Very interesting debate format! As a very liberal American, even I think it's innaccurate to equate Sarkozy with Bush. He sounds more like the middle in the US ( Clinton dem or moderate republican). Royal sounds far left in US terms and her command and control approach to managing the govt would make France the "Sick man" of Europe. By voting for Sarkozy, the French people showed that they are disciplined enough to make hard reforms in their government.
