  • what material did you use to make the helmet?

  • Quick question - is it really hard to see out the visor after spraying the VHT on it, i know you showed it on the camera but on a ratio of 1-10 how good is your vision with it on

  • @Gamer2Gamers It depends on how much you put and how smooth it goes on, but on average I would say about a 7. Visibility goes way down in low light conditions though so it's not perfect.

  • what did you make the helmet out of

  • did u ever completely finish the SMG?

  • @ridafett133 All except for making the stock slide back and forth.

  • could you post a tatoriol

  • do u use pepekura to make the beginig of helmet becase i'm trying to find a way without it

  • @lau131528 On this one I used pepakura but I have built two helmets with cardboard.

  • hey, is plastic good as a visor like a promising product?

  • @DIGITALXxXDRAGON Mine works okay.

  • hey did you say you used plastic for the visor?

  • you can get the visor in any craft store for like 2.00 and its like 2 feet of plexi glass

  • do you think the armor will stand a game of aisrsoft?

  • @thecrismaster099 It might but I don't recommend it because it could chip/shatter.

  • hey what website did you say in the video i could really understand what you said i want to learn how to make some.

  • @darklengend44 Check out the 405th.com forums for some really great tutorials and instructions.

  • Sweeet!!!

  • How exactly did you make the shape for the visor? And could i get the name of the place you got the paint for the visor.Thx

  • @Carmine694 I just free handed a sketch of the visor and cut it out of plastic. The paint I got was from the online VHT Niteshades website, but I've seen it at Auto Zone once.

  • how did you cut the side vents out and how did you form the visor is it just hot glued? i cant tell cuz i dont ahve speakers right now

  • noobie here you should make a vid on how you rounded out your helmet or maybe like a 2 min explanation

  • what did u use to make that

  • when building it with card did you use a hot glue gun or glue stick and does it matter?

  • if i dont have a dremel would like a hobby knife or something work? like i have a cutting wheel but its from one of those big ass dremels.

  • What Pepakura file did you use to make this helmet?

  • kool

  • did you mold this in clay?

  • @cr1tterp0wer No the base for this helmet is a cardstock pepakura model that I downloaded from halocostumingwiki and then assembled.

  • @xXBocephusXx

awesome. as far as sanding goes, how where you able to sand such fine lines.

  • @cr1tterp0wer If you mean the detail lines, I just carefully cut them into the bondo with my dremel tool using the reinforced cutting wheel bit.

  • Nice

  • I used masking tape to join the bits of cardstock together on the inside and out side is this a good way to join it?

  • @MrJrod18 Thanks man.

  • did you use pepakura to make this?

and how did you make the visor

  • @narubaku Yes I used pepakura to make this and the visor is just some clear plastic I bought at a craft store and tinted with VHT Niteshades spray paint which you can buy online at their website. Just Google it.

  • @xXBocephusXx ok thnx

also how did you strengthen/harden the helmet

  • @narubaku Watch my tutorials on how to resin and how to fiberglass to learn how to make helmets strong.

  • @xXBocephusXx ok thnx

  • epic

  • hey man i was wondering if all your helmets are wearable

  • @halo3fan119 Yeah man. All of my helmets are wearable.

  • @xXBocephusXx hey can you tell me how to make the helmet and the silenced smg so I can make one myself and be an ODST spartan for halloween this year

  • @Rex4247 Watch my tutorials and you can find out how to make helmets. The gun is pretty much the same process just cut out layers of cardboard and glue them together and add details. Like my SMG or Laser Rifle.

  • Awesome odst helmet. I wish I could make one!

  • can u make me some i would pay - like £100 JUST for the helmet

  • @sls567 Sorry I'm not selling or doing commissions.

  • @xXBocephusXx what size did you put on peprakura for this helmet?

  • nice i wish i lived neer u coz i wud show off 2 all my friends but i live in england

  • Where do you find PVC pipe?

  • @itorresv You can buy PVC pipe at any hardware store such as: Ace Hardware, Lowe's, or Home Depot.

  • it looks pretty good but i wan to show you my recon armor and see if you guys like it

  • hey bocephus, thanks to u, i just finished my pep, it came out exactly as i wanted. I wanted to know if you can give me tips or make a tutorial on how to do those "small" details using bondo, like the ridges on the chin, and the ridges on top of the vizor and next to the vents. thanks alot

  • @k11yle Just try to get a small square of bondo in the area you want to add details to and then draw the details on to get them right before you go cutting. Then once you have them how you want them, cut them in with the dremel tool. You can get dremels pretty cheap at hardware stores.

  • make a tut! your awesome! you should make more. great job.

  • Wth is 405th?

  • @itorresv The 405th is a community of armor builders dedicated to building Halo armor and weapons and much more. There are many talented people there that can help you to make some awesome armor.

  • should u add 2 inches to your hight or more or less

  • @lcfirez It depends on the helmet. Some have higher tops than others. Just make an educated guess. That's what I did.

  • ohh and i did what u said i added to my original head hight, 2 inches is good right, or more or less, im srry to bother u, i just found out 6 hrs of work was all wasted

  • thank you so much for ur help!!! i only hae one more question which is very easy to answer. can u send me link for odst download for pepakura, the one that YOU used. There are 2, smooth=hard, or not so smooth=easier. send me link plzzzz! thanks

  • @k11yle I don't remember the file I used for my ODST. If you're not really good or experienced at the bondo stage then I recommend trying the smoother pep file, but if you're good at bondo then go for the easier pep file. I think that's what I did, because I hate pepakura.

  • What scale hight did u use, I'm driving myself crazy thinking it's to small. I'm 14 and I used 165. Plz respond, apreciate it!

  • Cool, I'm making ma own silenced smg, but how do u get the silencer to look so smooth?

  • @itorresv after reinforcing it, simply sand it, theres videos and tutorials on that topic

  • @itorresv I used a piece of PVC pipe to make the silencer.

  • ive downloaded the pepakura now how do i get 2 know how 2 make it

  • kid you are amazing wow

  • you use aqua resin on the inside and outside and use fiber glass on the inside

  • Im making a helmet (the MKVI helmet) how do you make it hard so it dont tear or brakes?

  • @2martykiller1 look up videos on fiber glassing and resining halo armor.

remember fiber glass inside, resin out. if u fiber glass the outside, u will loose detail.

  • wow those look great! :)

It makes me want to start making one!

  • @nintendoboy36 its worth it!

  • You should put an LED light in the indentations.

  • sweet man sweet if you like halo you should watch my vids believe me

  • Occasionally.

  • hey dude pls tell me wut was ur head height

    width

depth pls tell me because i dont know to to measure it in MM with a measuring tape pls tell me

  • So then just measure your head in inches and then convert it to millimeters...

  • Hey i was just wondering what order you do resining in. I have seen resin outside then fiberglass inside then out what do you suggest?

  • You resin the outside lightly, then you fiberglass the inside, and then you resin the outside again and then the inside back and forth until you're satisfied with the strength.(Usually only once)

  • can u give me a link to this pep file

  • If I used a bike helmet and cardboard and did paper around it do you think that might work?

  • You can try but I HIGHLY recommend pepakura.

  • pepakrua.

  • did u use clay to add detail

  • I carved the bondo, and the pepakura had some detail already.

  • @xXBocephusXx Wu. Kind of roterary tool do you use? I'm thinking about gettig one but I don't know where and also how much does it cost?

  • @number1sfgiantsfan I just have a very cheap dremel tool that I got at Home Depot. I'm not sure what kind it is, but I'm sure Home Depot should have a pretty good and cheap dremel.

  • wat do u usee to resen it

  • You buy fiberglass resin to do the resining process.

  • i would pay good money for that

  • you should add lights inside the helmet that shine on the visr to reveal your face and make a switch in the back to turn the lights on and off

  • awsoe but how in the lards name can you make this so easily!?!?!?!

  • nice helmet man. I started a mark Vi suit, but thought that an odst suit would be more fitting for a fan film a few friends of mine are planning on making. I like the smg too. it's pretty accurate to the game, especially for cardboard!

  • can someone make me a odst helmet and smg , full suit if possibal, i will pay for it with money i have, pm me if you are interested and tell me how much it will cost

  • do you fiber glass it

  • how do you get all the details? do you use clase and just put lines in it? can someone help me out please

  • Cut the lines into the bondo.

  • so you just cover your helmet with bondo and then sand? what do you use to cut the details?

  • hmmmm... how do i put this? uhhh, oh yeak! ahem, DDDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMM SON!!!!

  • lol thanks

  • how did you make the helmet?

  • look at timmycons helmets and armors

  • where did you buy that paint for the visor? Its exactly what I've been looking for

  • I used VHT Niteshades paint that I found online. Just Google VHT Niteshades and you'll find the website.

  • with what material do you make the visor???

  • Plastic used for making stepping stones.

  • That's pretty cool!

    Good Work :D

  • Thanks

  • how do you spell the website

  • how do you size it

  • I measure the height of my head and then add like 3-5cm to that measurement for the height of the helmet. There's different ways though.

  • dude i want the helmet and smg

  • Hey xXBocephusXx, is the SMG and the ODST helmet your showing right now the final product?

    P.S I subscribed.

  • No, definitely not. Check out my channel for the video "Finished ODST helmet and preview of Hayabusa" for the finished product.

  • can i buy one???????

  • Not right now.

  • ehat was it made out of

  • Lot's of stuff, like cardstock, fiberglass, resin, and bondo.

  • did you use pepakura?

  • Yep.

  • this might sound noobish but after you pepp it...then what, thats as far as i got :P

  • I'm making a tutorial soon so you can check that out but after the pep stage you have to resin it.

  • dude.. dont worry about te scratches.. it gives it detail

  • I'm talking about all the small sand scratches. I'm leaving all the big ones for weathering and detail.

  • oh... ok

  • oh...ok... can you make a tutorial for this.. this is tite..

  • Maybe if I make another helmet. (I'm currently working on a Hayabusa so maybe I'll get around to it sometime)

  • ok man... sounds goo =)

  • how come everyone has a brown-red tint to their visors? the one in the game is more of a silver/blue.

  • Probably because the WETA version from Halo 3 Landfall has a redish-brownish tint to it.

  • ill buy it.

  • i wish i could use that helmet for my motorcycle

  • That would be cool.

  • thats fuckin sweet iam starting a project of my own and iam looking at videos on what they look like and how to make them so if anyone can hlep me with that iad greatly appreciate it

  • It's disgusting how much I would pay for that haha.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to make my own :(

  • lol. I don't have a lot of time either that's why its taking me forever to finish this one.

  • amazing r u gonna make a vid on how to do it?

  • was this pepakura?

  • In the beginning yes this was pepakura.

  • Sweet ! just in time for the game too

  • I know right!

  • very nice, well done, what kind of plastic did u buy? and how much was it?

  • I bought some plastic for making your own stepping stones. I just had to cut it into the right shape. It was about $10.00.

  • cool

  • Thanks.

  • what items did u use and what board to make helmet so that u can wear

  • really cool!!! :D

  • Really Thanks. lol

  • is there any chance that u can teach us how u make the odst helmet
