As far as i can say reading from the mid[DOT]ru, Iceland didn't get any loans from Russia yet, the official talks about the loan will start at the 13 of October, and also there has been no official talks about any military base (just rumors from Icelanders)
actually thats sad, why did the U.S do that? afterall the U.S picked up paying for 800 billion, why not an extra 4? I mean thats a drop in the bucket. I'd have rather bailed Iceland out then the freaks at AIG who are off at fancy resorts right now spending a million (just about) on pedicures, they got caught!

Well said. I'm as frustrated as you are, and I'm still talking to dimwits here who still believe that the US is OWED money by other countries! I asked this guy at work if he's been living in a bunker for the last 20 years because we actually owe China, Arab countries, Japan, AND Russia. He was very upset and said that's not right then I shut him up by googling Iceland's problem and the US debt to other countries on legit news sites but he just turned around and walked away. Fucked up.
Because USA has no real cash. Government is 11 trillion in RED. That 800 billion will come from China or they can simply print it out, screwing the dollar's value even more. Russia on the other hand, has no debt, and over half a trillion in cold hard cash, Euros and Dollars.
Norway should get the f*** out of Schengen and the EØS, and make a personal trade union with Sweden and Iceland.
