@shukka667, These are called fissures. It is caused by the over use or the over pumping of ground water aquafers. Here in Arizona it happens but here they moniter the wells to keep this from happening. They also build recharge stations where they actually put the water back in the ground to keep the ground water at optimal levels to again keep the ground from caving in. Look up fissures Arizona, you will see...Hope this helps.

Listen I find your video interesting and some you have valid points. This is a strange video in deed but it was a land slide. Which the the down spout had nothing to do with. It only goes a few inches into the ground and it only drains water when it rains. If its raining the few gallons it catches and.dumps.in the ground is nothing compared to the thousands of gallons pouring from the sky. How ever I mean harm is the message. I'm a soil and water resources engineer, so I have some experience with the science and seeing these situations in real life. I live in Texas, but have worked in Bellevue before so have experience in WA. This is a slope failure, most likely caused by a tension crack failure or rotational failure. The soil was probably weakened by the water which caused positive pore pressure. The weight of the water was pushing against the soil, but nothing to support it on the bank along the stream or pond.

Myself being a retired Underground Utility Technician/Heavy Equipment Operator feel comfortable enough in giving my professional opinion. There are 3 houses close together right at the edge of that drop off and they all have french drains and an underground gravel pit in the back. During a very wet phase water built up similar to an underground flood situation and that resulted in the huge sink hole...

being in the construction field i would say that this is bad engineering first and foremost.i dont know the practices used in that area but in Indiana we have a ground compaction ratio to follow as a guide for concrete footers, slabs, foundations, etc. also, i would say that it is possibly due to water runoff and a sandy soil. Glad to see your back on YT bro!

I'm pretty sure it's a geological slump. Just google.....geological slumps. I don't think the water going into the ground is helping, but it's a naturally occurring process.  Do the other houses have the water spouts going into the ground too? You can see the trees have been slowly being pulled down the slump at their bases. The owners should have had the property surveyed by a geological engineer prior to purchase since the house (s) are built on a wet hillside. IMO

@dutchsinse - better hurry, that entire ledge could give way at any second sending many home crashing down into the ravine.They do have 3 small road closed signs about 1 block away but people have just moved them to the sides, I would suggest parking there and then walking the block to not add extra weight and in case something were to happen... I am going back later today and make a longer video showing more of the area...

Got to the point where I was getting sick of being sick and got so mad, I started 'exorcising' it off of me lol! Curious thing is I started feeling better. I got a lot of work to do so I've been trying to catch up. Haven't looked at sun images until yesterday. I did notice, however, that in just a few days (4/29 - 5/5) there appear to be a LOT of images - 200 a day?
