  • thats my lovelife... dumb b!ch

  • Wish the song was a little longer. Well doesn't matter. The 1:30 song is filled with greatness. Is this concert available on DVD? Lucky to have seen Del in 1986. There is a lot of lesser known Del Shannon, I've been told. I will search 4 it. R&R Hall of Famer 4ever.

  • This song was 50 years ago no.8 in the world charts #del #shannon

  • mental health issues are very tough...too bad he was some talent

  • gr8!!

  • pure mint!!!

  • just great

  • i just can not understand why such a good looking popular guy would kill himself

  • @418cjpaul Apparently because he was depressed at living in the past, always being asked to sing his greatest hit Runaway....he couldn't move on in his career......make your own mind up if this is true or not!

  • @eaglesrule39 hi.. it must have been so tough for the great entertainers of that time, to have to play only the the songs of that time, and not to be able to venture out in to the next time period. put he is one of the all time greatest. I miss this type of music. he is miss deeply.

  • HATS OFF TO DEL SHANNON...

He was blessed with so much talent.

    Miss him alot :-(

  • one of my best singers, us to hear on the radio back 1965 to 1970, i'm 57 years old and thanks to you people for the videos you share. saludos de monterrey, mexico

  • He was really great in this performance and seemed to be on top of his game. He still had a very strong voice. I just wish his life had a different ending. I loved this song!

  • This is his best song.....

  • What else can be said but thanks for preserving some "god like" performances.

  • Outstanding performer who never lost the voice as the years rolled by, sadly missed legend!

  • i got this on an old 33 1\3, one of my favourites

  • I like this song more than Runaway !

  • Me too. I became a true Del Shannon fan the first time I heard this song.

  • I've searched everywhere for a live version of this song. I missed seeing Del by a few months. I had tickets for his show in Geelong and hsi untimely tragic death took that chance away from me. I will always remember his beautiful music.

  • Del was great, when he recorded "Runaway" it sold 80,000 copies a day for a long time, Runaway was his big hit.

  • Sad about this wonderful performer. He cartainly had lots of talent and hit songs. R.I.P.

  • The best there ever was. love you Del.

    Del R.I.P. Brother

  • In a word- star.

  • It was fun to watch this video, I have the 45 record.

  • forgot how good he was ,saw him at a recording of the prog ,Thank your lucky stars at alpha studio s aston,i was 14,wrote off for tickets for me an friend sandra .happy days

  • Hats off to you Del...

  • Wow! It sure brings back memories when I used to watch him live at The Sands Club in Whitley Bay England. He was, and still is Phenomenal.

  • To Unpleasant, I saw your description & finally figured out that you must mean that it's Burt playing piano with him, there, rather than the song originating from the pair. Which, wouldn't make chronilogical sense. It being from 61. I know Del and Max Crook wrote Runaway, I've not yet found out whether they also penned "HatsOff.." Max Crook is a fascinating story. He invented his own early version of a synthesizer. My dad & I always marveled how ahead of its time the sound on "LittleRunaway" was.

  • Hats off to Delly u r a legend mate R.I.P

  • Del Shannon was a success in Chile with Runaway (july 1961).

Youtube search for ELVIS ROCK DISCO 45 and VIVA EL ROCK AND ROLL and you will see an honoring to this one and others singers of that era.

  • Thanks for showing a great talented man.

  • Del was one of the most unique talents ever, miss him still! So happy to find him on here, thanks for posting! xx

  • I guess I didn't know much about Del Shannon, I thought he was just a guy that sang falsetto and had a few hits, including the great record, "Runaway". I had no idea he played the guitar and wrote the songs also. What a great talent, wish he were still here.

  • Del Shannon's Hats off to Larry is one of his all time greatest hits. Thanks Ed69Lane
