I have the Spanish version of Rosetta Stone, and I can't say how great this program is!! However, I can't imagine how even with this program just how hard learning Chinese would be!! Chinese, and other far Eastern languages, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese ect. are super hard because they have entirely different writing!!

It's a pretty good tool for vocabulary building, from what I've seen of it.

If you really want to learn how to speak a language, the only way is to study consistently and practice with people who are fluent already.

There was an article in the NY Times this summer about how hard his childhood was in terms of school and dealing with stupid people.
