  • What happened I didn't see anything??

  • @thegorrilaboys to the right of the screen in the middle third

  • Dave, Nice work! How did you take the footage?

  • I would work for NASA ... But I'm a poor man ... And I have no money for a good telescope and other things in astronomy. Space makes me happy. :(

  • its called outer orbit spacejunk you tools...

  • it´s gonna hit us !!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

  • ...is this the same asteroid???

    watch?v=tro9iI5GfjQ

  • Yes I believe it is, but not nearly a world ender.

  • que asombroso

  • this is ufo lolllllll

  • Nice Video

  • cool dud?

  • wait that little star looking thing is supposed to be an asteroid

  • very interesting.......

  • 2 words - Bruce Willis

  • lol.... this is no asteroid... this is a satelitt.

  • NEAR can detect the global killers but never the smaller ones until the last second!

  • Fine video!

  • arcseconds?

  • 500" = 500 arcseconds, not 500 inches

  • hey,,,,,,,hello

  • Good work. Regards from Obs. Begues.

  • wow, i'm speecless, what a video O_o

    I mean wow....

  • This is just a regular satelite put up by us.

An asteroid or a meteor move much faster. Spend a bit of time watching watching the sky any clear night.

  • i often doubt myself and i wish the facts did not lead me to any negative conclusion. i often wish that NASA management and the politicians that handle the procurement of our capital as taxpayers, are honest, noble, and the best in man. However this is another example of how little time we may have as a species. It will be some obscure light in the sky that ends our ability to pay taxes and we should thank the incompetent politicians, NSA, NASA and the three branches of our government for it.

  • This has got to be like the 5th vide i've seen like this. pretty cool. haha I like yours the most. I can't wait to see more of your work

  • I'll get you next time, my pretties...HAHAHAHAHA. This was shot in Australia, only TWO days before it passed only one fifth of the distance from the earth to the moon. That's 50,000 miles, but if it had hit us, it would have flattened out an area of 800-1000 sq miles, likely over water statistically. Maybe it should have hit us, and woken our asses up. Anyway, i dont think they knew it was coming, and they only found it TWO days before, so forget stopping it.

  • "they only found it TWO days before, so forget stopping it" listen "they" "NASA" knew it was coming but posted a calendar of near earth collisions with their respective dates on the NASA website. apparently if they had only two days notice how can they do a video simulation of the asteroid describing when it will come around and pass us again in the future. NASA management and all the politicians need to be thrown in jail and eliminated from the gene pool.

  • Im having a hard time understanding how it is lit up. It is a giant rock. How is it glowing in space??

  • Same way the moon or a planet light up in the night sky... They don't produce light obviously, simply reflect the sun's light.

  • Yeah, what Nemo447 said. The sun shines on it so we can see it.

  • planet X is so gonna kill us

  • i don't get how planet x is supposed to kill us, how does a planet kill us? does it have lasers?

  • supposely its a big mother effin planet thing and it glows red, NOT REFLECTING LIGHT BUT EMMITING LIGHT.. And moving towards us, they say its gonna mess with planetary alignment and stuff but i dont know, its all talk for now...

  • yes it was very weird that no information about the asteroid was given out until after it went by. Hmmm......i wonder about our government

  • Its because scientists already knew that it wasn't going to hit earth. If they were to tell us beforehand, people might misunderstand the info and freak out.

  • the dd45 was as big as the one that hitted siberia in 1908 killing 80millions trees and all kind of life 1600miles around, about 100thousen hiroshima bombs.......

  • Not to sound crazy, but I am with ozgurevrenakay.......We got lucky this time.....an ancient calendar has already predicted our demise in 2012 due to a global catastrophe, yet I really see no one in government or any other place taking any of this seriously!

I wonder what it will take for people to understand that PlanetX has it out for us and we're all basically screwed in a little over 3 years.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Hi bbwgoi,

The Mayen is accurate wit their Astro plotter.

But NO one or thing can PREDICT anything.

So rest asured & enjoy ur life. :)

  • source pls?

  • Anyone notice that we were not told about this asteriod until the day after it passed us

  • 5 to 164 feet (20 to 50 meters) wide, so no need to worry. You could die in a car accident or something else before a rock comes smashing in! mainly the 2100's!

  • It was the same size that exploded over Russia in 1908 it destoryed over 800 square miles of forest

  • very nice

  • They will, eventually it turns up on Discovery History and sometimes Geographic, but one thing I've noticed is that it hasn't so far been a big Topic on Air, what are yours and other peoples thoughts about this?

  • I wish someone would do a discovery channel style mock up of the disaster it would have caused.

  • I see it. Appears on right mid-screen then ambles to the left. Ambles. Yeah, right.

Thanks and Regards from Venezuela!

  • ignorant speack english!

  • smart ass.....that was a reply in spanish for a guy that asked for one

  • Learn to spell in ENGLISH!

  • Man, that ain't nothing but a bunch of little dots.

  • @xxxKLLxxx thats because of there distance away idiot

  • Lots of satellites and especially the International Space Station routinely transit the night sky and look just like this video image, a white dot moving across a star field.

How do we know that this video is the 2009 DD45 Near Earth Asteroid?

  • If you were dropped on the ground ... that parents will be reached?

    That parents filmed this video?

  • ich seh nichts schrott

  • and is the bright star at the bottom earth? or the one that it mearly missed?

  • No, this is shot from earth, soo...

  • if you play the video faster, you will see a little dot moving across the screen.

  • oh jesus h. christ...

  • HAHAHAHAHAHHA shhh i just realised

  • wait so this could of killed us?

  • It would have been like the Tunguska blast.

  • it missed us! aww shucks! maybe next time!

Lol. let me know when it comes by again, I'll just use a kamehameha and blow it into oblivion!

  • next year I think it cycles around the sun then back in 1.5 years, just wait and see the sparks fly when you fire your kao x ten

  • LORD TAKE ME NOW!!!!

  • 99.99% of the world are doing their daily activities. 0.01% are thinking if this asteroid will be hitting the planet or not.

  • a huge Tsunamy for planet Earth hehe almost

  • the level of damage, if an asteroid were to hit depends on it's composition. one made of iron or other metals, would be more devastating than a rocky asteroid which would burn up in earth's atmosphere. my beef, is the governments of the world putting economic activity, ahead of the population. power is really a funny thing.

  • That was darn close! Especially interesting is the fact that it was only discovered 3 days in advance. Just think what would happen if it would be a sure hit and we'd have only 3 days..

  • Phew...

  • I don't think a 30m wide asteriode can wipe us out. But it will probably make a lot of destruction.

  • SUPERMAN!!!

  • What I find fascinating about these things is realizing how fragile our existence as a species really is. .. A big rock helped our mammal ancestors to evolve into what we are now, and another big rock could one day wipe us out of the map... and of course life will continue with or without us.... that´s just amazing...

  • holy crap....that happened a few days ago...does anyone know how big this asteroid was?

  • 30 m wide, enough to wipe out a small city... :)

  • A stupid question. Would it caused more damaged it if hit water (creating psunamis etc) or directly his a population. I think psunami could be really devasting in this case, it would have covered a huge area.

  • The earth's surface is 75 percent water. Odds are it would have hit some water form.

  • Good thing it completely missed us instead...

  • It's the following blackout that would kill the most, cold and starvation would be the main factor.

  • This asteroid was only the size of a 10 story building. This would not cause mass extinction.

  • Thats a ufo.

  • hey daniel this is not about some stupid nibiru or whatever this is about our tax dollars paying for a space agency that posts asteroid calamity dates on its website than has a media blackout about the topic the day it occurs. they were probably in their underground bunkers and your local cable company failed to give them cable hook up that day so they decided no media interviews. i do not understand how they feel entitled to hide while the rest of us sit and wait in front of impact.

  • when start defence?wake-up gouvernments in world !!!!!!!!

  • Any they say that "There are many labs that search the space for earth-threatining objects". They found this on 27th Feb, Asteroid passed on Monday?.. How many days? 5 maybe?

Now I am sure that Nibiru, the 12th planet of the solar system is on its way close to earth and they will not tell us about it, since they do not know it yet, or they know but they will not tell us.

I count on Sumerians rather than the earth people, or governments. I suggest you do too :)

  • @ozgurevrenakay a planet of the apparent size of Niburu would be hard not to notice in then sky, even to a amateur astronomer, it is all a zeta talk hoax

  • Cool, thanks for sharing this footage OccultDave.

  • lol

  • 2 questions

1:what will happen if it (did) hit?

2:if there was a 100% chance it would hit would they have to tell us?

  • 1. An asteroid of that size would flatten about 800 square miles of land area. An ocean hit would create tsunamis and vaporize several cubic miles of sea water, creating massive cloud cover.

    2. Sadly, they may not see it soon enough to tell us. Assuming there is lead time, they could not keep a lid on it: if it were discovered that an impact was known to be certain and no warning was given, there would be hell to pay.

  • 1: small tsunami cause target was Pacyfic.

2: this is easy panic of people. Watch on youtube sometnig about Nibiru. DD45 is small

  • always NASA came into picture even wen we had astroid threats 0.000001% chance.tht1 was probably biggest1.generally NASA announces this kinda threats before it passes closure..this time NASA remained silent .....

  • y is it seen frm south? clossest to south pole...Many beleiver in Nibiru also talks it will appear first to south pole regions....day by day no of beleivers in nibiru increases at supersonic speed..even if i beleive only scientifically this stuff made me to beleive in nibiru.....wen was last this kind of astroid been encountered?..none knows right?

  • 2009DD45...wat does it mean?DD=Dooms Day? and y only 45 ?i think 44 astroids has aleready passed in 2009 n this 1 is 45th..r we gonna c this phenomina often now?is ther any elliptical orbit planet exist ?is this come frm astriod belt? if this astroid traveled in orbit thn y elliptic y not other(circular)?

  • 2009DD45...wat does it mean?DD=Dooms Day? and y only 45 ?i think 44 astroids has aleready passed in 2009 n this 1 is 45th..r we gonna c this phenomina often now?is ther any elliptical orbit planet exist other thn pluto?is this astroid come frm astriod belt? if this astroid traveled in orbit thn y elliptic y not other(circular)?

  • My friend and I went walking Tuesday night (maybe around 7:30 to 8) here in Tongyeong City, South Korea and we noticed this very bright, bluish shooting star streaking past the horizon. We thought it's a little odd, so bright and big. So this must be it.

  • wait is this the asteroid that could

    kill us all?

my friend was talking bout it

    lol

and no im not talking bout Apophis or w/e it is called

  • No, a 35 meter asteroid like this one is definitely not big enough to kill us all. It's smaller than the asteroid that created Meteor Crater in Arizona. Big enough to wipe out a city, but it wouldn't have any long lasting global effects. Now Apophis...that one would have a much more considerable consequences, since it is about 350 meters. It still wouldn't wipe us out, but the effects would be much more devastating.

  • Very true, I think Apophis will cut the population in half if it strikes in 2036, however, had this one here hit, I think it would've destroyed more than just a city. They say it would've had the power equivalent to 1000 Hiroshima bombs. So, well, actually your right, an area about the size of New York city roughly would've been obliterated.

  • Nah, nowhere close to 1000 Hiroshima bombs. The one that created Meteor Crater in Arizona was estimated to be 50 meters, and its yield calculated at around 150 Hiroshima bombs (2.5 megatons). It dug a hole roughly equivalent to 6 city blocks in diameter. This one was 35 meters, so less yield, assuming a similar speed. Apophis would be around 880 megatons. I don't think it would half our population, but it would be a devastating event. Still, it's a 1 in 45,000 chance of impact, pretty long odds.

  • @TurkishPoltergeist69 were well prepared for Apophis, and in 20 years I'm confident we will have the technology of deflecting it

  • yea but i heard the chances of it now hitting us have decreased

they say it has to go through a key hole in 2011 for it to hit us

the hit is less than 1% i think

  • 1 in 45,000 is less than 1%. It is a 0.00230000% chance. :)

  • devastator from transformer just missed the earth ..what an asshole

  • the one that did meteor crater in Arizona was the size of a large house, - left a crater 3/4 of a mile wide and 600 feet deep. :0

this one would of levelled a large modern city easily.

  • neat!

  • really good work!

  • WOW... just noticed something...

    Asteriod 2009 "D-D" 45

    Asteriod 2009 DOOMS-DAY number 45.

Wow so how many "Doomsday" asteriods are known and they are not telling us?

  • You are so right, I just knew about this asteroid 5 minutes ago, acording to the news, it was about to crash on earth past monday, and they NEVER told anything on saturday or sunday, and guess what, they estimate the size in 40 meters, just like the one that wiped off Siberia in 1908, that was a tremendous gigantic explotion. And those bastards never told anything this time, so, if any meteor menace the earth, we will NEVER know untill it smashes our heads.

  • no its not ok, it shouldn't be this way since we pay taxes, our governments need to be held accountable for this nonsense. you need to ask yourself are there any other independent satellites and or telescopes that can authenticate the size, rotation, and orbit of the object. the fact remains NASA has a subcategory on its website and lists the so called dates when we will be able to "preview" the anomaly but no other media coverage is granted worldwide.

  • since NASA has no credibility and since no one wants to discuss this in the media, a level of suspicion forms. was it a satellite, a solar flare, a comet, space debris, why list the dates on NASA website, why allow some independent Australian sky watcher to post his observations on the internet. which points me to the conclusion that are so called concerned world leaders have some sort of agenda. if you do not want anybody to know classify it and remove all information from every site, simple.

  • This goes to show that you can't predict your death (unless you smoke or bungee jump...then you know it's ANY day now).

Go out and live your life as happy as possible. Because when our time comes, it will come with no warning (unless you're one of the people that are send into the bunkers that they have in Denver,Africa,China, And South America).. Go and be happy, don't count on your government, don't trust public officials.... Love,Live,Laugh, And show someone other than you that you care.

  • UFO

  • es el sonido de tu merte

  • It is the current policy of governments not to warn anyone about an asteroid impact because of the ensuing panic and chaos on escape routes

The ELE referendum was passed many years ago...the extinction level event accord was voted on by nations all over the world

Nobody was warned and you will never be warned because of the panic. Just hope you lucky enough to be far away from the impact zone

  • I don't know why people are thumbs-downing this comment. Matrix5060 is exactly right. He's not stating his opinion, and you don't have to like the truth. If our planet is going to be totally destroyed and nothing can be done about it, why cause a huge panic?

  • I agree with you 100% plus this asteroid was not going to destroy all of planet Earth anyway. It was most likely going to go into the ocean.

  • "plus this asteroid was not going to destroy all of planet Earth anyway. It was most likely going to go into the ocean"

That is a gamble I would HATE to have to make, because either way millions would die.

A rock that size would cause a massive tsunami.... should it hit land, would cause level a city or two and cause global problems.

There is no safe way for an asteroid to hit the earth, so evacuation is crucial... and our leaders left us to sit on the fence.

  • If the asteroid hit the middle of Antarctica it would be a pretty safe bet that it would not harm anyone. Let's say this asteroid was supposed to land 5 miles from your home and you knew all of the damage it would cause where would you go/what would you do?

  • When's the last time you heard of an asteroid hitting the Arctic or Antarctica?

Scientifically speaking, the further you get away from the equator the less likely of ground impact.

To answer your question of "What would you do?"

1: it's not what I can do to stop it, it's what our nations are capable of doing to stop it.

2: in the event that nothing can be done, knowing is better than blind ignorance and one day having a giant rock fall on your city just as you're getting your morning coffee..

  • What type of camera did you use to capture this? What were the settings?

  • Well, somehow one of those will reach the destination.

  • When the hell are one of these going to crash into the planet again

  • GOKU WILL SAVE US

  • 看不懂、

  • So beautiful....i love nature.

  • is it the lil white thing slowly (from our point of view) moving across the sky

  • Yes

  • I hope the big one falls on Virginia so it takes out the asshole agencies that makes sure The YouTube Searches exclude videos about Asteroids are a bigger threat than Iran and Korea. Yes, the Patriot Act is hard at work covering up YouTube videos that make people think. F-O ButtLipps!

  • If global warming dont kill us, something like this will im 100% sure. its just a matter of when.

  • Luckily our lives are only a blink of an eye in cosmic time, so no need to lose any sleep over this.

  • would earthquakes and stuff happen if it hit the ocean? or would it just sink(lol)

  • If the asteroid was to land in the ocean, a Tsunami would break out causing un-countable deaths to all of the land surrounding that part of the ocean.

  • Grab your surfboards! Surfs up!

  • wat counties?

    or all?

  • IT WOULD CREAT GIANT TSUNAMI

  • nature owns us

  • where was the meteor?

  • 600,000 miles above the Pacific ocean or seven times closer to Earth then the moon.

  • Correction, 72,000 kilometers. The moon varies between 360,000 k and 400,000 k. Whups, dropped a decimal! :D

  • So what's a few hundred thousand kilometers in this vast universe? ;-)

  • Well you know a million light years here, a million there, and there and soon you're talking REAL numbers!

  • I hope a meteor would hit near where i live :(

that would be super awesome dope sauce

  • oh but on their website they mention another similar event but this event was only 4,000 miles from hitting the earth. i mean lets just type in the word "tool" on our foreheads when we are born since NASA can mention facts like this on their website and nobody seems to care. not one freakin leader from any country bitched about this except some Australian skywatcher. i guess the so called world leaders were in their respective bunkers that were paid for with our tax dollars

  • and the circus prop NASA has a description of the Neo DD45 but fails to mention it passed by the earth and we stood there and watched and hoped it didn't hit us. i swear if i had control of NASA, DARPA, NSA, and DOD everybody would be stripped down and cained in a park for being complete utter tools and morons to the millionth exponent. So they lack the technology to even thwart this space threat but everything will be fine the next time unfreakin believable

  • They calculated it would miss earth, no action was necessary, so what are you on about?

zrod001, do you even know how often asteroids come that close to earth? Should we be spending billions blowing them all up or something? What has politicians 'bitching' got to do with it? The US have NASA, who took what action was necessary, it is FUNDED BY THE GOVERNMENT, unless you wanted some government official to personally destroy it I don't think there is much point to what you're saying.

  • jay, if "they" caculated it would hit Los Angeles, do you think "they" would actually tell the public? Hell NO! Theres too much money at stake if Market crashed first! Trust that the Government is Not Trust worthy. They couldn't give a shit about some disposable people. After all, theres only so much room in the caves.

  • that is amazing. I wished the news would have said something like you can go outside and look here and here to see it. but no. we find out after the fact. but THANK YOU very much for posting this. I sure would have liked to be in the know ahead of time just so I could have tried to see it befour I go blind. not one mention on the news channel I watch. NJN News.

  • Same sentiments here kurgen, I was just lucky enough to go for a walk and saw this beautiful bluish streak in the sky. It's my first time to see an asteroid that close, maybe in my lifetime. Wish I could have captured it, but it was gone within seconds.

  • thanks your description was even better than this video..one love Mon.

  • so i guess someone went up there and measured the asteroid and found no helium 3, similar to deposits on moon, and core drilled to verify it has no molten core. thats the problem we do not know what material is encrusted in the asteroid and i bet the so called instruments we have lack the ability to determine its actual size unless of course you interpret "its a big shiny thingy" as a sign that everything will be ok. it doesn't matter what size it is the fact remains there was no media coverage

  • the moon is a piece of the earth from something running into earth.

If we do get hit, it will just kill us all - Earth will still survive like it always does.

  • where is the earth compared to the moving asteroid?????? Is earth suppose to be the big white mark at the bottom under the five???? Can someone tell me?

  • umm .....where do you suppose the video was taken from ?

  • the video was taken from earth

  • I thought maybe a satalite or something from a distance away from earth, looking back at earth.

  • From an astronomy club post I read, this asteroid was further out than our satellites, but much closer than the moon.

  • It would not have been very extreme, it was only 200 feet across and would have struck in the ocean. The affects would be similar to that of underwater nuclear arms testing. All these people saying 100 or 1,000 or more nuclear weapons don't know what they are talking about. They just read the headlines on a google search.
