You may want to check out the "tanpura" app in the iPhone app store and in iTunes. It is exquisite and has two tambouras, a drone instrument and a zether like instrument. It is rated 5 stars, almost unheard of.

is it weird that when i hear that particular instrument in tune with other music--i think it's the tanpura--it puts me on a different spiritual frequency? like all of a sudden i just slip into nirvana it's so weird. it just proves something bigger than us (besides the sun) is out there. just listen to its mystere :)

No sitar in this one, I left it with just the drone as I have found it was hard to find that drone sound online and it is such a powerful sound, People can add their own inner melody to it or drift off if they want! Thanks
