It's probably an auto with the 2.73 gears, 3.15 is noticeable faster (I have the 3.15 with only the stock filter box open and was dead even against an IS-F), 3.15 is even faster on top end because at top speed, the rpm's are closer to the engines peak hp, 2.73 ratio is definitely too long for the 4 speed autobox

The new 335i/135i have a very nice set up. The twin turbo I6 can be opened up VERY nicely by dinan.
By the car new, get the $2000 dinan chip, KEEP your factory warranty (dinan will honor your warranty if BMW will not) and the 300hp/300ft/lbs becomes 420hp / 390ft/lbs.
Does this vette have the std 2.73 gears or the optional 3.15 gears? ~Std with the Z51 pkg. There is a pretty noticable difference between the two gear ratio's. Either way, that 335i really hauls ass. Thanks for the vid.

I'm a GM guy, as well as a BMW guy. I respect both for what they are. The bottom line is, youre trying to compare a 4 door luxury/sport sedan to a 2 seat sports car. Its apples and oranges. Sure, the vette is faster, but you cant put 5 people in it while lugging around 3 dead hookers in the trunk. Also, the BMW has far more technology, and while GM is great for many things, the BMW has fit and finish (build quality) that GM will never match, hence the sticker price.

There is so much technology in an m5 (dont make me list it), which is why a 4000lb behemoth of a sport sedan/luxury car is comparable to a 3200lb, 2 seat sports car with a 40% larger engine.
I love vettes and hope to own one in 3 years or so, but you have to understand that there is so much more to a BMW than it's 1/4 mile time.
The M5 is an awesome car. The Z06 is a super car. The Z06 (not to mention the latest supercharged one that can do 210+) is an unbelievable car. These two cars are not comparable. The M5 would beat any C06 of course, but the Z06 can pull over 1 lat g's while riding on leaf springs. It blows my mind.

numbers say differently bro.ur M5 weiighs 4012lbs and has 500hp@7750 and 383tq@6100 that is high rpm all the time for track running it is wide,a 113.7" wheelbase(Z06 is 105.7) but the M5 is 57.8"high compaired to the 49" height of the Z06 not to mention the Z06 is almost 1000lbs lighter@3132lbs and it has a whopping 505hp@6300rpm and 470tq at only 4700 so it powers up sooner.U still think the tall and heavy car with less Hp and way less TQ beats the Z06 in a road race? The vette was built 4 it.
ok, i have no idea where your getting your times from, the M3 GT is not a production car, im assuming the gt2 you mention is a porsche 997 gt2 with a time of 7:31. so you fail with the wrong times and compairing a non production race version vs a vette. so like i said you have no clue, the ZR-1 has the fastest time of any production car and it ranks 5th overall. Dodge did post a 7:22 with a viper ARC but that car had tires, areo kit, and some suspention mods

There are 2 versions of the M3 GTR, one is the race version and the other is the street version. The street version is based on the early E46 body design which a smaller engine than the race version.
The track times are from the Official N'ring Records. You can get them online or from a library.
ZR1 is modified based off the original Corvette. It still is not faster than the GT2

Hes not 18 years old. However, I will say that I respect the vette very much. Especially the C6. Chevy did a great job with this one. The older ones were garbage. I use the Vette for my personal benchmark in terms of performance. However, a vette will never be as comfy or luxurious as a BMW.

Ive had a 2005 C6 Z51 corvette 6spd, and now currently have a 2007 335i sedan steptronic. The corvette would beat the 335i in every performance category stock vs stock but I still prefer my 4 door sedan.
335i is not the sport version of the 3 series though. The corvette was built as a sports car from the ground up. If you want to compare, compare it to the BMW M3. M3 would own any vette.
C5s have aged so horribly. I really like C6s, but I'd have a hard time buying one, considering how poorly a Corvette ages once the next generation comes out.

Does this vette have the std 2.73 gears or the optional 3.15 gears? ~Std with the Z51 pkg. There is a pretty noticable difference between the two gear ratio's. Either way, that 335i really hauls ass. Thanks for the vid.

I'm a GM guy, as well as a BMW guy. I respect both for what they are. The bottom line is, youre trying to compare a 4 door luxury/sport sedan to a 2 seat sports car. Its apples and oranges. Sure, the vette is faster, but you cant put 5 people in it while lugging around 3 dead hookers in the trunk. Also, the BMW has far more technology, and while GM is great for many things, the BMW has fit and finish (build quality) that GM will never match, hence the sticker price.

There is so much technology in an m5 (dont make me list it), which is why a 4000lb behemoth of a sport sedan/luxury car is comparable to a 3200lb, 2 seat sports car with a 40% larger engine.
I love vettes and hope to own one in 3 years or so, but you have to understand that there is so much more to a BMW than it's 1/4 mile time.

The M5 is an awesome car. The Z06 is a super car. The Z06 (not to mention the latest supercharged one that can do 210+) is an unbelievable car. These two cars are not comparable. The M5 would beat any C06 of course, but the Z06 can pull over 1 lat g's while riding on leaf springs. It blows my mind.

zo6 is a super car ( well it is as fast as the others, maybe more ) ... bmw ... nah, they are regular street cars, expensive, big, heavy, but fun a a bit fast. Now when I C a 335 can keep up with a 95 vette, I'll say wow, it gota be a nice and fast car. Not that vette sux, but BMW moved up nicely.
500 HP new z06 has to be fast. And they weight just about my shit.

numbers say differently bro.ur M5 weiighs 4012lbs and has 500hp@7750 and 383tq@6100 that is high rpm all the time for track running it is wide,a 113.7" wheelbase(Z06 is 105.7) but the M5 is 57.8"high compaired to the 49" height of the Z06 not to mention the Z06 is almost 1000lbs lighter@3132lbs and it has a whopping 505hp@6300rpm and 470tq at only 4700 so it powers up sooner.U still think the tall and heavy car with less Hp and way less TQ beats the Z06 in a road race? The vette was built 4 it.

ok, i have no idea where your getting your times from, the M3 GT is not a production car, im assuming the gt2 you mention is a porsche 997 gt2 with a time of 7:31. so you fail with the wrong times and compairing a non production race version vs a vette. so like i said you have no clue, the ZR-1 has the fastest time of any production car and it ranks 5th overall. Dodge did post a 7:22 with a viper ARC but that car had tires, areo kit, and some suspention mods

You need to learn how to read and download track times before posting. You are just making yourself look bad.
There are 2 versions of the M3 GTR, one is the race version and the other is the street version. The street version is based on the early E46 body design which a smaller engine than the race version.
The track times are from the Official N'ring Records. You can get them online or from a library.
ZR1 is modified based off the original Corvette. It still is not faster than the GT2

Hes not 18 years old. However, I will say that I respect the vette very much. Especially the C6. Chevy did a great job with this one. The older ones were garbage. I use the Vette for my personal benchmark in terms of performance. However, a vette will never be as comfy or luxurious as a BMW.

Ive had a 2005 C6 Z51 corvette 6spd, and now currently have a 2007 335i sedan steptronic. The corvette would beat the 335i in every performance category stock vs stock but I still prefer my 4 door sedan.

335i is not the sport version of the 3 series though. The corvette was built as a sports car from the ground up. If you want to compare, compare it to the BMW M3. M3 would own any vette.

Now you post the specs on the SL65, I honestly don't know them and I wanna see how these cars stack-up against each other. Plus the Vette has improved Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors and improved suspension. Yeah I agree American cars suck but the Corvette is one of the few that can actually handle curves.
