It's unfortunate that other ethnicities have been wiped out from the face of this earth but Hmong are so resilient and smart. The chinese wanted Hmong to be illiterate so that the history of our people will be lost forever and along with it vengeance. Besides embedding the alphabet into different styles of clothing, our ancestors have uniquely encoded unforgettable segments of our history into our instruments word4word; especially the qeej. This is the beauty of a culture meant to survive.
Muab mloog ces Peb Tsob Hmoob cov ntaub ntawv nws yog Ntawv Paj Ntaub lawm puas yog Peb cov khaws tau cov tsiaj ntawv no. Hmoob kuj yuav tau tim rov los kawm cov ntawv paj ntaub no kom Hmoob siv tau rau Hmoob. Ua cas cov ntawv phaj hauj los kuj hais tias yog peb Hmoob ntawv thiab no ua li yog cov twg tiag. Vim kuv saib mam cov ntawv phaj hauj zoo li ntaw samalias lawm hos cov ntawv paj ntaub no thiaj yuav yog cov tseeb rau Hmoob vim cov nov Hmoob thiaj muaj nyob rau tej paj ntau coj los hnav
I never understood how our ruling class and smart people had completely disapeared some 2k years ago, until I saw the khmer genocide war, only took decade to wipe out their educated people,I kind of get their real idea of how it once happened to us.
Despots who want to demoralize and destroy a conquered people's will to fight will harass them and become their nightmares, destroy their written language and history, and by all means prevent them from organizing and rising up again. This is what the Han Chinese did. They have become the "Suav" in our "npau suav phem", or otherwise the root of our nightmares.
this ancient song is basically about how the Hmong scripts were destroyed by the ancient Huaxia people. It's also about how the Huaxia were successful at mastering, adopting and absorbing Hmong scripts and other Hmong customs. Destroy the Hmong scripts, then destroy the Hmong identity and culture... basically, this what the song is about. Due to Huaxia oppression and expansion, the ancient scripts were embedded onto Hmong clothes by the women and continue to be passed down for many centuries
my mom has always told me about the story of our written language being hidden away from the Han Chinese in the designs of the Hmoob clothing, especially the dress.
if it is true, then will we ever be able to rediscover/recover our lost written language?
Thanks for Hmong Folk Song. This song saying that hmoob ntaub hmoob ntawv muab xaws, los muab xwm rau peb hmoob li paaj ntaub quav laug lawm. Vim yog Suav liab Suav dloog tau txeeb hmoob lis liaj ias teb chaws. Muab hmoob txuj hmoob nci lawv pov tseeg.
This is very interesting, I will learn from my father. He knows these hmoob ntawv paaj ntawb too.
