Saw Woody twice with Mule and twice with The Allman Bros. One of the best bass players that ever lived. Also one of the nicest person Ive ever met. Warren and Matt too......Long live Allen Woody
My 1st show was a private concert for a friend's bday on a small farm in Nashville, Ga. Less than 100 people there. It was amazing!! What a fantastic night it was!!
Mulk, we probably know each other. I was searching for any memorbelia from that show as I was there as well and close to the family that owned that farm. Jimmy Herring opened up there and the Mule closed it down. Great show.
The greatest trio since Cream and Rush! One of the only bands I've seen besides the Dead that can achieve that orchestral sound. And Warren always seems to be channeling something
greater the same way Jerry did. The music just oozes out of the man's pores! And Woody--second only to Berry Oakley as my favorite bassist. Da Mule!!!
i agree holdencaustic, after hearing Woody i put down the guitar and bought a bass. i will always love MULE, but with out the Wood there are not, and will never be the same. He was the Thunder with the rainstorm. RIP Allen Woody.
I've seen Mule 6 times, ABB once, and on Easter Sunday I will see Warren with The Dead in NC. I got goosebumps watching this.. i have them as I type.. Thank you for the post
Gov't Mule : One of,if not THE best live jammers out there today or EVER! Incredible musicianship! I've seen Warren play with other bands,he's amazing.Matt Abts is an ANIMAL on the drums, and gawd knows we will all miss and never forget Mr.Allen Woody!!!!
Warren Haynes can flat tear UP that guitar, and sings awesome, too. G. Mule really rocks! They do the Christmas Jam in N.C., where Warren's from, every year, and donates the money to charity. Gotta give him great credits for giving back to those who worship him....
Where does Warren get that fat, thick tone? Like ordering bacon & eggs, but getting a whole hog and the hen house - all in one. And Woody on bass can't be touched.
I assume you're talking about Bernie Worrell. While he was great on "With a Little Help From My Friends" I don't think so. I want a 3 piece Mule, like the old days.
i luv dis song the band da music da sound the performance da vid & long live the great Allen Woody cause He kicked some real heel on dat Bass Guitar! i can't wait 2 get His RUMBLEKAT Epiphone Bassguitar! =0)
Wow this is now Rare as poor Woody passed. I collected this song from Itunes and really love it. Hope this vid stays on for a long time. Great clip, thanks! I love Haynes!
Probably one of the best [blues/rock] band of the late 90's ! And surely the best guitarist ever ! Warren is sooooooo good ! But the most amazing is the kind of alchemy between the 3s ! I just can't wait to see them when they gonna come in France ! And a real respect for Mr Allen Woody :'( !
I missed seeing them in a small resterant/ Bar in 98. But jumped on summer sessions tour99. I got to see them five time on my way out to Calf. A show at the Red Rock and one at The greek Theater in Berkley. The ling I remember most was the bikers. I always hung out with the bikers they made the show so fun. And they would leave as soon as Mule was off the stage.. hated the hippie shit. I fell in love with Allen Woodey. What a loss to us all:(
Well, the ALLMAN BROS. were not going to record anything new with Warren Haynes. So, He naturally formed his own band. This is the result. I love WARREN!
Yea Baby , I remember when they played those little clubs and were as tight as piss elm bark . I am so glad I turned on to them early . Thanks Toastie !

When people ask you what a "Jam Band" is, show them this because Mule was THE Jamming Band from start to finish!!!

The only reason we have other bands in this world is so that we have someone to open for Gov't Mule !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

old school mule was the best MULE. I hope the new guy brings some of it back. IMO they need to get rid of Danny Lewis too.
