She is on a belay so even if she just let go, there is no danger. For people just starting, you need to get them out of the habit of the hand on the rope past the belay device, they just death grip it like she is. Otherwise, she did OK. That like they are belaying her on is either really new and stiff or a rap line.

I have done this rapel before, and it is about 80 feet total, but 50 feet of it is an overhang and it is pretty scary when you do it for your first time. This girl looks scared.

It might have been a good idea to have someone experienced next to her on a second rope... so she isn't doing that "all alone" (mental support)

This is a cool area to rapell. There era some really cool spots in northern Az. Payson has some spots off the Mogian rim that are absolutely breath taking.
