  • I am the original by approximately two years! I am Jamie Moyer the bass player and there is nothing like being behind 750,000 hits on Google for Jamie Moyer the baseball player when people search for me. We're both from PA and he may be a cousin.

  • jamie moyer as in the long time pitcher for the mariner's ?

  • I can hear his voice on this one so much more clearly. Love it when the pedal steel is in the version of this song. LOVE IT ALL. This song has just always gotten to me, the melody, lyrics. incredibly beautiful guitar and harmonies. It is a gorgeous song sung by just the right folks, and the instruments are beautiful..Yep, they still have it indeed.

  • Definitely!! STILL got it!!

  • wow can that guy solo or what!

  • Horrible cut-off @ end, but still one stompin' good version; especially when you consider most people don't even have a voice left later, much less a voice like that!

  • Can't wait for the Poco PPL concert in Prescott this weekend!

  • Has anyone ever seen Craig Fuller talking about writing this song?

Has to be one of my all-time tunes, the guitar playing, and the lead are unforgetable..

  • one hit wonder...... the years of drugs and drinking have taken there toll....

  • I didn't know that Paul McCartney sang for Pure Prairie League.

  • yes they do!! thanks!

  • OMG Thanks for posting this.

  • lead singer's voice still sounds great. Wow

  • When I was at Shepherd College in 1979-1981 every band, that came to play in the bowl near Kenamond Hall, had to know this song. This was the college anthem. Man it brings back memories

  • @chuck322 - Chuck322 - I lived in Kenamond Hall 1979-83. You are right about this song's connection to Shepherd, it was practically the school's fight song. And do you remember the theme from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" blasting out from Kenamond's windows late at night?

  • Thank you Andrew James Henry......your love from Phila. PA. Many a year ago....fond memories i will remember always!

  • My Great uncle helped write this song

  • Such a great song and Fuller's voice just seems to get better with age.

  • where can i buy a copy of this song with this intro at the beginning? (on cd or download.)

  • I don't think that this is the same lead singer and it is definitely not the correct version of the song.

  • @apologeticsman That's the guy who wrote it. How can it not be "the correct version"?

  • Love them. Almost forgot about them.

  • GOT TO TURN IT UP ALWAYS ON MY MIND

  • I don't really care who played when , but he still has the pickin' and the vocals down real nice. In my opinion the entire Bustin' Out LP is nothing short of great- a true classic..always will be in my "Top Ten" of all time. Thanks for posting this live version!

  • You guys crack me up. I have to stir things up a bit here. Vince Gill was the ripe old age of 15 in '72 when Amie was released. I guess his voice hadn't changed yet lol

  • As for the Vince Gill saga...The way I heard it back in my radio days, Vince Gill was a studio musician who played guitar on this record and sang the highest part of the harmonies on both of these songs...If you know Vince's voice and vocal range and you have the "Bustin' Out" album you can definitely hear him.

  • I searched for "Falling In & Out Of Love" in 2008 but couldn't find a live video. I'm very grateful you posted this video. I've played along with this song in iTunes too many times to count :) warm regards. Mary

  • Craig Fuller is not only a great picker but one of the best wordsmiths around !

  • Great stuff, shame it ran out.....

  • Here;s a good one

  • Vince gill was the lead on that song and also let me love you tonight--that sounds nothing like the original

  • @iceaxe56 Sorry, but you are wrong. Craig Fuller wrote and performed this many years before Vince Gill.

I was working as a bouncer in a place called "New Dilly Pub" in Cincinnati when PPL play their first public gig. They were all from the Cincy area. That's how I got to know them.

  • @Bobbyo60 the record i have says vocals--vince gill--so i think i will go with that-who cares

  • @iceaxe56 OK, no sense letting things get in the way of facts, eh??

  • @iceaxe56 Just to clear this up. 'Amie' was recorded for the album 'Bustin' out' in '72, Fuller left the band for a while and had an on again off again membership wtih PPL. Vince gill first recorded with them in'79 and sang Amie live when they performed without Fuller.

  • @claytonave sorry --i saw ppl in 1974 with vince gill--he had hair to his shoulders and sang amie--so there goes your clearing up

  • @iceaxe56 Sorry buddy, I don't know who you saw, but I was friends with Vince and Jeff (Wilson) back in 79, when they first joined PPL

    Claytonave is correct.

  • @jstnxprsn1 sure you were buddy--they played at my college in 74 with vince gill--maybe you were drugging and confused

  • @iceaxe56 I was never THAT drugged or confused as to not know what years I was lucky enough to be friends with, and do sound for, that kind of talent. It seems however that your grasp on reality might use a little tweaking, or at least a new pair of eyeglasses, as you don't know Vince Gill from Larry Goshorn. (Thanks mtnlakes57)

  • @jstnxprsn1 sorry guy albumsdon't lie--check out vocals on the albums--for those years---maybe you dreamed you were their friends or your dillusional--hey it happens with age.vince gill even does a spot in his concert and talks all about it--and does all the numbers--sorry to bring you back to reality

  • @iceaxe56 From their Wikipedia page...

"In September 1978, auditions found Vince Gill (vocals, guitars, mandolin, banjo, fiddle)...

...Sax player Jeff Kirk accompanied the band on some of the dates of their 1979 tour."

Get that? FOUND in Sept '78 Toured in "79

  • @jstnxpr only thing i get is that you are mental--get some help dude

  • @iceaxe56 Let's review, shall we? After others explain to you that Vince didn't play with the band that early, you deny it based on??? Then I share my experience and you deny that. Then I show you it in writing and you still don't see reality. Yet, I'm the one who's mental? ROFL There is no help for you, pal. Good luck to you.

  • @jstnxprsn1 the only writing i see is from you--if you have the albums just check the line up--its that simple.

  • @iceaxe56 Personnel on '72's album

The band * Craig Fuller - bass, guitar, electric guitar, vocals * George Powell - guitar, electric guitar, vocals * Billy Hinds - drums

    Personnel on '75's album

    The band

     * George Ed Powell - guitar/vocals * Larry Goshorn - guitar/vocals * John David Call - steel guitar/banjo/dobro/vocals * Michael Connor - keyboards * Michael Reilly - bass/vocals * Billy Hinds - drums

  • @jstnxprsn1 i guess vince gill didn't exist--dude get a life--anyone can list a band lineup--check the ppl website

  • @iceaxe56 I'm not putting any more time into this. You do your own homework. I think you are just a troll looking to cause some kind of grief. If you had such an album, you would have offered some kind of proof of that, long ago. Have a nice life, anyway, but do try to find something more constructive to do, eh?

  • @jstnxprsn1 good you idiot you are the one keeping on--only proof you have is what YOU listed--You need to get a life and i have the album and vince gill even talks about his time with ppl-so just go away

  • @iceaxe56 Vince played with the band but no on the album 'Bustin Out' , he joined in 1978, The first two albums with Craig fuller are quite different from the rest. Nothing to get worried about. Vince is excellent, however he wasn't on the first two albums.

  • @iceaxe56 That was Larry Goshorn

  • Not true, krappyproducts, I have it from Fuller himself: Falliin in and out of love was conceived and written by Fuller before George Powell was part of the band. Amie and Caroline were inventions of Fuller--not real people.

  • Here's some trivia: "Fallin' In and Out of Love With You," was an unfinished song by George Powell, PPL co-founder. George played it for Craig to get some feedback to finish it and it got mashed up with Amie instead!

  • Sorry for the cutoff before the ending... It was just a video clip from my digital camera and the memory came to an end to soon. It was very disappointing,

After the show I waited beside the stage for Craig Fuller. I wanted to let him know that the version of Little Feat that included him was the best that the band has ever been by far! It was an electric lineup, both live and in the studio. He got a warm smile on his face and thanked me... very humble!

  • @JamieMoyerMusic Fortunate for you, you got to see them in person. I remember the spring of 1975 when "Amie" was played on the radio. It still is, and brings back fond memories as a kid of 14, the crush I had, and the eighth grade. So long ago, 35 years. Seemed like yesterday!

  • @JamieMoyerMusic they are real people you know

  • They've still got it!

  • I have often wondered who was Amie and who was Caroline. That is my name at it is spelled the same. Just curious. I have tried to find out, but with no luck. In another video he did mention Caroline was there somewhere. The words led me to think maybe Caroline is the daughter and Amie the love interest. Does anyone know?

  • great song , craig fuller also did a song called "annabella please listen" if anyone has it , please post it, i'd like to hear it. thanks.

  • What a treat!

  • wheres vince gill

  • This actually isn't a bad video. Love this song always have. Thanks for sharing it
