I understand where you come from with this comment. Growing up in the 21st century marrying someone that young seems a little odd. But there are a few things you must realise to understand this situation.
The first being, Ayesha (RA) was not forced into this relationship, she married the Prophet (saw) and 3 years later this marriage was consummated at the will of ayesha (RA).
Another thing to understand is in the arab world (before islam came about) marrying someone this young was not an issue as they developed a lot quicker. As a matter of fact when a man married someone who was older then themselves is was made a massive issue of. Oh that's what Christians do, always lie and deny?
