  • WINTER MONTHS = cold intercoolers XD!!!

  • i have a simular setup but wit kelfords 264, how much whp did it make?

  • 1 word: SICK

  • @terkrgr

    Thanks man I appreciate it.

  • with a proper exhaust this could sound so much better, greddy tic or tomei would be better than the ebay junk. you drive an evo not a civic.

  • @drdouche1

What is it with you people? Before opening your mouth try to understand how performance vehicles work. A Greddy TIC has a resonator on it and on top of that is at least $600. A tomei TI is a lot more than that. I use my car for what it's made for and thus I don't need to impress the STANCE crowd.

  • make a fly by

  • @jakec4523

I will in the summer time. Currently I am going through various modifications on the vehicle. ;)

  • beast

  • @NissanRacer87

    Thank you!

  • Gonna be time for new bearings soon :/

  • @camcam352

    No...

  • people are asking what color blue this is....

i own a Eclipse gs w/ evo 8 head swap and gtx35r turbo. dynoed at 623whp.

the blue is called B12 saphire blue.

  • @reaferhead420

    It's Electric Blue Pearl..

  • @nolimitoutlaw

This color was offered on 05 Evo V/// to Evo IX.

03-04 were Blue By You (BBY).. Plain and simple blue.

05 V/// to Evo IX were Electric Blue Pearl (EB or EBP). Shades from Light blue to Dark blue to purple depending on lighting. In dim yellow/orangish street light people would often confuse my Evo as it had purple paint.

08-2010 Evo X Octane Blue Pearl. (OB or OBP)

Doesn't get as dark as EBP. Kind of seems like stuck between BBY and EB w/ pearl.

  • these vids are great..but give no justice to the look or sound of these cars...awesome though

  • @GreedyEvo

    Thank you

  • where are u from? is the winters really cold or somert

  • @aprillia1223

I am from IL and yes the winter months are really cold. I love it though!

  • The idle is not unstable because of the weather, lol. The idle is unstable because those 272 camshafts are way too big for the other applications you have towards the engine. 272 is hard to tune in when you are running stock turbo, so it will idle like shit just to make power at top end. It will run like shit down low though.

  • @drewsie17ix most kelfords sounds like this. Kelfords and GSC's are aggressive cams and its a common thing. Even on bigger turbo applications this will happen

  • ive got a 2005 evo but mine is an evo 9 how can yours be an 8? maybe only australia has the 2005 evo 9s

  • i think you need a bigger wing. how big do you need? dam

  • @k1nGzSt3r Just putting it out there, that is the stock wing.

  • @bllstrt6 shit my bad i didnt really paid attention from the angel view it look stretched out

  • @k1nGzSt3r Its all good

  • Your valve steam seals are leaking or the turbo seals on the exhaust side, typical start up smoke puff.

  • Comment removed

  • what BHP is this?

  • 26 pounds on a big 16g turbo? why dont you just use a hair dryer while ur at it. thats way to much heat at that psi with that turbo

  • Where did you get your kelfords 272's for 425$?? Please help!!

  • What color blue is this car?

  • @oscarnevarez13 It is electric blue sir, not the blue by you.

  • he spent 600$ on kelford cams but bought a eBay exhaust?

  • @TheBrinkRyan Sorry I didn't find the need to spend at least $700 on JDM bling when it nets an average of 10-15hp at max. What I did spend money on is a down pipe which I got for fairly cheap. My Kelford's cost me $400 shipped to my house. I wouldn't expect ignorant folks to understand. ;)

  • @EbEvoVIII wich car has better gas mileage a 2005 evo 8 or a 2006 wrx sti

  • @EbEvoVIII Were the cams new? If so do you mind telling me where you got them for $400 shipped? :O

  • @Nebrida23

You can get these cams off of evolutionm man.

  • @EbEvoVIII

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I miss my EB V///. But currently enjoying my AS IX :).. Still, EB>AS..any day. lol

Waiting for Cosworth M2s to go in, along with other parts that are collecting dust in my garage and trunk.

  • @nolimitoutlaw

How are your Cosworths working out for you?

  • @EbEvoVIII

haven't had time to go put em in yet. But in the meantime, I have been buying a lot of parts :devilhorns: hehehe...

I will be posting a vid when everything is together. Check out my vid on my channel of my EB V/// when I started modding it. It had basic mods at the time.

  • @EbEvoVIII

Search Vivid Racing dot Com with this name "TurboXS Catback Exhaust System Mitsubishi EVO VIII IX 03-07"

See just look around and you could've had a sweeter sounding exhaust. Under $600 with shipping.... So you didn't have to spent "...at least $700".

  • @cholzbaugh

Once again a cat-back does not net you hp on a turbocharged engine. The down pipe and test pipe/high flow cat is what makes the difference.

  • @TheBrinkRyan piping is piping...

  • @TheBrinkRyan I did the exact same thing, piping is piping, but i got my kelford 272's for $425

  • @TheBrinkRyan lol you have to busget these cars aint cheap thats on him

  • @TheBrinkRyan lol you have to budget these cars aint cheap thats on him

  • @TheBrinkRyan Pipe is pipe. Is a thousand doller exhaust system going to be better then a 300 dollar one with the bends? No it sure isnt.

  • Why is this Evo's Idle so unstable???

  • @BONG475 It isn't unstable. It was a cold start-up.

  • @EbEvoVIII i have watched the warm video of this car, very nice evo i must say, but the idle is not smooth like a normal car's if your are understand what i mean? is that because this is a turbo car?

  • @BONG475 It is due to the weather. The car needs to be re-tuned since winter time was really close which causes a little fluctuation in my idle. In the summer time...like now...it just lopes. :)

  • @BONG475 That is what cams do, they make a lope at idle because they are more aggresive than the stock by quite a bit

  • @BONG475 Its called CAMS! hahaha

  • @BONG475 OVERLAP

  • I have a stock 8 turbo with a 10.5 hotside. I am looking for an evo 9 turbo so I can get it ported and get a bigger compressor housing. I will max it on E-85 and can not wait! I am trying to keep her as reliable as possible since I will be auto crossing and road racing.

  • @EbEvoVIII ah rite definitely upload some videos of that, would to see them

  • Yes I did tint them but did so in a different fashion than the rest. I taped off the little horizontal lines on the tail lights and used coats of VHT and clear to do them. I wet sanded both lights then polished them. Let me know if you need help!

  • Did you tint your taillights like that sow only the clear part was showing. ? because i thought about doing that to mine, and didnt know how its look.

  • Thanks again for the comments you guys and I will keep you updated! I'll check out yours evotuner04!

  • No you don't need to perform any modifications to the head. The reason why I say this is because everything is in the tune. I am at 26 psi but can only rev to 7600rpms. Any more and I will get valve float which will ruin the head. I am at a pretty conservative tune because I daily drive approx. 100 miles a day to school and back. I do not have any dyno number but hope to get them by the summer as I will be converting to E-85 after a built transmission and a new clutch.

  • @EbEvoVIII i got the same cams and rev a lil bit higher have my ecu set at 7850 fuel cut. damn i dunno why my key board is typing like ths

  • @trugemini6382 Do you have upgraded valve springs and retainers? If not then you might want to chill on the higher revs.

  • @EbEvoVIII nope stock valve train..recommended max rpm is 8k on stock valvetrain w/ 272...and right now my fuel cut is set at 8100..i have heard of my buddy george at atp he ran the stock valve train with the same cams..on the dyno the stock valvetrain on his car didnt float till a little after 8500rpm.at 32psi. .so the 8100 rpm i believe is still within reason. 8300 is pushing it and 8600 is guaranteed float. i am currently also running 10.98@126mph best so far. on 40k mile street tires.

  • @EbEvoVIII but as a conservative safety measure..8k rpm on stock spring and kelford 272 is widely regarded as max ..and 8100 is fine as i have maybe 30+ runs at 8100 fuel cut so far. though agreed that 8100 is pushing the limit ..but i can attest that 8100 is NOT going to float the valves at 30psi ..unless you have high miles or you have a seriously fatigued spring somwhere ..like i said my buddy has done some 8300 rpm passes on the dyno with no troubles.not untill 8500..

  • nice choice of cams :) sounds badass...come check out mine

  • You do your head and rod bolts being at 26 psi? Those kelfolds sound amazing!! I need to do my cams and I def going with kelfolds, heard nothing but great things about them. You got any numbers?

  • @haasguidod101 i am at 30 psi , stock head and rod bolts..,on gt3076r and e-85 , and also running kelford 272 .ran a 11.2@125mph. with 398 awhp.

  • I don't have an 02 housing but I am tuned at 26 psi. I am trying to get myself an 02 dump! :)

  • get an o2 housing man. with your mods and then a tune it should be another 30 whp easy

  • @jdmfreak92 actually ATP turbo did a test ,,the invdia and megan o2 housings flow less than stock you wuld have to go wih somhing nam brand at least o get any improvmnt over stock or just port the stok one, i thik it hsto d wih the loction tha the aftermarket ne putthee o2 sensor bung in the direct pth of exhaut flow . where as thestock o location is dw and angeled away from the flow

  • @trugemini6382 welll, his turbo would spool alot faster. gaurenteed

  • @jdmfreak92 ..actually the dualball bearing gt3076r spools nearly like stock..as i was woried too when i bought tis turbo but goin straight from stock to this i was quite suprisd that spool was only about 500rpm later then stock...dual ball bearing center cartridge of the garrett works wonders

  • @trugemini6382 so for a 550hp (gt3076r) turbo 400 rpm later spool is amazing when compared to the stock tdo5hr-16g which is a great turbo i its own right able to maxout at neary 400awhp for a stok turbo

  • @trugemini6382 is that what this guy has?

  • @jdmfreak92 no thats what i have
