That is rediculous. They tuned to "ninestring" tuning on their eightstrings (Bb-F-Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb) on the remastered Nothing's Spasm.

That is Meshuggah's semitone down tuning on a ninestring, minus the high Eb.

I have a sevenstring at D-A-D-G-B-E-A, an octave from standard. All you are decent extended range pickups (basically not EMGs)

Basses have gone down to Ab0, an octave and one half below Common drop-tuning on a bass.

My post was a light-hearted attempt at saying sometimes low is just really low already!!! Ab0 is another way of saying I need to buy new speakers just to experience it.

And whenever anyone downtunes, a new guitar is on the horizon because downtuning is temporarily modifying an instrument. Someone will always want to facilitate that with an instrument that is designed to do it by nature.
