@buttersworth456 K5 is a model desgination used by both Chevy and GMC. They are the same truck. I like mine a little classier wearing a bowtie though.
I just got a 79 I wanted to make into a project like this. Cept the cock sucker who sold it to me neglected to say it would only drive in 4 low loc. Now i've gotta get the gears worked on in it.
Your T-case is junk. It's the NP203 with is the part time/full time 4WD transfercase. Unless it has a part time kit in it, which makes it a part time only T-case by removing the diff inside of it, and making 2WD an option rather than 4 high/low unlocked, it's absolute junk. Just drop the tranny and get an NP205 or NP208 and you'll be much happier.

I have had a big block sitting around for about a year now that I finally have use for, now all I need is a TH400 or a 700r4, and I'll prolly go with the np208. I'm a little upset by all my older transmissions though, I wish I knew which ones had highway gears. My old silverado with a 350 turbo ran at like 3500 rpms goin' 70.

I'm pretty sure that all TH350s and TH400s were 3 speeds without overdrive, but I believe the TH400 had an overdrive kit for it.

they dont have overdrive which is fine bc its like double the prices to rebuild on overdrive transmissions
only trans tht came in blazers with overdrive is the 700r4

@patches1223 I was looking at the 700r4 transmissions from monster, they got a lot of good reviews. A bit pricey, but a 3 year warranty says a lot.
