all the comments below r funny lol. im a sax player and have been for neirly 7 years. this is hard stuff and to a real musicly inclined person, this sounds amazing. i play alto tenor and bari sax and i love this group. so yeah some of u these comments are rediculous lol. DEEP SCHROTT ROX MY SOX <3
There's a reason they're the ONLY one of their kind......blehhhh! This is not right! Play pieces designed for this kind of sound, do not desecrate beautiful intricate melodies....please?????
@tehmonkey100 You see, I live in America and we have free speech ! You have the right to fill your ears and brain with this and I have the right to say EWWW! It might work as part of a soundtrack but really, in what other setting ?
@CattailsandRoses I'm not saying anything about what you can and cannot say; I am by no means questioning your right to freedom of speech. Doesn't stop me from being able to say your opinion is subjective and you shouldn't pretend to have a complete, definite idea of what are 'beautiful intricate melodies' and what are 'blehhhh!'. I frankly find this new take on Stairway to Heaven to be wonderful.
@tehmonkey100 All opinions are subjective...go ahead and listen to this all day long if you like. And don't snipe at people who have an opinion different from yours, OK?
@CattailsandRoses You say I'm the one here sniping at others' opinions? Where did I do that? And no shit all opinions are subjective. You, however, said something objective: 'This is not right!'. That sounds like you think you know exactly how music needs to sound, as if there is a standard you know to which this melody is not in accordance.
@tehmonkey100 Dear tehmonkey, Please..go blow it out your bass sax ! STFU-this is not important to anyone but you---I don't like this and never will--it sounds like a fifth-grader learning his first rudimentary songs--only a parent loves it and even then, only for a few minutes a day... That's my OPINION.. now hush up.
Amazing sound, and, I'm just wondering what's the difficulty difference from playing a tenor sax to a bass sax? I play tenor and bari and I'm thinking of trying out bass, and what would be a good brand if i do?
@bassman8194 We do NOT recommend Selmer or Yamaha. We recommend to look for an older instrument for a reasonable price, e. g. a Buescher or a Conn. They are a bit harder to play, but sound better, especially the very low notes. And that's what counts.
3 people out of 14000 people that have watched this dislike it, that goes to show that this is a good video... and to the people who dislike, not to be rude but they should try to play this song on bass sax
@Asatru19 which one is deaf? i could see it being the one playing the actual 'bass' part because it's so low it would vibrate your whole body by practicing
Sound really good but there is a problem, since they are all tuned the same, there is no variety of tune qualities so in some parts it sounds weird. Other than that I really liked it!
@NicChambers93 Well, you only have to worry about puffing cheeks when you first start anyway, just because it can alter the sound, however, when you get good with it if you find puffing your cheeks slightly helps your sound then by all means go for it, I do see a lot of professional saxophonists puff to some extent.
@NicChambers93 playing lower instruments is alot harder than playing higher instruments in alot of ways. My cheeks would be sore after playing bari for a full day. I try to not puff because that's just how I was taught.
@NicChambers93 technically its correct to not puss you cheeks, its to do with embouchure strength. but people complaining are just anal-retentive classical musicians that dont comprehend anything existing outside of their style
@NicChambers93 I think people here will find that they know not what they are talking about.
It's often useful for instruments with big wind supply. For this kind of thing it's necessary for circular breathing. It's impossible to circular breathing without.
nice job really, you guys are great. You should try doing something a tiny bit jazzier, especialy with that kind of low base saxaphone, it would sound really great.
Have a better look: it's not really the cheeks they're puffing. Apart from that, it's a good and necessary advice for beginners to not puff the cheeks. Later, it's also a question of sound and technique.

In fact, this is a former "Schrottplatz", junkyard, now a place for artists and performers. And yes, some railway traffic and bridges nearby.
