  • There are some old o&k lifts on the Tyne and Wear Metro

  • Theres a Old (H&c?) lift at Newton Abbot station, in Devon, Remember though, its not

on the acual platforms, its inside the ticket office, but sadly now, theyve riped the car out, and now using it as a store room, (but the gate and external buttons are still there!)

  • Were the J&E halls hydraulics

  • @idriszakir waitrose in caversham HOLY S#!T I LIVE IN READING I CAN VISIT THEM OMG OMG!

  • some old lifts at pokesdown for boscombe, in Bournemouth, dorset...

  • @159james Do you know if they still work

  • @benobve ill try them for you over the half term

  • @benobve ill go down to pokesdown today mate!

  • This is how the UK spends your tax dollars if you travel the UK. They should have restored them and allow them to run!

  • There are some like this at the abandoned Hellingly Hospital in East Sussex.

  • Very brilliant! Looks a brand new elevator is improvide working is done!!! Execellent video folks.

  • Nice one of new elevator than old freight elevator like around 1980's. Now we'll replace old one out then will be made new elevator improvement works! But maybe there have vision on CCTV on it. Nice new elevator services.

  • @EMMAWONDERLAND1 The old lifts are from the 1930s.

THE OLD LIFTS ARE FAR BETTER THAN THE NEW LIFTS

  • @benobve You're in Though!

  • @benobve I see I was guss that from 1980's. But you said 1930's, it was realise that done history of old elevator is freighter elevator. But now normal elevator better than old ones. Actually, I'm not used tthese lift oo much anyway!!!

  • @benobve Yeah, Great video to find!

  • Its kind of funny, but even Singapore has them. The old Evans lift in train stations are hardly being used anymore, since the new Toshibas are actively used for disabled access.

  • This also happens to railway stations in Germany. There are loads of old lifts, which are now abandoned. The lifts were used for baggage transport, but DB doesn't offer it any longer. Examples: Cologne-trade fair/Deutz, Löhne (Westf.). But there are old lifts, which are still in use to load the long-distance trains' bistro cars with food. Examples: Cologne central station, Dortmund central station. But these lifts are locked off.

  • @PostTower I was visinting Berlin from te UK recently, And stubled upon a OLD FLOHR lift, but even though it was abondoned and lcked off, the car lights were amazingly still on

  • There were lifts like this at Banbury and Didcot stations, but they are long gone, replaced with the usual Stannahs. I'm guessing the disappearance of parcles traffic removed the need for most of these old goods lifts to be kept in working order.

The buttons for the lift at Swanley look a lot more modern than you would expect for an abandoned lift.

  • I don't know the situation at letchworth the lifts were abandoned but I don't know if things have moved since a couple of years ago.

  • One of these lifts were at balham but they replace it ;/

  • Very interesting.

0:40 i wonder how many coats of paint these buttons have had since they were last pressed properly!

Another 'wonder' - Wonder why they feel the need to remove the lift car when a lift becomes derelict.

    Cool video.

  • Nice video
