  • Has anyone tried to beat the Boston scenario by pausing the game, destroying the nuclear plant, and then unpausing it? I have, and it actually works.

  • epic

  • Brings back good memories. :)

  • For all the people who are asking for the music in certain parts of the game. Go on amazon, buy a SNES, and buy sim city.

  • @leexcore1 There's also emulation.

  • @timhomer2009 True, true. But that just doesn't do it for me. There's just something about blowing into those old cartridges..

  • Ahh, my favorite scenario as a kid.. The meltdown :D

  • I never managed to get to the highest level of citizens required! Any1 did?

  • Holy shit- that's this year! :D

  • This was the first game I ever played, as a kid, where I sat in front of the system and played it for 8 hours straight. I remember getting a NintendoPower magazine a long time ago with foldout full-color pictures of cities built by artists who used the city maps to create amazing looking cities. There were also Sim City 2000 cities built in the same manner (another game that I played almost non-stop on my old Mac).

  • This was such a great game. I bought Sim City 4 recently but somehow it just wasn't the same.

  • OH SNAP!! =D MEMORIES!!!!

XD I feel so old. I was like...6-ish when this game came out. Now I'm 25 and it just takes me back to a time way before we had Gamefaqs and had to wait for Nintendo Power....and Saturdays were all about sitting down and gaming with titles like this one!

  • i remember my father in this song .. this is the favorite game of my father when i am young .. this is very nice game

  • The first music gives me chills. The rest are all great in their own way. :D

  • God I adore this soundtrack! Another game me and my dad used to play all the time.

So many people overlook this soundtrack on the SNES, personally I think it's one of the top 5 on the system.

  • Soyo Oka: Genius composer

  • God I miss playing games like this. Sim city was one of my all time favorite games of the snes. I miss the good old days of games like this.

  • ...I remember when 2010 was the distant future...

  • I just jizzed my pants

  • Sounds a lot like Earthbound music. A LOT.

  • I loved my Amiga version back then. It had almost no music, so I used to play this while listening to my stereo.

    Ahhh, those were the days......

  • I have all the music from this game except for the piece of music that plays when you have to do the taxes at the end of the year.....anyone know where I can get that from please?

  • No matter what I tried, I could never get the Mario statue. :(

  • This game is better than sex.

  • it's an epic-ass game, but i don't think i can agree with that...

  • Why? You've never had it.

  • orly

  • well at least, the game takes longer. (-;

  • - with fat chicks.

  • @geterdonein01 LOL, ummm yea I would have agreed back then when I wasn't gettin any

  • what a great game.

  • Ah, the nuclear meltdown scenario. I always used to try to find and bulldoze the power plants before they melted down. Sure I pulled it off once or twice. Loved this game, but could never make it to megalopolis. I wonder why this is the only Sim City to really simulate the seasons changing...

  • This game was the beginning of Sims.

  • used to love getting to 2:57

  • Yeah, the Metropolis theme ... Really gives you the feel of a busy city.

  • I always found the music in this game soothing.

  • Same composer as Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Kart. She's a class act

  • omg i remember this game <333

  • 1:16 sound like many capcom games on SNES

  • I never heard Megalopolis music before! Whoa.

I got my city up to like 470,000 and couldn't get any further

  • Love the game! Love the music!

Imo the best Sim City ever!!!!

  • Man this brings me back. Sim City for the SNES had some of the most memorable music ever. I also loved how the music got more "busy" as your town grew larger and larger. It is a simple concept but they just really nailed it with the best songs possible.

  • In AOSTH, you can hear SC Classic music on one of the episodes

  • Holy crap I recognised one of those songs from Link's Awakening. REFERENCE! X3

  • yeah, it's in one of the houses or something like that.

  • The one song you probably heard was when Dr. Wright came on to tell you that your city is doing fine and all that, the music was also in the Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening! FinalGamerJames I hope thats what you heard! Pretty Sweet!

  • That's exactly it man, thanks :D

  • Great game! I used to play it for hours... A few times I managed it to hear the megalopolis-music at a huge map and with a well planned and tight constructed city (dougnut-system). It was f****** hard and tooks as I remember well several weeks.

  • Nice tunes, makes me thing of Earthbound. I've played the PC version a few times, but it really wasn't my thing. It was funny to see when tornadoes came through & just trashed the place. Oh noes!

  • Wow! I never got to hear the Megalopolis music - which I assume that is at 3:43

  • Hmmm thats a shame i didnt hear the tune i thought i remembered. I used to love playing this game, it would draw me into a trance for hours on end. I seem to recall a very dreamlike tune, but i never heard it here.

  • whoa what were u on back then

  • Oh you must be referring to the "Good Night" tune, that's played when you're ready to retire from office.

  • Weird, I think there was some Zelda 4 music in there :D

  • These games were made by the same group. Mr. Wright from SimCity made a cameo in Zelda as Mr. Write.

  • Ahhh of course! How did I not remember that XD

  • You can get STEREO-Sound, if you put "&fmt=18" on the Video-URL.

  • I didn't 'forget' anything. I put the tunes I wanted, it's not my intention to include every song in the soundtrack.

  • TY SO MUCH! THIS MUSIC ROCKS SO HARD I PERMENTLY WANA HEAR IT WHEN I AM IN MY HOME TOWN (but no offence with the game it would meen id move offten)

  • Ha, glad you like the vid.

  • I've thought that so many times

  • @GoodGamesrlikemovies I'm with you here...this game brings me back..just for the music (especially early levels)... God I loved this game...so much... Freakin' godzilla and tornadoes messin' up the place...

  • actually, the "scenario passed" theme was there, within the last 5 seconds of the video.

  • SIM CITY is COOL. I loved this game.

  • I loved Sim City on SNES!

    Good times. *sighs*

  • I feel the same way
