@Superfreaxx - poor love had a huge tumor on his pancreas. He had this removed in October 09 and bounced back strong, but then his pancreas started to fail. After a few months of insulin his pancreas just stopped functioning properly so it was time to make that sad decision. He is still very much missed as he was such a cuddly teddy bear of a cat. @Yoshimurha - Hi Thanks for your concern. I have mentioned many times that he suffered a respiratory infection as a kitten and this left him a little snuffly, he is also a short-nosed breed so it sounds more too. Poor Oska has however just had a huge operation, they removed over 1Kg of cystic mass from his abdomen, he also lost his spleen. He has recovered amazingly and is so much happier. He had become very poorly and unhappy. So be assured, he is a very loved, very well vetted pussy cat :o)

Hi there, Oska is a Pedigree British Blue Shorthair.

He had a respiratory infection when he was 8-10 weeks old and he has noisy breathing when relaxed. Apparently the short nose of the breed amplifies this.

He is not at all stuffy nosed. I would suggest you mention it to your vet next time you are there, maybe your cat has an allergy, best to get a vets opinion :o)

Oska has lost lots of weight now, thanks to an expensive vet diet. He is no longer 12.4kg, but a slender 8.4kg, he is now quick enough on his feet to steal even the dogs dinner!

My Britisch shorthair (female) is 5.7 kilo and has to loose some weight. 8.4 is a lot. I think you need you cat to loose some more weight, if not he can get problems with his bones/kidney or can get diabetes. But I think you and Oska did good! 4 kilo is great! Thats a lot for a cat. Good job

No health problems, and vet not at all worried, all tests done and he is perfect condition. I agree another kilo to loose maybe. But he is as tall as a Fox terrier dog so is never gonna be a 6kg cat!

To be honest with you, without scaring you, cats don't snore like this...He might have something stuck in his upper nose canals. It is very cute to hear this but I would take him for a checkup and X-ray.

The comments above do already talk about this. But for your reassurance. Oska is as fit as a fiddle. He had an upper respiratory infection as a kitten, and the breed has a short nose, add to this, he was pretty fat at the time of the film, a recipe for snoring. He has lost loads of weight and the vet is more than happy with him. Surf YouTube some more and you'll find, yes cats do indeed snore like this.
