Socialism seeks equality, security, and social justice, all of these objectives are admirable, the problem is that the means they adopt do not come close to obtaining them; private enterprise has been the most efficient way out of poverty for the ordinary man, socialism has always produced less output and a lower standard of living, moreover it is incompatible with democracy; capitalism has come the closest to socialist objectives much more so than socialism.

@spader49 I could not agree more. However, the problem with the capitalism is actually something called 'neoliberalism'. It gives the private companies a free pass to do whatever they want with basic human rights, like education. So, this kind of thing should be ruled by the government to guarantee all citizens will have the right to have the best education, regardless of their wealth. You can NEVER call this a democracy. Those people that don't have insurance were not given a choice.

@GuiFigueiredoA Private companies do have rights, but theyre not the same as person's rights, they are more limited and can be taken away, there are requirements they must fulfil to get them, like limited liability, the right to sue etc, but companies are prohibited from commiting any crime, and the directors can go to jail for them.Companies cannot just do what they want. They have to keep details of millions of things, all available to the public, like who runs it, records for auditing, etc.
