How do you use the bow to get the drone with the other notes coming clear through?

@blackhawk2055 that is a "baroque" bow hold ole' buddy! But --- it is peculiar to old timey fimey fiddlers......

@blackhawk2055 haha your a long way from classical ;) haha but personally I think for fiddlers it usually comes down to what feels good and what feels right, I like to hold my bow around the same spot a him, maybe a little lower, I find it helps me sounds for fluent and percises.

Question why do you hold your bow differently with a fiddle then a violin

I guess he just prefers to hold it like that. My guess whould be it adds a little more stabelity.

Its not an irish tune. It's a traditional scottish reel, based on scottish folklore.
