Involve the audience instead of having a spectator only show. Watch your choice of music. Enjoy what you're doing, your nerves were quite apparent. Have a goal of making your show memorable and entertaining, not just another magic show that everyone will forget about in two weeks. Always perform as though your life depended on it. Do the best you can and never let them see you sweat.
I respect the fact that you took that first step. Now work on improving things and making it smooth.
Here are my suggestions: work on your routining. You want to make a strong first impression as soon as you enter the stage. The tricks you're using are all pretty amatuer, everyone does the same thing with them. Differentiate yourself by making them your own. Don't be afraid to do something different. Create a theme to your show so that things are somehow tied together rather than simply doing one trick after another. That isn't nearly as entertaining. Use your voice more.
First things first, congratulations for having the courage to get out there in front of a live audience to perform. That takes guts. Second, every performing magician has a first performance somewhere. Yes, this performance wasn't without flaws and yes, it could most certainly be improved upon, but you will learn as you gain more experience.
I will post again with some advice and suggestions that I think will make your show better.
love the comedic references and everything, yes the show was amateur, but hey, I still enjoyed it, and the crowd did too so you clearly sold it. and it's a shame that stubborn tube didn't tie the 3 scarves together haha, never seen it fail before :o
Hi yatesenter.......ja2829 says amateur and bad presentation.....but you know what i hear......cheers !...laughter and suprise.....you know what that means ?....the crowd are enjoying your show.......i dont hear booing or insults....the crowd applauded you loudly throughout......great show !.....ja2829 your comments SUCK !
@ja2829 if it was indeed his first live magic show, then it would almost by definition be 'amateur at best'; people don't generally get paid for their first public performance in any discipline - possibly a girl who has to stand very still against a knife-thrower's board, but the thrower won't be amateur(?)
Nice ;)
