I am happy to introduce you darling. Thank you for watching, commenting and thank you very much for translating. I want the comments in other languages, but I really appreciate your translations!!!
As Smokey395 I never heard about this painter, but I think his work is very interesting and your video, as allways, so interesting. Congratulations again, kisses.
very cool- I knew of Hoddler's symbolist work, but not the more straight-forward portraiture. You've put together a great collection- I've always thought the poses looked a little unnatural & forced. What do you think?
I don't feel as if the poses are unnatural at all. Did not most painters stage their works? I see a lot of flow in his mythical fantasy art nouveau works.
ah, the beauty of art- we all bring our own stuff to it & see with different eyes. I guess I unfairly compare him to Klimt & Schiele (not that his stuff sometimes didn't look unnatural) I seem to recall that the hand gestures had special meaning(?), but I'm not sure. I have a similar problem w/ another painter of this era- Bocklin- wonderful landscapes, clunky, kitcshy figures. It truly is all in the eye of the beholder.
Beautiful Brenda, not heard of Ferdinand Hoddler before, very powerful painitngs. I saw your vid of Edward Hopper and Cezanne and have been looking for more. Thankyou. The music I know I love but the painitngs are a revelation. Smokey395

Bello Brenda!
