Nice radio, I have just bought one of these on Monday 28-Feb-2011 and hoping to have a lot of fun with it, in the coming months, after putting in all the 2m and 70cm frequencies, I took it to Barr Beacon to try it out, I am very impressed with its performance and the battery lasts for ages before it needs a recharge, I hope to work you sometime Simon handheld to handheld, 73 ..._._ ..
@markadoglet Hi Mark, I am sure by know you have made lots of QSO with your new hand held. I have been using mine for at least 5 years with the same battery, cracking little rig 10 out of 10. I got a dualband diamond antenna which out performs its original rubber duck. Check out some of my satellite videos where i am outside working DX on the same handheld.
your poor puppy is saying " sign with this dude already . go QRT man , pull the big switch, whatever , just take me for a walk already .I'm a dog." LOL hi hi
If you have passed the Exam, a licence is free for life these days on line at Ofcom. However if you have not they take great pleasure in fines of much more than 15 quid.
Tnx again Mick, Most of my original vids are on my youtube channel page. The odd vid got me into some strife regarding the music being copy righted ,so I wiped the offending ones. ;-( Some folks just love flagging them up, but it takes a lot more than that to piss a Yorkshire Man off LoL
lol cq on 2 meter we just say are call sign where i am thats the right way you do know you are not surpus to say cq on 2 meters mainly on a hand held but great job with the contect i can talk pretty far on my hand held rig o you mainly here the wind during the video next time do it when its not that much wind
So whats wrong with extending the courtesy by having manners and saying CQ 2m ?
Well I can tell you that here in the U.K we have rules and regs that suggest we call CQ which actually originates from Radio Scouting and incredibly enough does actually mean "SEEK YOU" as in looking to speak to someone out there. Maybe some one might answer next time you try?
Yeh There Pretty Cool, You can get a licence a bit easier these days if you are up for it. You can also get some great receivers fairly resonable that work well without the need of a licence. tnx
Thanks, You would'nt believe how much the Dog eats! He has 2 tins + mixer + biscuits + what ever is left from us. I wish I could eat so much and stay slim LoL. No matter what he is a skinny one its the breed.

You will have a long wait h.i as you saw not many takers on 2m. 70cms is even worse h.i.
There is more chance of a QSO with the dog 73!!!
