  • Why is she lying, that is blatantly a weave

  • Bet you it is.

  • THIS IS WHY I LOVE WATCHING YOU GUYS IN THE MORNING!!!!

  • GIRL YOU KNOW BETTA!!!!

  • LOL it was cute.

But yea, that IS a weave. Stop frontin' girl :)

  • I think its cute how white men dont understand the hair of a black woman.

  • Hey everyone wears fake hair at one time or another. I don't think it should be a race matter. Like someone said before me, they both seemed pretty comfortable with each other and found the situation funny! Lol Unfortunately black women are infamous for wearing weaves, wigs, and extensions. Personally, as a black woman, I'm not ashamed of wearing a wig or weaves once in a while. But you better believe I got a head full of hair underneath it!

  • Although I acknowledge that there is an unspoken rule about saying a women is wearing a weave that people need to get over it. It is just a weave, yes it might have been embarrassing for him to shout it out but it isn't something to call the man racist over or to say that he disrespected black women. People are just being insensitive for all the wrong reasons. When women wear makeup and other stuff it isn't a big secret. And please stop claiming only black women wear weave.

  • oh... shit.

  • She tried to lie her way out, ''ohh, it's not'. LIAR, LIAR...pants on FIRE!!! Big time weave! Weave wearers are so insecure...like toupee wearers. LOL

  • @oldschoolruler I think she meant it's a not a weave (as in sew in). Maybe it's one of those with a comb, like a half wig? or something.

  • Watch the movie "good hair" for a hilarious education on weaves. It's available streaming on netflix.

I'm a white guy and enjoyed the movie - and learned about weaves and how they are like "the fight club" - you just don't talk about it!

  • @robble69 oops, appears to be dvd only now. still worth watching

  • Heh, I didn't even know what a weave was before this, despite the fact that my wife is a hairdresser, lol. I still don't totally know, so I'll have to ask her about it tonight. That said, I don't see what the big deal is. It's just another kind of makeup, and how many women are embarrassed to have the world know they wear makeup?

Bottom line: if you're afraid to have the world know it's not really your hair/boobs/lips/face/butt/whatever, then maybe you should stay real instead of going fake.

  • @yamamefish VERY WELL SAID!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • HA! Oh, her face!

  • I'm a white guy and I don't know what a weave is.... probably for the best.

  • @creighton1119 fake hair....yeah, probably best you didn't know :)

  • No black women are complaining including the one in the video so what the hell are some of you idiots commenting trying to prove ? mock indignation ?

  • Thumbs up if CNN brought you here! He definitely was trying to pay her a compliment, he just didn't know that guys don't bring that up to ladies haha.

  • Another black woman here dying with laughter!

  • I'm a white male with blond hair and blue eyes, and this offended me greatly.

  • @clashingtyrants, it sounds like you are trying to disturb the peace. I knew this especially when you felt the need to describe yourself. If you had left it at I'm a white male maybe I wouldn't have believed you were a trouble maker but the extra unnecessary details clued me in.

  • I'm also black and thought this was hilarious. All heads, these days, are weaved out. Why be embarrassed. I'm sure someone watching was like, "I wonder what weave numba she has in her head."

  • lol! I'm a black woman! And this was hilarious!

  • lol oops

  • AHAAAAAAAAA!

  • Oh shit!

  • work diversity at its finest...luv it!!! yall are hilarious. I am a new fan of channel three news now!

  • LOLOL Poor bastard!

  • I love it....she is beautiful!

  • She talked about her hair to him? To a bald man?

    What an unfeeling 'b***ch. :-D

  • Yeah, She is laughing, but her face at 0:22 screams "OH NO THIS MUTHAF**KA DIDN'T!!"

  • LMAO @ "But you're beautiful..." awwww Blaine is adorable!

  • hahaha it's obvious he ment no harm and you can tell they get along very well. i'm sure he thought weave was like something every woman has and its no big deal to call out, what do men know about hair anyways, girls have extensions, weaves, perms, brazilian blowouts. like he knows difference. :)

  • My favorite is when women vainly talk about some little "issue" with their hair.... in front of someone who is BALD. Nobody thinks of the bald man's feelings anymore. Oh wait, they never did.

  • I freakin' love this.

  • Too funny

  • awwww he said it as a compliment

  • at least he didnt call her a nappy headed hoe

  • Give the man a break. Who of us, especially us guys, has not majorly put our foot in our mouth over a woman's appearance, in a moment of thoughtlessness? I know I've embarrassed myself several times not meaning any harm.

  • Wow. (silence) Hahahahahahahhahaha. I loved the rebuttal video too. It was very cute.

  • love the way he just fled the scene....quit while you're not so far behind

  • holyyyyyyyyy shit. he's gonna get shot tonight

  • Embarrised over cosmetics...Priceless!!...lol!!!

  • I watch these guys every morning...crazier things have been said and done.

  • "What! You said it was a weave, right?" Priceless.

  • He is clueless and funny.

  • He said a beautiful weave...roflmaaaaaooooo!

  • ahahahaaaaaa cute

  • poor guy. lol i know he meant no harm.

  • AWKWARD!

  • she definitely whooped his ass after the scene was ended.. lol!

  • what's a weave???

  • @ashwinbhat123 basically a wig clued or sewed onto the original hair.

  • At least her weave is a pretty one. :)

  • Lol. that's cute! Had me dying! she handled that nicely too.

  • You're kidding me, right?

  • Pretty classic example about how OUR hang ups affect others. He had no idea that having a weave was shameful and shouldn't be discussed on air until she became horrified. Poor guy-- HILARIOUS video.

  • So, she is embarassed to have it known she wears a wig, but not so embarassed to give up the wig?

That's like Donald Trump's loveable little tuft, no one is supposed to notice its a trick of the wig industry.

Look, who cares, I do not want a news reader thats easy to look at, I want one who can enunciate clearly, one who speaks well and can keep up with the teleprompter.

We are paying her to read, not model!

  • That was unbeweavble!!!! I am a black man and I can honestly say that, he meant no harm, you can't expect him to know that unspoken rule...What you fail to see is that they are cool enough with each other, that she would even be discuss such a personal topic with him..That's like telling a man you wear a GIRDLE..lol

  • @moneyman6791 hahaha! Girdle.

  • @moneyman6791 It's one thing to be close enough to talk about that shit to each other... in private. But to tell all of Norfolk, VA? *Smh*

  • LMFAO

  • it is not funny at all except i learned a new way to piss some girls off when i want to. weave, weave, weave, and fat. oh i can not use these two words? so pathetic and sensitive people. go smoke weed and you will be less sensitive.

  • I think it's funny as shit.

  • But... but she IS wearing a weave. Another topic to walk on eggshells around. You know there is something inherently wrong when something as simple as running your hands through your gals hair leads to a full blown intense arguments "Ya know how much i paid for this sh*t", sigh. Got to love natural sistas for that, less stress ;)

  • @betterwrld1 yes, what is with this weave crap, it's ugly! natural hair, stick with natural, why have something on your head that your significant other cannot touch

  • bahahah

  • I'm white... so it's not okay to call it a weave?

I've got some phone calls to make.

  • Now we all died laughing because that shit was funny. But if it had been extensions, or weave, or anything else you want to call it, it still would have been funny. It is what it is. People do it. It's an option. And it's real obvious. So everyone needs to just get over it. Including black women.

  • I am a white woman who usually wears my hair pulled back tight in a ponytail out of sheer laziness. So when I do wear it "natural", and especially if it rains (yup!), I have a big red head full of naturally curly hair. So surprising to some that an older female black coworker came to me, staring quizzically, and asked, "What'd you do, get a weave? You know white girls do it now too, I saw it on Oprah, and I can't believe how much they spend on it", all the while putting her hands in my hair.

  • Unbe-WEAVE-able

  • Stop the madness. He just spoke from his soul. He wishes he had a weave, toupee, wig, anything but that pink bald head. Just another way to hate.

  • it's not like he said and a nappy weave!... he probly trying to tap tht ne ways.

  • so he just walks away?

  • This is too funny they work well together. Nothing wrong with what he just didn't know he wasn't supposed to say it on t.v. lmao Obviously they talk off camera about regular stuff.

  • He meant no harm and folks need to stop making an harmless situation out to be an harmful situation.. Laila didn't take to heart so why should you..

  • that's awful!

  • Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tnb

  • LOL it clearly is a weave...yes, it's an embarrassing moment for it to be revealed but WHATEVER she should have dusted that off!

  • Hilarious..."you said it was a weave right?"

  • wtf, he said beautiful weave thats it ?! .. i was expecting something much worse in an ignorant racial manner...

  • LOL!!!!! This is awesome! This guy is so stupid that he made my day! Open mouth, insurt foot!

  • Why be embarrassed about it? If you wear a weave, you wear a weave. It wasn't professional to call her out on the tv but maybe he didn't know any better.

  • All the people angry with the dude in the vid should watch the rebuttal video explaining the incident. Not everything is as bad as initially perceived.

  • the awkwardness starts at 0:21 lol

  • @Doomcity202...pathetic, pitiful, miserable and ignorant is a sad way to go through life; but, you know nothing about me, common sense or decency. So, kick rocks. And be glad that despite your ignorance, God still loves you.

  • but it was super obvious. and he said she mentioned it to him in the past so he may not know that it could be offensive. the rule is generally that if someone else discusses their implants or prosthesis, etc then it's ok to discuss. I'd be more upset if I were her, about walking around with something that looked like a rug on my head. The thing sat a mile back from her forehead.

  • He called her beautiful. That was sweet of him. =] He didn't do anything bad. haha He just talked a little too much. lmao

  • Not cool, bro.

  • Thank you for clearing that up - because when you said, "It is not a weave," I was like, "Why she frontin'?" I think part of the problem with the anti-weave attitude is women lying about them!

Thank you for sharing your natural photo as well. I grew out my relaxer under weaves as well.

    Stay strong, stay natural!

  • The bitch below me is coming at me at an angle. See she was offended

by my opinion so she uses some fake ass angle about my vocabulary.

These bitches stay on some mind games. They pick that shit up from

Racist and try to seem intellectually superior but in reality study these

bitches and you will find many are common/ordinary in conduct and

logic. All im saying is pay close to whoever you are dealing with out

here women have a shield of beauty to hide behind and ass and titts

    to distract you.

  • What a di*khead!, that was unnecessary to talk about someones weave... Nowadays most girls wear weaves. N by the way I luv her hair, it looks nice. - He should be a real man n not comment on weaves unless it's something positive he's gonna say.

  • ROFL!!!

  • Do they use velcro to keep it attached to their existing hair?

  • no. @BIXN0OD look it up.

  • but it is a weave...

  • I wonder if Blaine's "partner" wears a weave like Laila? Perhaps this is the real reason he knows so much about it!

  • @BarackObamaHazAids it aint no thing...they broke down many of these niggas

I believe the part about the Network not wanting niggas with their natural hair on

tv cause they always have had some ole Euro image and many of these niggas

bought into it. You got niggas out here running from rain and hiding from sun so

they wont get darker. They fucked many of these niggas heads up fairly bad.

Asians making a killing off niggas ashamed of their natural hair.

Shit is what it is @ this point. Fuck it

  • @DoomCity202 your vocabulary is ridiculous! I can't stand ignorant, illiterate individuals!!! Pick up a dictionary!

  • @TheTazzyrene never in a million years could you prove to be more

intelligent or better than me at anything besides doing hair.

Dont u ever forget that...do u understand me?

Stay in your lane of mentally manipulating pussy weak niggas

cause I study this life shit closely these bitches crackas niggas

& society in general I already know what category u fit in by that

sideways bullshit u sent. Yes my vocab is ridiculous

What u cant stand is your mirror nigga.

    Love that or nothing matters

  • But what everyone REALLY needs to be concerned about is...what happened when they got back from the commercial break?? lol

  • I am a black women who LOVES, LOVES, LOVES weaves and I do hair so I have costumers of all races who love weaves as much as I do. If you don't want people to talk about your weave get it done right but it doesn't stop people from KNOWING that it's a weave and if you don't want people to ask if your nice, silky long hair is a weave, don't perm it. IT'S JUST HAIR!!!!!!

  • Black women act like its a secret what black hair really looks like.

Like people are really gonna forget that black hair is nappy.

Everybody knows why sisters run like hell from rain.....

    In High Heels.

  • They probably joked about it before and weaves do look very natural when done right so he thought he was being funny but she wasnt wearing one. Its funny! Lighten up people! She didnt look too offended she probably was just caught off guard b/c it was on air and the fact that she was wearing just her real hair so she probably wanted to carify that.

  • Some of you need to RELAX! As a black woman with weave that works with a lot of white men, I thought this was funny as hell. Stop being so damn sensitive.

  • Peep the donkey at 32 secs....yeah buddy

  • @Iwillslapyoutwice and they think we GAF about their "hurr"..

  • This dude knew what he was doing... I'm not stupid.

  • us guys make fun of each other all the time and we don't flip out. girls take everything so seriously. lol

  • I love his face when he walks away like she sittin up here LYIN! lol! You can tell they get along & it wasn't meant disrespectfully. He woulda said "hairdo" to anyone else about them not wanting to have messy hair, but he knew she had a weave. Hell, we all knew that! lol. At any rate the response vid is great too.

  • Heheh. I don't understand why many black women wear weaves in the first place, actually. I get the impression they're more comfortable when natural, and a woman who is comfortable with herself is almost sexy by default.

Then again, I'm a guy, so this whole fuss that women make about their appearance is out of this world to me. Make-up and hairstyles are nice and all, but the first thing we guys always, always check is your body. Not your hair, your eyes or your skin(color). Your body.

  • LMAO!!! That was funny

  • lol at my local news station....they are the only channel i watch lol...love them

  • That is it??? he called it a beautiful weave and we tripping?? please...

  • @dasugo anyone who doesn't realize that he was trying to be insulting on the sly, must be slow

  • this is so funny i love when he just walks away

  • Seeing that I work with these two every morning I can tell you go ahead and take a look at Blaine's other videos or watch us online at wtkr.com or wgnt.com in the mornings and you will realize that we have fun EVERY day and we are all friends. There is a video response coming directly from Blaine and Laila so STAY TUNED!

  • Phaedra Parks is a news lady now??? WOW!

  • Comment removed

  • Every race of woman walks around with weave, makeup, surgery enhancements, contacts, butt pads, fake nails etc. Nonblack women do it even moreso. But everyone is only worried about pointing out black women. Why are we always tearing black women down for? Why can't we treat her like other women? Ever thought that explains the anger??

  • er shelooked embarased

  • what the hell does it matter if it's real ir bit STAHP IT

  • @MizzBabzyBee *or not

  • I wonder how long it'll take before she turns this into a racism/sexual harassment issue, then sues.

  • @PrideofWhitey I doubt she would've let him post it on his youtube if she was that upset.

  • I am a weaveologist and THAT is a weave.

  • It's probably homemade wig. It looks like it comes off.

  • @abrown17 Way to turn it into a race issue, dumbass. If it was a white girl itd be just as funny. Get off your high horse and have a sense of humor. Arrogant prick.

  • @r3traK

Accept the difference is most people assume black women wear fake hair. Most assume white women grow their own hair. So the joke would not be about white women and most people can admit that. So lets stop trying to make it seem most people would even get the joke if he made the comment about a white woman wearing a weave. Most people would just say huh?!? Since when do white women wear weaves? Bcs black women are associated with weave wearing in most peoples minds NOT white women.

  • @njari2

White women have been exposed for wearing weaves too, it was on Yahoo a few weeks back. So if people didn't know before, they know NOW. Weave is no longer a "Black woman thing". It's a non-black thing as well.

  • @r3traK You don't have to resort to name calling to make your point. Obviously my comment got under your skin, but there's no need to be rude and disrespectful just because you are behind a computer screen.

  • Too funny lol.

  • It is in extremely poor taste to point out something "fake" on a person and I'm sure this guy knows it.

The bottom line is whether someone is wearing weave, dentures, breast implants, a prosthetic leg, etc people are entitled to their PRIVACY and DIGNITY.

Let them reveal it if they want to.

People are very comfortable ridiculing and disrespecting Black women. This is not funny at all. Don't go along with it cause the joke's on you.

  • @abrown17 Wow, you are serious about it, but I have to agree with you. It is assumed that all black women wear weaves. I don't think the guy was being racist.

  • @Mr40acresandamule I don't think he's racist either. I'm saying that people tend to "forget" their manners and home training when dealing with Black women.

  • @abrown17 YOU ARE DOING THE MOSTEST... STIRRING CONTROVERSY FOR NO APPARENT REASON.... It's always easier to note the bad vs the good... with that being said did you take the time to watch "the rebuttal" Get ya panties out a bunch and stop making EVERYTHING A RACE ISSUE.... It's 2011....sn: IM BLACK AND YES IM PROUD...

  • @Estielecia My intention is not to stir controversy, just to speak the truth. I'm not sure what the "mostest" means. I actually did watch the rebuttal video. I'm sure in this guy's mind he meant no harm. But he needs to mind his manners with Black women as much as he would with anyone else. I don't care what year it is, I will always call things as I see them. Not sure what you being black and proud has to do with anything.

  • @abrown17 It has nothing to do with black or white. The guy made a mistake on air and they both felt embarrassed at the end.

  • @abrown17 I'm a black woman and I think some people are just confused. Sometimes, it seems like black women almost brag about having weaves. "Pat you weave ladies", the movie 'Good Hair'. I honestly think some people don't think about these things and look at people as individuals. You can't tell me it's not a possibility. You see he seemed confused, and then ashamed for what he said.

  • @aGwEENapple The thing is, people aren't "confused" when it comes to non-Black women. Black women are just like anyone else, worthy of respect.

  • @abrown17 Of course, people need to learn respect. Hair is hair, it doesn't matter if you notice it may not grow out of a person's scalp. If it's on their head, it's theirs. I understand.

  • @abrown17 welp, was he lying? NOPE. So STFU this was funny as fuck XD

  • @abrown17 I had one lady who felt the need to try and give under-handed compliment. She said, "That wig looks really cute on you." Of course, seeing the travesty on top of her head made me wonder about her. She must have seen the way I looked at her, because she said, "Don't get me wrong, it looks good on you and nobody could tell". I was like, "WELL HELL, THEY CAN TELL NOW SINCE YOU PUT ME ON BLAST".

  • @msdonna2008 That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about, she knew better.

  • The person who posted about the texture not matching is absolutely right. Why are we walking around with hair down our behinds that silky straight-that's not what we look like! We hate what we look like. Its so sad. That's why black women are not desired or respected (not even by our men) because we don't value ourselves.

  • Girl Stop!! If it wasn't a weave she would NOT have run off the set. Clearly this is a weave and its OKAY. You wear one so be proud of it. When are black women going to stop frontin' like this is your hair. By the way I am black......its all good

  • CALL THAT BITCH OUT SON!!!

  • @BlaineStewartWTKR ... how bad of a beatin' did you get after this broadcast? If it were me... i'd have you by the shorthairs...

  • @7CitesChic757 Pretty sure there were preventative "beatin's by association" by weave wearing newscasters all around the globe after this....

  • ...dumbass

  • LOL poor guy

  • Hahahahahahaha so funny

  • LMAO!!!!!! *hollers*

  • Oh, my good sir, HELLLL NO!! lmaoooo

  • Oh boy, some of ya'll need to let go. I have never understood the need to criticize and the angered fueled on some of you by other people's choices. Mind your own business and do you. If you focused more on being happy with and developing yourself you wouldn't be so caught up with others and what they do. Be happy people the world and the choice is yours. Judging others does nothing to improve your reality. And video is so cute and hilarious!

  • LOL @ how naive the man was. He didn't know that he committed a serious offense! LOL @ "you said it was a weave!" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • THAT IS A LACE FRONT WIG THIS IS FAR FROM A WEAVE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY SHE PAID FOR IT I WOULD BE UPSET IF YOU CONFUSED MY WIG FOR A WEAVE TOO!

  • *shrugs* maybe if black women wore weaves to match the actual texture of their hair no one would crack jokes about it.

I don't see Asian, White, East Indian, etc. women wearing kinky curly weaves.

  • @TikiTubeable Regardless, all of the ethnicities that you've listed all wear weaves/extensions.

  • @Myoustay Yeah and you've failed to see my point in that they aren't wearing a weave that doesn't match their hair texture already. Sure no weave is going to match perfectly, but I'm pretty certain most of them aren't walking about with the complete opposite of their hair texture...like most black women are. That indian remy, and cheap korean hair and your nappy edges = fail.

The edges are always a dead ass give away.

  • @TikiTubeable You have a point there, but all I'm saying is if you do ever go into a hair shop, see if you actually find weave or extensions (excluding wigs) that match black people's hair texture. It's not a very easy task and I think that is the whole reason as to who black females do that. However, if you do just so happen to come across it at any point in time, then you will have won this debate.
