People saying it's not true... are right. I decided to get some numbers, so I did. Instead of downloading 6.1 MBs in 30 seconds, with the 'speed hack', it downloaded about 5.2 MBs in 30 seconds. Yes there are small margins of error but this speed hack just slows down speed to not effectively.

If you don't believe me, just check your download bar, a bar pops up much more slowly than normally, because all Cheat Engine's doing is slowing down Steam and forcing the download to keep a normal rate of download by accelerating the download speed to keep its normal download speed.

You people do know this does absolutely nothing right? SlightyInFlames is correct. This does nothing. Cheat Engine is slowing down Steam so that its going at 0.1 of its normal speed, and since it's downloading it slows down that too. It's actually downloading at the same rate that it would without Cheat Engine. Cheat Engine is slowling Steam to a crawl so that it seems as if it were downloading ten times faster, but it's actually downloading the same amount of information, just more slowly.

Its just changing the refresh rate of the Kb/s so steam increases the time shown because the rate is slower....setting it to 0.1 makes the rate every 20 seconds...therefore you download speed is multiplied to match 20 seconds instead of 1.

@msintelcorei7 stop ur download exit steam go to c:/ program files/ steam and in there look for "ClientRegistry.blob" and delete it. now start steam, and it should be updating. resume ur download. and boom.. i got mine to 1.1mb/s and i usually have slow downloads so you should get good results.. maybe not.. idk lol.

What its really doing is taking 10s downloading (since the processes was slowed down to 1/10th speed) but only displaying it as 1s. So what you would download in 10s (a total of about 10mb/s for me) is being added together and being displayed as 1s

Speed went up. Percentage stayed the same. Explaination: Regardless of whether this 'works' it doesnt actually give you a better speed. It was still going at same speed in the background. It just stopped the Internet Service from communicating with the Steam Service.

just so everyone knows cheat engine does not actually increase download speeds it just changes what you see to say more for example you might be hitting 200kbs you activate cheat engine and hit 20mbs the download will still finish at the same time -_- it does not work, nor do almost any speed altering programs the just mask what the actual download speed is.

trust me i know i have tried almost every program and possible trick out the best thing to do is leave your computer on overnight.

@aameghoo No, it not speed anything up. It's only make u think that it's speeding up but as u can see, your internet get faster a lot and time got slower a lot so it won't change a thing. Example: 100kbps(normal speed) to 1mbps(10x slower hack) so u get 1mb for every second but that 1 second got slowed down 10 time = 10mb/10s = 100kbps.
