the dust covering the ice is the result of something burning. Almost all of Greenland is one huge clacier, but it's melting now faster than ever before. Iceland mostly covered with lava and grasslands. : )

I am a realist,I am MORE suspicious of the larger scientific bodies. NASA and the like has its own political and financial agenda. I am not saying that "Global warming" is not happening, only that I dont think we are the primary cause, or that we can, or even SHOULD try and stop it. We have 100 yrs of data, and are trying to say we know whats going on with the geological scale climate change. I am all FOR recycling, cleaner cars, less consumption. But stuff like the Kyoto protocol is INSANE!!
Please trust the thousands of scientists who agree with the anthropomorphic causes of climate change. The speed of the change is unprecedented. As to 100yrs of data, that is just real climate measurement, but only a small part of the data. Just look at the ice core studies from U of Florida. I asked somebody doing this work and they are close to 1 million yrs in the past with their data and it supports our dilemma. We ARE the cause of the greenhouse gas increase(CO2, as well as CH4, and others.
When we have a MILLION years of REAL measurements I will start to believe it. The ice cores and other forms of data are all subject to scientific interpretation which is questionable at best. I believe my own senses, since I was a teenager the Summers are cooler not hotter. And this last year the southern hemisphere was the coldest in a 100 years. In the 70's they were proclaiming we were entering another ice age, in the 90's it went to warming, now its just climate change. Its a crock.

You need to call U of Florida and 30 other cryo labs around the world and tell them their instruments are flawed. Have you looked at the poles lately? Google cryosphere today and check out the Artic Ice. There is plenty of it and its not melting away. Media only show the artic in summer when some of the ice melts but in winter it all comes back. They don't show you that.

I can't understand why there is such a debate over global warming - I mean, regardless of whether or not human pollution is causing climate change, we know that it is bad for us and our Mother Earth. @Giamilton Are you joking? Greenland was named a 1000 years ago by settlers who settled in one of the very small areas that were green during the summer. Almost all of Greenland is one huge clacier, but it's melting now faster than ever before. Iceland has a couple of glaciers that the first settlers probably noticed since they named the island Iceland. But most of Iceland is not ice-covered. Iceland mostly covered with lava and grasslands. : )

CO2 was 7000 ppm during the Cambrian period and nearly 2000ppm during the Jurassic BEFORE man was here! Check out the American Meteorological Society's web site and look up their policy statement on climate change. It's 6 pages long but a good read. They posted it Feb/07 ( no change until some proper science refutes the findings with an update in 2012).

I personally know the head of Cryospheric studies, NASA in Maryland and he has some evidence that is going through the channels before the public knows and he is VERY concerned. If anything, the US admin has been rewriting scientific conclusions for a long while now, to not allow us the full negative. You are misinformed. I am a realist,I am MORE suspicious of the larger scientific bodies. NASA and the like has its own political and financial agenda. I am not saying that "Global warming" is not happening, only that I dont think we are the primary cause, or that we can, or even SHOULD try and stop it. We have 100 yrs of data, and are trying to say we know whats going on with the geological scale climate change. I am all FOR recycling, cleaner cars, less consumption. Please trust the thousands of scientists who agree with the anthropomorphic causes of climate change. The speed of the change is unprecedented. As to 100yrs of data, that is just real climate measurement, but only a small part of the data. Just look at the ice core studies from U of Florida. I asked somebody doing this work and they are close to 1 million yrs in the past with their data and it supports our dilemma. We ARE the cause of the greenhouse gas increase(CO2, as well as CH4, and others.

When we have a MILLION years of REAL measurements I will start to believe it. The ice cores and other forms of data are all subject to scientific interpretation which is questionable at best. I believe my own senses, since I was a teenager the Summers are cooler not hotter. And this last year the southern hemisphere was the coldest in a 100 years. In the 70's they were proclaiming we were entering another ice age, in the 90's it went to warming, now its just climate change. Its a crock.

Have you looked at the poles lately? Google cryosphere today and check out the Artic Ice. There is plenty of it and its not melting away. Media only show the artic in summer when some of the ice melts but in winter it all comes back. They don't show you that.

Yes it is a political issue, but you can't understand global warming with out science. Science does indeed have a place in it, it has a place in everything. No matter what it is, even the most simplest things.
