  • Fact still remains that you ARE in the equivalent of the crying room at a church. And the second that the professionals need the space for real disaster communications instead of a disaster of communications done by the local wackers, you will be standing outside the EOC in the rain.

  • @ohiodesperado I sure hope so. I'm sure I'll have other concerns besides manning the Superdome.

  • Hey Hugo....what are we seeing here at the 1:15 mark? Is that the little room where they stuff the Hams? LOL Through the glass there is a huge cavernous space with a lot of people, computers, data/comm, jumbo-trons, etc. And you are filming from this claustrophobic room with a few radios, an old couch, and a picture that's fallen from the wall. WTF!! Is this how they treat "the help"?? LOL

  • @RadioAmateurK1ROL Well, think about it. Those, very many, different departments are thrown together and we can close the blinds and turn off the speaker to that. We can go into the big room but they are not supposed to go into the radio shack. There shouldn't be more than a few net operators in there during a real event. We were just all piled in there because we had access passes, LOL. It was brand new then and there is more equipment now.
