film to find out if she really gets destroyed. That's at least my theory.

  • 0:44

    F**K!

  • some trekies are ok, unlike fans of jack ass and big brother they dont all jerk off in front of their parents and poo all over the bed

  • I can't believe they spoiled the destruction of the Enterprise in the trailer! Reminds me how they spoiled the ending to Superman III in that movie's trailer, albeit it was a bad movie, but it still spoiled it.

  • I think it's kinda dumb how they show the Enterprise blowing up in the trailer. And the announcer dude in the background is lame. But otherwize, a good trailer.

  • Harve Bennett says that they were trying to keep the Enterprise blowing up a secret, but they didn't realize the trailer was going to show it.

  • I wish the fight at the end had music in it..it's a good fight otherwise

  • they tell the end in the trailler

  • Cool!! I like Kirks fight at the end "I have had enough of you"

  • Leonard Nimoy originally was not going to play the role of Spock following the Wrath of Kahn as he was to die to save Jim, but they decided to bring him back.

  • Actually, Leonard Nimoy refused to play Spock for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, unless it was written into the script that he be killed off. The director Nicholas Meyer gave himself an out, though, Spock's final actions in that movie. Nimoy eventually changed his mind, agreeing the revive the Spock character in the movie he himself directed.

  • That is not true. Nimoy has already recanted that. Thats why he got to direct Star Trek 3. he told the producers at Paramount "Go look at the contract, it's in the building your in, go pull it out, it is not in there that spock has to die." It was done strictly for Dramatic purpose.

  • Brilliant movie, but was really very silly that they showed the Enterprise blowing up in the trailer...

  • Haha exactly!!

  • I agree.

  • The first Star Trek movie I've watched (I was 8)!!!!

  • shields are non reponsive

  • I miss Star Trek in general but the good old crew I miss most... Ah, the good old times...

    Peace out!

  • Is it weird to like the third movie?

  • it`s weired NOT to like it

    :)

  • No. It isn't weird to like the third movie.

  • Ah, I remember seeing this movie in the theater. One of the best ST movies (along with II).

  • the excelsior....i loved the technology

  • Can you imagine the fans all pooing themselves: the final voyage of the starship enterprise? Gotta see gotta see!

  • the star trek movies are better than the episodes, which tend to be god damn slow

  • "Remember, we're talking about people who are in their 30's, still living at home, working at Blockbuster, who only go out when there's a movie such as this."

    If YOU think so...

  • Not really, I didnt know Data would die in Nemesis now THAT was a shock.

  • ...and you're obviously one of those people, or you would not be on here looking for Star Trek Trailers. Maybe you don't still live at home, but I bet mommy still lends you movie money.

  • are u talking to me ? i do love the star trek films but i think some of the t.v show was shit, especially voyager which truly was mundane and people complain about star trek I

  • on this the final voayage? love this film but did they really think this was the end? it says AND THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES at the climax

  • Final voyage for 1701. Harve Bennett was mortified when Paramount showed the ship explosion in the trailer.

  • Why show the enterprise being blown up??

  • It was all because they wanted to get people in to see the movie...that's why comedy movies have all the funny bits in their trailers :(

  • I SEE what you mean, it should have been a surprise. the producer was not happy they showed it

  • Wow, I remember totally freaking out when I first saw this in 1984. This is my favorite Trek film ever.

  • I'm not gonna say this is my favorite film, but it did introduce my favorite ship design (the Oberth-class ship, vis a vis the USS Grissom).

  • Already have, you fucking stereotypist.

  • i was not yet born. lol

  • me toooooooooo♥

  • I love the way they virtually told the whole story in the space of the trailer.

You can work out that the crew ends up back on genesis at the start of the trailer, as they are on the planet looking up. You know they steal the Enterprise as it says so, and you see it going into warp leaving space dock, so we know thats succesfull. We then see the Enterprise get destroyed. Thats about 70% of the story already told. Bit naughty how they make it look like the Klingon BOP destroys the Enterprise..

  • I'm amazed they actually spoiled the Enterprise getting blown up.

  • I love this trailer for the film!!! shatner is so HAMMY!!!

  • Love this movie

  • I wonder why they called this "the last voyage of the starship Enterprise" when a new Enterprise was shown at the end of the next movie, which was used in subsequent movies..

  • It was the last voyage of the "original" Enterprise. NCC-1701

The ones later were total reconstructions and ID'd as NCC-1701-A or B, C or whatever.

I'm embarrassed that I even know this.. I'm a geek.

  • That makes sense, although the Enterprise used in movies 1-3 seem fairly different than the Enterprise in the original series. Even Decker in the first movie said that the refit Enterprise was fairly different and that Kirk wasn't very familiar with it. So I'm not sure how "original" the Enterprise was even in the first movie.

  • Hey! Don't forget the Enterprise NCC-1701-D from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and the Enterprise NCC-1701-E from "Star Trek: First Contact", "Star Trek: Insurrection" and "Star Trek: Nemesis"!!

  • who gives a f**** about those Enterprises?

  • not quite, the enterprise of the first three movies is the Enterprise "refit." The nacelles and hull are different from the original series. Also, the "Aztec panels" where not on the original

  • In all honesty, although the trailer spoiled the destruction of the Enterprise, I bet that only served to pull more people in to see how it happened. On the other hand, it DIDN'T give away even the slightest thing about Spock's resurrection (or David's death) which was actually far more important.

  • I think the name of the movie gave it away :p

  • I can't believe they showed the destruction of the Enterprise in the trailer. It's like how they spoiled showing the ramming of The Enterprise-E and the Scimitar for Nemesis. BIG mistake.

  • Gene Roddenberry was furious that the promo people showed the self-destruct... and yeah, what a stupid decision. Way to ruin the big surprise of the movie.

  • I suspect Paramount probably could have eeked out another million in ticket sales if they hadn't shown that.

I think the destruction scene only showed up on TV once, during the release weekend.

  • Spoiler -- The Enterprise dies at the end!

  • promos sucked back then, this is still a good trailer, the trailer for khan is not nearly as cool as the movie.
