MR's guitar playing has always been about melody and the song, not dig-me chops. DS is from a jazz rock background, totally different style. Check him out on 'Enigmatic Ocean' by Jean Luc Ponty, My fave MR guitar playing is on 'And Then There Three, the first album after Hackett left. Its got some great songs on it.
Its like Lacrosse. Eddie Van Halen plays the attack position, Mike Rutherford is a mid fielder. 2 very important players yet different in how the game is played. MR is not an attack in your face player...
i agree with hlhenderson, its too fast, why did they up the tempo. sry to criticize, i f*in love genesis and phil collins though! i love slammin this sh*t in my car with my 3k watt system
Why? Because they were playing to 300,000 people over 4 days at Wembley and wanted to keep the crowd on their toes every single show with ABACAB. They didn't play it this fast at the beginning of the IT Tour and they certainly didn't played it this fast on their ABACAB, ENCORE, & MAMA tours.

Him or Daryl or improvises on everything he plays!
Great tempo ! Perfect ! The whole concert is like a dream: the music, the Wembley Stadium in the fading summer day. Around 4:04, 4:05 someone in the crowd looks like Ian Mosley of Marillion... or it's just my bad eyes... ;-)
