ummm.. TNCM and SXM are the same thing!! TNCM is the ICAO code, and SXM is the IATA code. When you book a flight with an airline, they use IATA codes!
One of the worst pains I've ever felt in my life (the smell of the engine, the heat of the fuel, the sand and bits of shell/rocks pounding on your bare skin, etc.)! It was one of the highlights of my vacation, but I'm not sure if I'll ever do it again. I stood RIGHT behind the Continental (737-700) and got picked up, dragged head over heels, and dragged out to sea. I must have been thrown 50 feet. It was hysterical, but I was in soo much pain!
The island belongs for the half to the Netherlands and for the other half to France. That's why the most of the clips are with Air France or KLM planes

My dad says the ppl that stand behind and get blown by the jet blast, is pure stupidty, you know if those engines were to kick up a rock, and it hit ur head, it would go right through your head.

haha yup, a little rock or something would become a projectile. the safety distance to a 737 is at least 170 metres, at full throttle, 185 yards. And for a 747 i would say its a bit over 200 yards.. you still feel the storm though:P

you could have a nice BBQ if they'd hit the brakes and keep full throttle for half an hour, I mean, wouldn't you get nice smoked sausages?
Jesteria78 3 years ago
Keep the engines at full throttle for that long and the only thing you'll BBQ is the engines.

You have to be pretty dumb to stand behind jet blast. Little bits of debris could injure you're eyes.

I think that 1. A380's are way too big for those taxi ways. I dont even know how they navagate through that airport.
soccerlover12354 3 years ago
the airport isn't big enough for a A380. taxi ways need to be at least 100 feet wide (FAA rule) for that Fugly thing
