It has a Roush 427 with 511 HP, and a RBT 5-speed transaxle.
Superformance made an agreement with the company who owns the 'GT40' trademark to call their GT40's 'Continuation' vehicles; implying that they are in some fashion connected to the originals, continuing in production.
The Superformance GT40 is 90 percent interchangeable with the originals.

Probably a superformance continuation car, and I think it's a MK4 model, with a ford 427 big block. There again, being where it was seen, it could also be an ERA replica, if they make the MK4. If it's set up anything like the original, it could be a real animal to drive at speed, the big block cars were monsters.
@12salem - go and look at the GT40 photos of the 66 Le Mans winners. The 66 car like the one in the video had a different rear end to the more well known 68 & 69 winners style rear end that most folks are familiar with.
@LiamXaoh I see what you mean about the MK II, still though that car just doesnt look right, the front fog lights also look odd. Im no expert and have only seen a handfull of real gt40s in shows so who knows, as I said it just looks a bit odd to me.
@12salem - I like the older original style (the 68/69 Le Mans winner) - they look less fussy and far more elegant. When people build a replica I assume they grab a bag of features they like (or what the salesmen tells them are the go) and buy it. The Mk II was a beast of a car with 7 litres and a lot more weight than the Mk1. Some builders of replicas also put on much larger diameter wheels and low profile tires which also destroys the looks a bit. Each to his own though.
@LiamXaoh This car, if a Superformance version, is so accurate that it is considered to be a continuation of the originals. It isn't just a kit car replica.
The 'older' versions are also the '66 and '67 years, the '68 and '69 years are the last 2 years the cars were produced.
@elijah5674 - I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. I said "older original style" as the 68/89 versions predate the 66/67 in the body style. There is a huge difference between "older" and "older original style".
That's one bad ass machine. I would've followed the guy until he stopped somewhere and asked him to go for a ride in it. I saw a red and white Ford GT in a bookstore parking lot. I parked next to it and got out and asked the driver if he would take me for a ride and he did.
it be hard to tell if it was a real one to a replica. A real one, especially this MKII would be worth up to $1m. Id most likely say this is a wll done replica, great car tho
Very cool...very SMOKIN!!

A real 1966-1967 Mk.II WOULD be legal.
