I just was Deep Purple concert and Ian Gillan didn't sing high as usual but still he was good.When the voice is instrument and the tours are long it's normal that sometimes you can't sing perfect in every gig.Anette is doing a great job and if you don't like her then you better find something else to listen!

Get real! She has sounded rough and off key since day one at their first gig! Are you telling me she was worn out then? I have been waiting for things to improve but well over a year and a half has gone by and she is getting worse! 'Singing' wise, image wise and stage presence wise. She is ruining all the songs with her POP voice and POP phrasing intonation. She knows NOTHING about Metal and never even heard of Nightwish until a few days before she sent in her audition tape. That says it all!!!

i think it is kind of ok she did not know who they were, that way she could come in and it would be new and not this thing she already had expectation for, so on that note i like that. With some songs i agree she has not improved, but at the same time, that is annette, this is how she sounds and we either need to accept that or stop complaining,this is NW now and frankly even though it is hard hard on the ears sometimes, I love it, i love her and love the way they are band again!

She has a sore throat because the Nightwish songs are way out of her range and she cannot cope with them. She is a POP speach level singer NOT suitable for a Metal band in any way shape of form. She sounds like this in ALL their live performances. I feel so sorry for her struggling like this every night; she is way OUT of her DEPTH. She should get back to her ABBA tribute band before she completely ruins her vocal chords!

NW is using her too much. Way too many gigs. She must be tired and is starting to show her age. She sports a particularly unflattering hairstyle and colour... This is not kind but I hope all those gigs ruin her voice totally so that NW can start to think about their next singer(hopefully a better choice).Annette might be a nice person but her voice is unworthy of NW music.

I agree, it's a shame coz she is obviously trying her best but she just cannot do it! Next time Nightwish, for all our sakes, get someone who already follows, listens to and understands Metal.... Not a POP singer with a weak voice who looks like your mother! Her image wouldn't bug me if she could sing the Nightwish songs and do them justice but she is KILLING their songs in her bad amateur performances. She changed the song melodies to suit her lack of ability and has ruined them all!

Agree++.I am aware that she is trying very hard but it is just not working.I would forgive her her lack of style and class if she was doing justice to the songs but her Live performances are really showing her limitations(her version of Wishmaster is particularly hideous...)I wonder how Tuomas and Co can bear it gig after

gig...Unfortunetly, she might be here for the long run. I would stop listening to NW altogether if it was not for their superb music.

The trouble is that NW music is too good to be forgotten altogether.And I was not replying to you but to someone who is obviously on the same wave-length as me.Anyone who has a decent ear for music should agree than Annette can manage an allright performance on record but is disappointing/amateurish Live.I will continue to express my dismay whether you like it or not.NW went backwards with Annette.Many fans agree. Why is Tuomas's MUM singing to him? Blimey, she looks so OLD and FRUMPY!!! Is this what they have decended to? Surely they could get a better vocalist, all she does is shout and scream and ruin the songs. The songs are way to big for her, she can't handle it - they are way out of her range. I met with the band after the show. Jukka had told me that Anette had a sore throat that night, which is normal at the beginning of a new tour leg, so please understand this. You shouldn't judge on this one performance. She was incredibly energetic throughout the whole night!

I don't care how she looks, she sings like an angel, full of emotion and crystal-clear. I also think she put on some weight but not too much. In other clothes from the same period, she looks fine and slim to me.

The sound is really bad, but Anette really put on some weight and gone blond again? :S She looks more older now. She looks better with dark and long hair to me.
