See now if you ask me how to reboot an old game like this. I'd say just reskin it with more of todays texture quality and be done with it. Tweak the controls maybe but this game never appeared that clumsy to get the hang of.

If Monolith survives the recent issues I really think they should make their return to the Shogo franchise. I calculate that the age of the giant robot games and anime may make a come back soon. It could be the very thing that pulls them from the recent tough financial position they're in that spawned along with recent cuts in staff.

Thx for this video, made me buy it yesterday on gog.com. ^^ I bought most of the other Monolith games on there, too. It has been too long since I played them. It is interesting to see that Shogo has some of the same animations that are in FEAR, the way the character tilts his weapon in his hand for example. I totally like it.

Hey Schlauchi , this is pretty damn good playthrough I can tell you know the game well. I think people dont realise how brutal this game can get even on normal. I was pretty impressed you managed to avoid getting one shotted by the shotgun guards. Nice playthrough I am gonna have to go get this from gog

@BlackKnight00 because health in this game was made using a data type "float" which works in decimals so even though you can't see it he probably has 0.3 or something like that for health. =)

this game is awesome, i bought it bundled with septerra core a while back, do you guys have that on vid? i also have blood 2.

btw you missed the armor powerup after talking to the admiral.

this game even works on win7, but not with my nvidia card. works great on an ati card tho for some reason. i still play it on my laptop from time to time... its a good idea to change the strafe movements to a and d and forward and back to w and s. and of course have the mouse button shoot.

At 0:42:55, you can find that same dry erase board picture in a secret room in the game F.E.A.R. Plus the intro music of this game playing on the radio, so the makers of f.e.a.r are old Shogo fans.

This game is very close to my cup of tea in terms or FPS titles.

At first it seemed to me that this game was very similar to Quake but after watching more and more I realized that it resembled more to Blood II: The Chosen.

Just for curiosity I searched the Wikipedia article about this game and, yep, I found that this game shares the same graphics engine as Blood II: The Chosen and The Operative: No One Lives Forever. Heck, there are even easter eggs of those games everywhere. :P

I just would have liked that they would have given a little more attention to detail to the in-game graphics, the models look very dated to the point that some of them have kind of a stupid expression.

Still, the gameplay is pure gold and I'll be sure to give it a try soon! :D

I think the reason the intro video is way too dark is because of the way the .smk format works... But that's just my guess on it...

It's funny how this game could be done in 2 hours.. Favored this video.. since I can't seem to get the game to work in 64-bit Windows XP...
