  • and risk the live of the firemen on board

    oh hhheeeeecccckkkkk no

    its first off stupid

and fire trucks cant go as fast as u think they can on train tracks

  • I would have slammed my foot on the gas pedal!

  • wait, are we in an ambulance, or a fire truck?

  • lazy cunt train. bahahahahahahahahaaha

  • They coulda made it

  • That's a bitch

  • trains should stop!

  • /watch?v=L_5-hdQJTlU&feature=related some sort of same thing, only it's an ambulance and a much shorter train.

  • I would b pissed cause it was a freight train

  • I bet that Engineer felt like an ass.

  • did the train at least try to speed up?

  • @Technoreviews411 trains go at there speed limit, which could some times be up to 80

  • SOUTH SIDE!!!

  • Break through jk nice half response

  • now why doesn't the train have to pull to the right?

  • well... that sucks

  • shit .... I would drive through the rail barrier, stupid fu.... railroad grml

  • "Motha* f*cka*" lol

I run EMS fire in the county west of you guys; lebanon

  • that blows

  • @523rocco I would have said the same.

  • Don't call me radio engine 3.

  • Bad timing indeed .

  • I would have ran it they had more then enough time to get through.. Oh well if they took the gate out they needed to get to the fire.

  • shit that was close!!!!!!!, fortunately stopped in time!!!.....

  • @lokilloxjk2 that wasnt close at all. the train took a good 30 secoinds to get there when the bar came down

  • reading, PA?

  • @louizjj1 yes

  • that sucks!!!

  • curse u train

  • well that sucks. just keep going and bust right through that gate lol

  • @2:58 Thats bull what the hell are the cars following so close for and why couldnt the guys get out and tell them to back the hell up?

  • my old station had tracks in front of the truck bay. It sucks when you can't get any of the trucks out because of a train

  • It always pleasant to see trains in action over firefighters.

  • at 2:09 whats up in the sky .......???????

  • @VK4LA

    Thats called a bird.

  • @indyandyful hhmmm thanks hahahahaha

  • FD? Nope. PD

  • do you work for the FD ?

  • You know it didnt use to be a problem. RDG railroad trains used to highball through town towards the beltline or towards the yard. Unfortunately, Conrail then NS continually reduced rail speed. Now you sit at a train. There once was a time it would fly by and off you went

  • @qlancer Gotta love excepted track.

  • it would have suxed more if u were not the 3rd due

  • that is horrible! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that!

  • if you listen in the first couple of seconds over the radio you hear the cheifs on scene and reports no visual fire so it does not really matter that they got stopped its not like there was any fire burning at that second

  • @NYPDESU13 But what if there had been?

  • man that sucks ass....just lost for words on this situation...lol...at least the ladder truck was able to make it through

  • I like that yeal on the truck adds a nice touch

and our station has a rescue truck no ladders a equipment truck and three engines

  • that is fucking crazy, its almost fate the one got across

  • Did they make it to the call

  • @MIKECNW Why not show what happens in real life?

    You'd rather hide the trvth?

(Do you believe in myth and fairytales which is what all religions are?)

Too bad the engine could not go to the left lane and pass before the gate descended into that lane.

Signal activation is to be at least 25 seconds before train arrival at the grade crossing.

Did the locomotive engineer speed up his train to clear the crossing sooner?

  • @robertgift no the engineer probably just decided it was a better idea to stop at the tracks then go around cause odds are it would give other civilian drivers that its ok for them to do it to.

  • @Lawmaster1702 No. Civilian drivers know that emergency vehicles can disregard traffic laws which civilians are not permitted to ignore. If civilians choose to break the laws, they suffer the consequences.

The engineer knows better than I whether he could make it without breaking the gate and damaging his apparatus.

Wonderful if the train engineer sped up the train?

  • @robertgift while civilians know emergency vehicles can disregard some laws you and i both know that that won't stop them from doing it.

  • @Lawmaster1702 I learned all emergency vehicles must actually Stop and "ask permission" to enter the intersection, even if they have a green light.

I agree with your "...would give other civilian drivers that it's okay..."

When in an emergency vehicle, NEVER become the point of emergency yourself.

It's always against the law to pass a bus with flashing red lights.

A flashing red light always means stop.

    For the blind, bells

    For the deaf, lights

The engineer is the vehicle driver/controller.

  • @Zebrails while they teach that emergency vehicles must stop...that's not what the law says. the law says that emergency vehicles must merely slow down at a red light or stop sign...and that we can just go through green lights. however, you are right about stopping for school buses. we must stop for school buses that have red lights flashing until the driver gives us the OK to proceed.

  • Shit Happens, i guess. A train can not stop, even at this slow speed.

  • Why do we wanna show the FD being stopped by a train?

The thought of that haunts me.

  • man that's gotta suck big time. our trains over here in new zealand aren't generally as long and usually travel a bit faster than that.

  • Wow. Great stop was my initial thought. Nice video. Thank you for sharing.

    Cupertino, Ca

  • I can see the engineer in that C40-9W staring over at you guys.

  • At least you guys stopped thats all that matters, the best thing is that the tiller had made it through, since you were 3rd due it would be worse if you were first due, it still sucks.

  • thats wat i want to do

  • its like cops only its firefighters

  • Dont you just hate when that happens? haha

  • I keep hearing the Price is Right fail horn in my head as i watch this

  • XD.....

  • the fire truck can still go when the gate was still open!

  • @aryowailangitoyo97

Not nescessarily, In reading the trains speeds vary... it's a law the trains have to abide by. but if they were to assume that the train was going 10 mph/kph and it wasnt...well....

  • Unlucky.

  • talk about a kick in the balls lol

  • they should build a bridge for you to get over the tracks if there is a fire or mva on the other side

  • that sucks big time. stupid train

  • @mb164822 Not the trains fault

  • Awesome turn by the Tiller operator at 1:07!

  • Where I live we spent the past 10 months with ONLY at-grade crossings. A main UP line runs right thru our town and cuts the town in half for 3 hours a day at least. It was a little scary to rely on a fire department that was on the other side of the tracks. I've gotta say, I'm happy the overpass reconstruction is over.

  • This is Reading, PA, right?

If it is, this is the same train that goes through Lebanon?

  • hold on if they had jumped the gates y wouldnt othere people if they see a fire truk do it y no them u ass holes

  • i think they could have made that they saw the gate coming down and panicked so what if you woulda hit the gates the train was way back yet anyways now you gotta sit thare and feel like a dumbass

  • Remember a fire truck is longer and higher than a normal car. I would bet that the crossing arm was already at the height of the fire truck when the saw it going down

  • Thats how people die. Not to mention it was a B.S. call from the sounds of it. Breaking the arms of the gates would have really pissed some people off and for what? And why would you feel like a dumbass? You cant control the train schedule.

  • True but you think they would have a better system right now. the train should contact dispatchers or the dispatchers shouls know when a train is passing. Cause in reading the traing cuts the entire city in half, and if they knew ahead of time they could have too the bridge. If it were a confirmed fire

  • that sucks

  • you at least give 'em them the middle finger?

  • Lol, well, i'm not saying you did anything wrong but you totally could have beat that!!! Its just an unknown. Same thing happened to me however, I was responding in an ambulance to a neighboring city for a F3 tornado that touched down. It killed 1 and about 10 others were transported. I think the train is what kept us from being able to transport one. Oh well...

  • ya luckily the other engine made it past so someone got there. sadly what can u do at a train....nothing

  • 4:05,well we may as well stop the video...stop the what? the video..

  • and of course the train has to move slower than hell. we got a line running through my town and this happens about twice a month.

  • Do u make the response or get re-called b4 the train passed?

  • o my here in mississuga ontario canada mississauga fire dept 105 take another route to the emergency

  • Luckily you werent first due on scene!

  • Strength and Honor

  • is this a paid department??

  • same thing happened to me when i did work experience with East Midlands Ambulance Service but we wont on a shout we were taking a few wagons to the main repair shop in nottingham and i asked the bloke who was driving what they do if they ever come across a level crossin whilst the barriers are down and he said just sit here on blues and wait. i reckon there should be a system in place so we can warn oncoming trains cause someones life is more important than bloody freight or commuters i think.

  • I'm gaurenteeing the train would have stopped, but for them to put it into emergany stop and stop the train in time for the crossing, they would still be blocking the crossing. Then they would have to rebuild air pressure before moving, so it would have been safer, and quicker for the train the just keep going. But that still sucks about the timing.

  • cool video

  • well at least you didnt be stupid and break the gate. Did the call that you get turn out to be a fire, or just a box?

  • man thats sucks, at the the tiller got past it. That happens to our ambulances in Lebanon city sometimes too. I believe it's the same rail track actually lol

  • The same thing happened to my dept while enroute to a working structure. Luckily we got a second station on the other side of the tracks now...

  • that beond sux they should have another hall on the other side of the tracks to prevent that form happening

  • they should at lest warn the railroad that fire is responding and should slow down for they don't delay the fire personal

  • they should've planned fire stations around the railroad, you cant just slow down a mile long train..

  • It would take a freight train going full speed almost a mile to make a full stop so.. he'd have to know some time in advance.

  • You're right! But I mentioned that it would only warn trains unless it's too close in such manner that it wouldn't stop on time.

  • A system should be invented in order to stop train from going through a level crossing if fire service would cross a railway crossing, unless of course if the train is too close to the crossing in such manner that it wouldn't stop on time.

  • that system is already invented...they call it a bridge.

  • wow that was a nice quick stop

  • 4':07 You might as well stop the video!. That stinks.

  • Damn that sucks man, I'd be pissed too.

  • Who the fuck are you talking to ass hole

  • sucks the tiller made it and you didnt

  • Doh!!!!!

  • 2:13 "we're screwed now"

    LOL

    Yeah, that sucks...

  • is this reading penn.?

  • 10-4

  • lol

  • @l1tilr wow it's beautiful there

  • K5LA horn on that train

  • At 2:23 starts never ending story .

  • Comment removed

  • i should probably learn how to spell eh? i ment reading pa? nice Response...da screw the train......nice response anyways

  • you guys did do the right thing, by stopping, its happen to us before, sucks, i feel ya

  • I see flashing lights up ahead on the left?

Is that where the call was?

  • ive got a question. I am planning on becoming a fire fighter when im older, and am going to fire explorers in about 2 weeks.

but i thought it would be cool to know, what does just a normal fire station carry? how many engines, trucks, ladder trucks ect. im talkig regular fire station...

  • Hard to define anything as 'normal' in the fire service. A fire 'company' is usually one piece of apparatus, preferably with four personnel. A preferred Station might be an Engine and Ladder/Rescue with an Officer. Most departments have more Engines so they often are housed alone

  • well, man stations usually carry 2 ambulances and 2 engines and a ladder and battalion.

  • *main

  • what is a box alarm we aint got those down here

  • yes, a 'phantom' box assignment for an elderly high rise. there are street boxes also from the old physical box locations

  • should have just floored the gas you had time

  • what makes you think your better were all fire fighters you can ask any REAL firefighter it doesnt matter your system if you get the job done you get it done and if your a frie fighter i would hate to be on your company cause you seem like the pussy that gets scared and ditches them if it gets a little hot

  • I know where it was, if you would have read all of them you would see I was talking about the Redneck who asked what a Box was, because he was a moron, this was not about this Video.

  • PA is not in the NW rather the NE, maybe you should go back to the 3rd grade.

  • stay out of it....

  • i love the old impeller sirens, nothing sounds like them anymore.

  • If they would not have let the tower go first they both would have made it.

  • LMAO that REALLY sucks... like, that was a SMART idea to notify the other trucks to watch out :D

  • THATS HAS TO SUCK

  • damn train

  • i was heading home and our train held up a fire truck

  • my first emergency responce was halted by a train we had rescue 18 grass 23 and commander stuck waiting for the train to pass during tropical storm fay.

we laughed waved at each other and talked while the train was passing all in all not a bad to meet new people.

  • you could of made it

  • He could have, but safety first. Dead FFs can't help you when your house is burning down!

  • Oh my gosh!! I sure feel sorry for you guys!!

  • this happens to the ambulance alot. it sucks

  • that sucks!

    did u still make it??

  • S-L-O-W-E-S-T train EVER!!!

  • Norfolk Southern runs major hauls from NE Pennsylvania, through Reading, then down to Philadelphia. They have to run slow in Reading, as it goes through residential areas. No such thing as a short train up there!

  • well at least the ladder still got to the call on time, good thing both of the trucks didn't get stopped by the train. out of all times it has to happen then...

  • we got stopped going to a medical. talk about it really sucks. we were gonna sit their with the siren blaring, but we decided not to.

  • Cool video, shame the speed limit for the trains in town is so slow.

  • i hate getting stuck by that train on penn st. and i'm only a civilian i can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you guys.

  • lol

  • man that sucks. its gotta be a little embarrassing too. but to make matters worse the thing is going like 15 mph. this happens to the department by my house sometimes. as a matter of fact it happened not to long ago and it a coincidence it was e3 also.

  • excellent driving awesome video

that train is like having blue balls!

  • Nice video. Sucks about the train. Thanks for posting though........

  • That HAS to suck

  • man thats enough to piss off the pope... that would have sucked even more if that was a worker...but u guys did the right thing good response up until the train came

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh man, that's classic. That had to suck though. Nice response up until then lol.

  • ahahahahaha "all units be advised there is a train coming trhough" that sucks....

  • Hot Tiller..

Atleast it wasn't a working fire.

  • Of all the luck...

  • Almost removed the gate... couldn't see the flashing lights?

  • if you notice, they came on two flashes before the gate came down. a little quick.

  • Nice

  • That sucks dude!! I run with Blandon and that happens all the time and its never the fast trains they are always a mile long and going like 10mph.

  • That sucks. Good job stopping though. It's better then getting hit.

  • OH man, that sucks!!!
