One thing I noticed when I first unlocked the Altair costume is that Snake had his left ring finger bent back into his palm. I was like "what the fuck," so I took a look at a picture of the real Altair, and saw that his finger was GONE! Probably to make using his hidden blade easier.

the reason altair has no ring finger is that the rituals of the assassin's in assassin's creed make it so they have to cut it off. it happens when an apprentice becomes a master assassin.
