Can you enlighten us with you knowledge if Magyar culture is different from Huns or not. How Magyars learned bow design before Huns arrival in 4th century ? Did you read it in history that In europe some tribes were using composite recurve bows like this one around 9th century B.C. so it is 3000 yo replica ?
The black fletching is called the cock feather. The place you nock the arrow is called the nocking point and is can be mark with thread, to do this you should us a Bracing height gauge but you can just do it by eye.
there is no windows on traditional bows. so it does not matter which side you shoot. they say in ancient times there were as many left-handed people as right-handed.
i always wonder if you could go back in a time machine, how a replica would stand up to the real deal? just a thought. what bow would hungarians shoot from horseback back then?
there are basically 2 expectations a replica should live up to. tradition and precision. with more and more people doing archery with replicas like this, the demand for precision is getting even stronger. some replicas are now better than the originals, i think. and then there are the composite ones...
I'm guessing this is new technology in Hungary lol

I'm really interested in seeing how to make a recurve bow exactly like that, and I'm also curious about its range. Thx for uploading this vid!

Hi there. just wondering if you would put like some kind of marking on the string so you would know exactly where to place the nock of the arrow.
Thanks
