man i used to wait (for ages sometimes) in the taverns in baldurs gate 2 just to hear this, so i could try and play it on my penny whistle. cant believe i stumbled on it here. thanks so much for posting.
This video was filmed in 1197, with a 1 ton wooden camera which quickly engraved the picture using a magnifying glass that concentrated rays of light to burn a roll of goat parchment using the energy of a mule who turned around a wheel... kidding.
Loved this game, first R.P.G. game I can remember where you could actually own a house (which is pretty standard these days.) Admittedly it was built by a Kobold, in an underground dungeon and was smaller than a room in many normal homes, but thats besides the point, I got my house just as promised!
@TheBelzebuddha This music was recorded directly from gameplay footage of the game (Descent To Undermountain), where 0:12 is the sound of a door creak :)
@NeonicProductions I'm playing FF1 for gba. maybe much better than a videogame whose title reminds of a make-up tool for girl. "Did you put your skyrim on?" "Nope" "Here, use mine" *girl-dies
@Dontuwishuwereme100 I've heard what ye've been telling all yer little friends, that ol' Winthrop has a hankering fer a little elven arse every now and then!
Nice. Do you know where can I find more music from Descent to Undermountain? I can't find anywhere. As you said, the game was crap, but the music was very good..
That's correct, but it was first originally used in Descent To Undermountain back in 1997, before Baldur's Gate was released in 1998.
And because of the extremely short period of time the developers were given to make the game, the low budget and poor reception of the game in general, some of the unfinished production of DTU was bought out by the developers of BG, I think :)
@TwelveFortySix I noticed this immediately. The time that i have spent beating the Baldur's Gate series in the three times that I have is pretty redic.
Clever stuff .... who tuned the screechy pipe things though??

@PHXxX Blaming a fart you made on a door is even less believable than blaming it on your dog
valcaron 4 months ago 59
@valcaron Well, for all we know the developers may have used the sound of a fart for the door soundeffect ;) Hehehe

@lppmor try looking for baldur's gate or baldur's gate 2 soundtrack. not sure if there is a way to rip music out of the game cd.
GeorgesVI 11 months ago
This same track was also used in a couple taverns in Baldur's Gate 1.
I believe Bereghost's tavern, the one in the southwestern quadrant of the city, used it.
